Mark Williams Bryan

Mark was born on May 6, 1967 in Silver Spring, Maryland. He grew up with his sister, Lynn, his only sibling. He came to the University of South Carolina having played in a band previously with Dean Felber (the Bassist). Mark heard Darius singing along with a radio in his dorm and tracked him down. They got together and started an accoustic band playing at local clubs in Columbia, South Carolina.

Mark and his wife have two children, I think their daughter is about 2... and their second child, a son, was born in September, 1999. I hope the baby has Mark's curls... *grinz*
I was told he looks just like his daddy... *smiles*

Well! I'm sure you all know about Mark's solo album that's coming out March 14, 2000...
There is an article on the Atlantic Records site that tells more about it.
Just in case the article is gone, here it is in its entirety.

"Mark Bryan of Hootie Renown to Release Solo Project Jan 11, 2000 When you’re part of a band that’s as prolific as the boys of Hootie and the Blowfish , there can be a downside – but an acceptable one. With so much songwriting talent there ends up being a surplus of songs, many of which don’t get heard by the public. That, in a sense, is what the new album by Hootie guitarist Mark Bryan is all about. Though still an enthusiastic Blowfish, Mark needed an avenue to release even more music, and so comes his solo release, 30 ON THE RAIL. The folksy feeling acoustic-led album features a roster encompassing many of the country-flavored musicians Mark himself most respects. Among those on the esteemed track list are: bass player Don Dixon, Peter Holsapple of the Continental Drifters (playing keyboards and harmonica among other instruments), and drummer Fred Leblanc from Cowboy Mouth, plus Hootie percussionist Gary Greene. Also lending a hand on select tracks were Danielle Howle, Hobex, and Blue Dogs bassist and backing vocalist Hank Futch. The album is slated for release on March 14, 2000."
