Hi. First of all, welcome to my homepage. Here, you may be able to find any information about me that you want. There are lots of pages, so, if you have patience and time, check each of them. :-)

Besides many other things, I am an Ansi maker. Ansi stands for "American National Standard Institute", but nevermind this name, it doesn't have much meaning with the Ansi Art stuff!

Ansi Screen is the name of the colored text screens used in BBS's (Bulletin Board Systems). They are normal DOS-Text mode screens with colors. But as time passed, some creative users have developed a way of doing nice drawings using text characters like the ones with code 219, 220, 177, etc (retangular blocks, etc). This screens are used in BBS's and in some DOS programs.

Here on your left you can see an example of an ansi screen. It is a drawing of myself done by myself on AcidDraw.

Probably you have never ever heard about the Computer Underground Art Scene, but, due to the internet, it is really spreaded all over the world. I have met many ansi artists from all over the world on irc (internet relay chat).
If you want, read ACiD's Introduction to the Computer Underground Art Scene.

In the underground art scene, I use the handle Rorshack. Rorshack is a handle created by me. It is a combination of many things: It's a different way for talking 'Raw Shark'; Rorschach (note the different spelling) is a psychologist that lived in the 18th century (between other things, he developed the Rorschach test, that test with the ink blots); and also, Rorschach is an character from Watchmen, a comic serie released by DC Comics on 1986 (this serie was a revolution in the comics area).

I have also founded an art group (like ACID, ICE, etc). The name is Maiden Brazil. It is currently the biggest, best and strongest brazilian art group (ask anyone that knows it). So, see the Maiden Brazil Homepage
