HISTORY

SUMMER HOLIDAYS 1997
PUBLIC ENEMA began as a band name for my demo debut album. The album, Beyond the Forest (named after a Bette Davis movie) consisted of 16 tracks of what could possibly be described as industrial pop music, composed on a laptop with demo software and recorded straight to tape.  For more info see the Bandstand (aka www.5ftsonicsanta.com)

ONE COLD MONDAY NIGHT IN FEBRUARY 1998
The idea for a web site came from a drunken spontaneous Polaroid fest. I went to my local pub with Sweet Daddy Jones, took home some more alcohol, and a top photo-shoot developed. Luckily props were at hand. After much vomit, beer-swilling, rubber gloves and laughter, we put captions to the Polaroids and I uttered the immortal words, "I've gotta get these on the Internet..." Sometime after 4:00 am An Evening with Bette Davis was born.

VALENTINE'S DAY, FEBRUARY 14TH 1998
I was due to appear in a queer Blind Date Competition at a gay club in Manchester, England. Accompanied by Johnny Super-Fly Martinez for moral support and photography, it was on that night where the sequel A Blind Date with Bette Davis was shot.

24TH FEBRUARY 1998
The shabby looking first web site the World of Bette Davis opened and was the start of all this nonsense you see before you.
