It's a life less ordinary when it comes to Roger Chong. Born to Cambodian immigrants, Roger grew up in the suburbs of Southern California. It was there that Roger began to develop his love and appreciation for the craft of film. He cites that his experiences as a youth will be his biggest influences for his work.

Roger started his career off young, when only at the age of 14, he worked for a local access show, camera operating for local events across Southern California. Quickly, He moved upwards to become a prominent part of the show, working as a producer. At the same time, he was helping his high school build their brand new video production course from his self-taught lessons out on the field.

Quickly after high school graduation in 2002 (before even turning 18), Roger moved out to Los Angeles to chase the dream and has been pushing his limits since than. Juggling both his career in film and his full time student status, Roger finally graduated from The Art Institute of CA � Los Angeles with a Bachelor�s Degree in Film/TV Production. And over the years, he gained massive amounts of experience, with various roles shifting from production assistant, to sound recordist, to production management, to writer/director/producer, and everything else in between.

For a short while, he was the executive producer and ran a local access magazine show called Sunset Stripped, showcasing all the hidden secrets that LA has to offer, from chic restaurants to enganging shows to trendy shops. The show is now being syndicated across the states.

Under his belt, Roger has worked on tons of short films and indie projects, most as a writer, director, or producer. �Disposable,� a 35mm short film about nursing homes, has been an official selection at the LA Shorts Fest and has been screened multiple times in the US and Europe. His many other films (Foreboding, Dream Realm, etc.) has also gained much acclaim amongst his peers.

Though, it may seem like he�s only been on small projects that the mass public never sees, Roger has also been a part of many reputable companies. He was an online reporter for the young production company, Fox Atomic, another branch of 20th Century Fox. Other employers also include MTV, Mark Burnett Productions, Next Entertainment, and the Pritcher Company.

Roger co-founded and runs the filming alliance, �Group Six,� a fellowship dedicated to producing a short film every week. It challenges filmmakers to think on their feet and not regret their choices. It also turns out to be good training for life in general. Though these weekly projects were meant for the purpose of refining craft, some of the short films have gone on to win awards.

At the moment, Roger has set focus to his career as a screenwriter. He�s finished a screenplay entitled, �The Escape,� which examines the strength of a family�s love during the turmoil of Afghanistan in 1978. The script is now being shopped around town, hoping to begin production soon. But as always, he�s beginning work on many other project in the meantime, including a highly anticipated action/thriller script about a powerful religious cult who controls the entire country of Columbia.

With strong goals, solid surroundings, and ceative inginuity, Roger Chong is sure to make his mark in the industry in the not too distant future.
