Morbid Angel Discography

ABOMONATIONS OF DESOLATION. (circa 1986)

A demo of Morbid Angel's that was eventually professionally released because the underground distribution of bootleged copies was virtually uncontrollable. The sheer energy, and powerful message in such songs as "Blasphemy", "Chapel of Ghouls", and "Maze of Torment" will forever challenge and set the standards for Death Metal Bands in the present, and to those who will be in the future.

BLESSED ARE THE SICK. (circa 1991)

Morbid Angel's second studio album was shockingly different from it's predicesor 'Alter's of Madness', the stylistic strategies of Blessed was very slow, and sludgey...and very heavy. The album was very well taken by fan's though who saw the musical attributes of the four members start to rise. A classical guitar piece even appeared on the album, titled "Desolate Ways" (on the tablature page) and is a great, yet simplistic arrangment. This was the last album with Richard Brunelle, although he still toured with them later on.

COVENANT. (circa 1993)

In 1993 when Morbid Angel released Covenant the world of Death Metal, and Heavy Metal as a whole was starting to die. But Morbid Angel never cared about the music genre they were in, and whether or not it was 'cool' at the time or not. Morbid Angel in a time when Kurt Cobain reigned, spawned an album that would shake the music world once more. With a video for "Rapture" and appearences on 'Headbanger's Ball' (rest in piece) and being the first Death Metal band ever on a major label, Morbid Angel showed the world what they're about and most folks didn't like it. But that's how the Morbid Ones like it. Then making a video for "God Of Emptiness" they gave one last blow to the alternitive nation of MTV viewers. The album was a huge success and was when Morbid Angel was only a three-piece. The album suffered because of this, they did overdubbing that would make Bathory jealous. But the album still couldn't top Alters of Madness in the eyes, and ears of the fans.

DOMINATION. (circa 1995)

Domination was another landmark album by Morbid Angel. It was the last studio album with David Vincent, and Eric Rutan. This album is the closest to Alters in sound. But yet, if any album of theirs could match up with Alters it would be Domination. It was an amazing album with the power, and fury that only Morbid Angel could deliver. (well....Deicide's close) The video for "Were the Slime Live" was never once played on MTV, and got small air-play on radio, except on college stations, at midnight to 5:30, but still managed to make it up the charts.

ENTANGLED IN CHAOS. (circa 1996)

Entangled In Chaos was an expected album but still to this very day has not been officially released in the states. It's available as an import and is an all-live album. This album is powerful and it tries it's hardest to capture the energy of Morbid Angel live, but nothing can compensate for seeing them live. But this album does a damn good job.
