Benny & Björn
At Home In Theatre
It became apparent with The Girl With The Golden Hair- Benny and Björn
could do more with music than just write cheery pop music for their significant others. They had
the ability to make musicials. During the final years of ABBA, they began work on Chess with
Sir Tim Rice. Chess, upon its debut, received critical acclaim, spawning songs
that went to #1 on the charts.
But Benny and Björn didn't stop there. They knew they were onto something. Their
second work was Kristina fran Duvemala, a piece about Swedish immigrants in America.
Kristina was well received also, but not on the levels that
Chess had received. Benny and Björn continued.

Benny and Björn's greatest masterpiece (to date) appears to be the box-office
sensation, Mamma Mia!, based on 20-something ABBA hits.
Mamma Mia! sold out for months in London, where it made its first ever showing, and continues
to do so in Toronto, the site of its North American debut. Critics everywhere are giving rave
reviews and calling it "ABBA-solutely Fab!"

Benny and Björn are still busy with Mamma Mia!, but it seems we can
safely guess that as soon as they're able, they'll be together again, working to thrill
audiences the world over with their creative magic.
