Autumn

Beautiful golden leaves come now
And decorate the ground.
It is now that time of year
For you to leave your home.
Soon you will be combed into a dome.
Kids will jump and play
With big smiles on their faces.
Until you are swept to that big dark place.
Ghosts and goblins will go door to door
On their candy search.
All around they lurch.
You can hear them approach.
Crunch, crunch...you will hear.
And you'll know they are near.
Through the night the wind whistles.
I know it's cold
But you must be bold.
This is just the beginning.
Night will come early.
Then the ground will become pearly.
Autumn is here.
And winter is on the way.
