JASON OF THE LIVING DEAD
				Written by Cody Hamman

Inspired by screenplays by Tom McLoughlin and Ken Wiederhorn

OPEN ON:

Darkness. We look into the dark for a while, waiting to see if anything is
going to come out of it, or if we can make anything out in the dark. After
a while lightning streaks through the dark and we realize we're looking at
the night sky.

Thunder rumbles as we tilt down to see-

EXT. A COUNTRY ROAD - NIGHT

Rain pours down hard and lightning flashes across the sky as a convoy of
Army trucks drive past.

They pass a sign that reads: WELCOME TO CRYSTAL LAKE.

SUPERIMPOSE: 1968

Once the last truck in the convoy passes the sign, we-

CUT TO:

INT. THE LAST TRUCK

This truck is being driven by a YOUNG SOLDIER who's smoking a cigarette.
Riding shotgun is another SOLDIER holding a rifle.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE TRUCK - NIGHT

The back of the truck is filled with large black barrels with domed plastic
lids. Like the barrel seen in RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD. The barrels are held
in the truck with a strap across the back end, but they're bouncing around,
hitting the strap and loosening it a bit every time.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CONVOY - NIGHT

The first truck reaches a small bridge and starts driving over it. Below the
bridge is an overflowing stream, the water rushing along.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE LAST TRUCK - NIGHT

The barrels continue bouncing around in the back.

CUT TO:

INT. THE LAST TRUCK

The soldiers ride in silence, they seem to be oblivious to what's going on
in the back.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE BRIDGE - NIGHT

The other trucks are going over the bridge. As they go we see that the barrels
in the backs of all the other trucks are secure, not moving at all. We also see
that there's a large bump in the road when the trucks reach the bridge. The last
truck is coming up to it.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE LAST TRUCK - NIGHT

The barrels bounce around. The strap holding them in has loosened a lot and is
starting to sag.

CUT TO:

INT. THE LAST TRUCK

The young soldier driving is stubbing his cigarette out in the ashtray while the
soldier with the rifle is lighting a cigarette of his own.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE LAST TRUCK - NIGHT

The truck reaches the bridge, hitting the large bump.

The barrels are bounced around hard, and one is thrown out, over the sagging
strap.

It hits the road on it's side and rolls off the edge of the bridge, falling
down into the water.

The truck just keeps going.

The barrel is swept away in the rushing water.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE BRIDGE - DAY

A 1980s model car is now driving over the bridge.

SUPERIMPOSE: NOW

CUT TO:

INT. THE CAR

Driving is 17 year old CLARE, a party girl type. In the passenger seat is
LINNY, also 17, who looks like a nice girl next door type.

				LINNY
Can't you take me to work first?

				CLARE
			This won't take long.

				LINNY
I just don't want to be late.

				CLARE
Dad's not gonna fire you, Linny. Not
on your first day at least. Are you
really that excited to start working
the register at a hardware store?

				LINNY
No, I'm not excited. But I don't think
it'd be very good to show up late on my
first day when he's only making me work
half a shift in the first place... I just
don't want to let Uncle Carl down.

				CLARE
I've been letting him down for 17 years,
			you get used to it.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CAR - DAY

It drives over a railroad tracks crossing and through the gates of a
cemetery. The sign above the entrance reads: ETERNAL PEACE CEMETERY

CUT TO:

INT. THE CAR

Linny looks around at the cemetery as Clare drives down a dirt path that
cuts through the middle.

				LINNY
			Why are we here?

				CLARE
I told you, Rand wants to show me
			something.

				LINNY
You didn't say it was in a cemetery...

				CLARE
It's not, this is just a short cut.
Haven't you ever been to a party on
			Dugan's Point?

				LINNY
			No.

				CLARE
Figures. You really need to hang out
with me more on the weekends.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CAR - DAY

It pulls up and parks beside two other cars that are parked at the back of
the cemetery.

Clare and Linny get out of the car and walk toward the fence of wrought iron
poles with spiked tops that surround the cemetery. One of the poles is missing
at the back of the cemetery, leaving a space big enough for people to go through.

Clare and Linny go through this space, then head for the woods that is all
around the cemetery.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE WOODS - DAY

Linny and Clare walk through the woods for a while, eventually coming to a
large clearing. They walk out into the clearing, and we see that they're on
a small piece of land that juts out into Crystal Lake.

Already in the clearing are Clare's boyfriend RAND, 18, a rebellious punk,
an 18 year old Asian guy called SZECH, a 19 year old guy dressed in all denim
and bandanas tied around various parts of his body, JESSE, his semi-punk
girlfriend JUSTINE, 19, and an overweight guy in a leather jacket, Z, 20.

				CLARE
			Hey, guys.

Everyone says "hello", "hey", or nods in acknowledgment.

				RAND
			Hey, baby. What's up?

Clare and Rand embrace, kiss.

				CLARE
Not much, just dropping by to see
whatever you want to show me...

Rand looks around.

				RAND
It's a little crowded around here,
we'll have to find somewhere a little
more private if you want to see that.

				CLARE
Get your head out of your pants.

				RAND
That's what I'm talking about doing.

				CLARE
Rand, really. I've got to get Linny
			to the store soon.

				RAND
Fine, fine. Can't have any fun.

Rand looks over at Linny.

				RAND
			How are you doing, Linny?

				LINNY
			Alright...

Linny keeps her hands in her pockets and her head tilted down a bit, she seems
nervous around these people.

				RAND
OK, let's go check this thing out.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE WOODS - SOON

The group walk along through the woods, Rand and Z leading the way.

				CLARE
			Are we almost there?

				Z
			Almost.

				CLARE
What were you guys doing so far out in
			the woods?

				RAND
			Well, we were drunk...

				Z
Like we will be later tonight...

				RAND
And were having trouble walking, so we
decided it'd be really cool if we raced
			through the woods.

				JESSE
You and Z racing? That's no contest.

				Z
Hey, I may have a gut, but this fucker's
still more out of shape than I am.

				JESSE
			Sure.

				SZECH
			So who won?

				RAND
			I did.

				Z
Nobody won, I passed out. It's not fair
			to call a winner.

				RAND
Yeah, Z passed out but I didn't know and
just kept running. Eventually I came across
			this place we're going to.

CUT TO:

EXT. ANOTHER CLEARING - SOON

The group steps out of the woods and into the clearing, looking at
something.

				JESSE
			Whoa.

				SZECH
			This place is awesome!

We pull back to see that they're looking at a large cement drainage pipe that
sticks out of the side of a hill, currently pouring a small amount of water
into a small stream that winds off into the woods. (Exactly the same as the
place the barrel is found in in ROTLD2.)

				JUSTINE
			Where are we?

				RAND
			Just off Cunningham Road.

				JESSE
We need to start having parties here.

				RAND
We can't just abandoned Dugan's Point,
			man.

				JESSE
We don't have to abandon Dugan's Point.
We can party at Dugan's one weekend,
			here the next.

Rand starts climbing up the hill, headed for a cement ledge that's around
the pipe.

				RAND
The location isn't even the best part.
			Come on...

				CLARE
Ew, Rand, I don't want to go in that thing.

				RAND
			Don't be a wimp, Clare.

Rand reaches the ledge.

Szech starts climbing up the hill, followed by the others. Clare and
Linny stay behind, watching.

				Z
Yeah, Clare, don't be a wimp!

Clare sighs and starts to follow the others up the hill.

Linny waits for a beat, then follows.

CUT TO:

INT. THE DRAINAGE PIPE

Rand walks into the pipe, followed by the others one by one. The pipe is
large enough that even the tallest of the group can stand in it.

Rand goes a few yards into the pipe, to a bunch of junk that has been lodged
up against a large tree trunk at the side of the pipe. Among the junk is a
black barrel. The barrel that fell off the truck at the beginning. Now covered
with mud, leaves and rust.

				RAND
			Here it is.

				JESSE
				(sarcastic)
			Wow. A barrel.

				Z
			Read what it says, numbnuts.

Rand brushes some mud off the side, making something on the side easier
to see-

Stenciled on the side of the barrel, white lettering, is-

PROPERTY
DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY
IN CASE OF EMERGENCY
CALL 1 (800) 454-8000

				SZECH
			Awesome!

				JESSE
			Did you guys open it?

				RAND
I tried, but couldn't get it.

Jesse kneels down beside the barrel.

				JUSTINE
			Don't open it!

				JESSE
			Why not?

				JUSTINE
Who knows what's in there? It could
			be germs or something.

				JESSE
I doubt they keep barrels o' germs,
			Jus.

Jesse pulls on the plastic lid, but it doesn't move. Szech kneels down
beside him.

				CLARE
			Justine's right, I really don't think
			you guys should open it.

				JUSTINE
I think we should call that number and
			just leave it alone.

				Z
No fucking way. This is too cool to just
give away, especially to the fucking Army.

Szech finds a panel of buttons on the side of the barrel.

				SZECH
			Buttons here...

Szech pushes a button and the plastic lid quickly flips open.

				JESSE
			Nice.

The top of the barrel under the plastic lid has a small glass window
in it. At that can be seen inside the barrel is darkness. Everyone leans
in to get a closer look.

The rotten face of a corpse quickly comes into view.

Everyone yells and jumps back, Jesse and Szech quickly standing up.

				JESSE
			Holy shit!

				CLARE
			What the hell is that?

				Z
Looks like a dead body to me, folks.

				RAND
Why would the Army put a body in a barrel?

				JUSTINE
I don't wanna know. I told you not to mess
			around with it!

				CLARE
That's it, I'm getting out of here. Come
			on, Linny.

Clare turns and starts walking out of the pipe.

Linny stays behind for a moment, looking at the barrel. Then she turns
and follows Clare.

				RAND
You're still coming to the party tonight,
			right?

CUT TO:

EXT. THE TOWN OF CRYSTAL LAKE - DAY

We look over the main street of Crystal Lake, then turn to watch as Clare's
car pulls up in front of a building. A sign on the building reads- WILSON'S
HARDWARE

CUT TO:

INT. THE CAR

Clare and Linny sit in the car, talking.

				CLARE
Don't tell anyone about that barrel,
			OK?

				LINNY
Don't you think we should call that
			number?

				CLARE
No... Not yet anyway. Let Rand and
the others figure out what they want
to do. If they get too childish about
it, then we'll bring in the Army.

Clare laughs.

				LINNY
Alright... Are you going to the party
			tonight?

				CLARE
			Yeah. You want to come?

				LINNY
			Not really.

				CLARE
			Come on, Linny, you need...

Clare is interrupted by a loud knocking on her window.

Clare and Linny look over to see that Clare's father, Linny's uncle,
CARL, 50, is standing beside the car.

CUT TO:

INT. WILSON'S HARDWARE

Linny and Carl enter as we see Clare's car drive away in the background.

				CARL
			You're twenty minutes late.

				LINNY
			I'm sorry, uncle Carl.

				CARL
Not a very good way to start off.

				LINNY
			I know, I'm sorry, it's just...

				CARL
				(interrupts)
			It's alright, it's not like we're a
huge business here. Just get to work,
and don't make tardiness a habit.

Linny goes around the counter and takes her position by the cash register.

				CARL
I'll be in the back for a while. If
you need help with anything, just let
			me know.

				LINNY
			OK.

Carl walks off to the back of the store and goes through a door to the back
of the building.

Linny is left alone in the store. She stands there for a while, looks around
at the empty aisles of hardware, then sighs and leans on the counter.

CUT TO:

EXT. A DIRT ROAD - DAY

The road cuts through the middle of the woods. Parked on the side of the road
is one of the cars we saw in the cemetery earlier, leaning against it are Rand,
Jesse and Z, passing around a joint. Justine is sitting in the car, listening
to the radio.

				JESSE
			Have any theories?

				RAND
			About what?

				JESSE
Why the Army would ship dead bodies
			around in barrels like that.

				Z
			It's a mystery to me.

				RAND
Maybe the person was infected with
some disease and he died, so they
were shipping the body somewhere for
further testing... That's all I can
			imagine.

				Z
It's pretty fucking creepy no matter
			what.
				(beat)
It'd be great for tonight's party,
			though.

				RAND
			How do you mean?

				Z
I say we haul it out of that pipe,
put the barrel right next to the
kegs. That would be cool as hell.

				JESSE
			Speaking of the kegs...

Jesse points down the dirt road and everyone looks in that direction.

A pickup truck is driving down the road, kegs in the back. Driving is a
raggedy dressed friend of their's, CORT, 21.

CUT TO:

INT. WILSON'S HARDWARE

Through the front window we see a junky old pickup truck pull up in front
of the store.

Linny looks at the truck through the window.

The truck is shut off, and two people get out of it. Getting out of the
passenger side is DAVE, a jittery, twitchy, nervous man of about 22. The
driver is TOMMY JARVIS, 18. A regular looking kid, though there's something
"haunted" about him.

Tommy and Dave enter the store, causing the bells on the door to jingle.
They step in and look around as the door closes behind them.

				LINNY
			Hi.

				DAVE
			Hey.

Tommy gives her a nod.

				LINNY
Can I help you guys with anything?

Dave looks at Tommy, then back at Linny.

				DAVE
			N-no, I think we've got it.

CUT TO:

INT. WILSON'S HARDWARE - SOON

We pan over a row of shovels hanging on the wall. When we're nearing the
end of the row, a hand reaches in and grabs one of the shovels, pulling
it down.

We pull back to see that Tommy has taken down the shovel. He takes down
a second one.

In another aisle, Dave grabs a lantern.

Cut to a CU of a crowbar as a hand reaches into the shot and grabs it.

CUT TO:

INT. WILSON'S HARDWARE - SOON

Tommy and Dave walk up to the counter, carrying the things we've seen
them get.

				LINNY
			Find everything you needed?

				TOMMY
			Yeah.

Linny looks at the price tags on the items Tommy and Dave have brought
to her, typing the prices into the cash register.

Tommy watches her as she does this. She looks up at him and they make
eye contact very quickly, before Tommy looks away, out the front window.

The door bells jingle and Linny looks back at the door.

LINNY’S P.O.V. - Clare comes walking into the store. She’s changed into
her party clothes, a black dress with some goth/punky apparel.

				CLARE
			Hey. How’s it going?

				LINNY
Alright. What are you doing here?

				CLARE
Well, I’m about ready to head out to
the party, and seeing as it’s almost
closing time I thought I’d stop by and
see if I could get you to go.

				LINNY
Clare, I told you, I don’t want to go to
			the party.

				CLARE
I know. But I want you to, and I will
peer pressure the hell out of you until
			you do.

Linny motions her head toward Tommy and Dave.

				LINNY
I can’t really talk about this right now.

				DAVE
			I don’t mind.

Linny has finished typing the prices into the register and has Tommy and
Dave’s total. She tells them what it is, and Tommy reaches into his pocket,
pulling out a wallet.

				CLARE
Why don’t you want to go?

				LINNY
I just don’t feel comfortable around
			your friends.

				CLARE
			You don’t feel comfortable around
			anybody.

				LINNY
			Well there you go.

Tommy hands Linny some money. She opens the register and goes about getting
him his change.

				CLARE
			Come to the party, Linny.

				LINNY
			No.

				CLARE
			Come to the party.

				LINNY
			No.

				CLARE
I’m going to say it over and over
until you get so sick of me you say
“yes” just to shut me up. Come to
			the party.

Linny ignores her.

				CLARE
			Come to the party.

Linny has Tommy’s change. He holds his hand out as she puts the change in
his palm, counting it out. Their hands touch briefly as she does this, and
they again make quick eye contact before they both look back down at his
hand. She finishes counting.

				LINNY
			There you go.

				TOMMY
			Thanks.

				CLARE
Come to the party, come to the party,
come to the party, come to the party,
come to the party, come to the party...

Tommy and Dave take their things and head for the door.

				LINNY
			Have a nice day.

				CLARE
Come to the party, come to the party, come
			to the party...

Tommy reaches the door, opens it with a jingle of the bells, and walks out-
side. Dave follows, stopping the doorway to look back at Linny and Clare.

				CLARE
			Come to the party...

				DAVE
God, please, just go to the party with
			her.

Dave steps outside and the door swings shut behind him.

Clare laughs.

CUT TO:

EXT. DUGAN’S POINT - EVENING

Cort’s pickup is parked very near the edge of the point, the kegs set up in
front of it. A couple other cars have pulled onto the point, and a small group
of people are milling around in the center of everything.

CUT TO:

INT. WILSON’S HARDWARE

Linny and Clare are behind the counter, Clare leaning against the wall as
she unwraps a pack of gum.

				LINNY
So if I don’t like it, you’ll drop
whatever you’re doing and take me
			home.

				CLARE
			That’s the deal.

				LINNY
			You promise?

				CLARE
Cross my heart, hope to die...

The door to the back of the building opens and Carl comes out.

				CLARE
			Hey, daddy.

				CARL
Clare. What are you up to?

				CLARE
Not much. Waiting for Linny so we
			can go party.

				CARL
Where is this party going to be?

				CLARE
			Just a friend’s house. It’s a friend of
Justine’s, so I’m not really sure.

				CARL
What will you be doing there?

				CLARE
			Hanging out.

				CARL
Those are just hanging out clothes?

				CLARE
			Sure.

				CARL
			Right.

Carl goes to the front door.

				CARL
So, how’d things go for you today,
			Linny?

				LINNY
			Fine.

				CARL
You going to be coming in tomorrow?

				LINNY
Yeah, if I still have the job.

				CARL
Of course you’ve still got the job. I
didn’t hear of any customers losing any
limbs today, so I’d say you did pretty
			good.

Carl flips the sign in the door from OPEN to CLOSED.

CUT TO:

EXT. DUGAN’S POINT - DUSK

More cars have pulled onto the point, parking in a semi-circle, their
headlights left on to shine on the larger group of people milling around.

CUT TO:

EXT. A BACK ROAD - DUSK

A wolf is munching on road kill in the center of the road.

Tommy’s pickup rounds a nearby corner and the wolf runs off into the woods.

CUT TO:

INT. TOMMY’S TRUCK

Tommy drives while Dave rides shotgun, nervously chewing a straw and holding
a hockey mask.

				DAVE
I don't know how you talked me into this,
			Tommy.
				(laughs)
			Hell, I must be crazy...
				(beat)
If the institution found out about this,
we'll end up back in straitjackets.
			Permanently.

				TOMMY
You didn't have to come, Dave. This is
			between me and Jason.

				DAVE
I know... I just don't get the therapy
here. All you need to know is Jason's
dead, right? Seeing his corpse ain't
			gonna stop the hallucinations.

				TOMMY
Seeing it won't... but destroying it
will. Jason belongs in Hell. I'm gonna
			see he gets there.

Dave gets a worried look. He looks through the back window, at a gas can in
the truck bed.

CUT TO:

EXT. DUGAN'S POINT - NIGHT

Lots of cars are parked around the point now, and there are a lot of people
partying, drinking beer and dancing to the music blaring from some of the cars.

Among the partiers are Jesse and Justine, dancing.

Z comes walking up to them, beer in hand.

				Z
Hey, Jesse. Let's go get that...

Z sees that Justine is looking at him, doesn't want her to know what he's
talking about.

				Z
...that thing we wanted to put by the
kegs, before any more people show up.

				JESSE
I didn't want it by the kegs, you did.

				Z
So, just help me get it.

				JUSTINE
			What are you talking about?

				Z
			Uh... nothing.

Jesse turns his back on Z, going back to dancing.

				Z
Alright, fine. I'll get it my damn self.

Z turns to walk away, then he turns back to Jesse, grabs him by the arm and
starts dragging him away.

				JESSE
			Damn it, Z.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CEMETERY - NIGHT

Tommy's truck drives over the railroad tracks and through the gate.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CEMETERY - NIGHT

Tommy and Dave walk through the cemetery, carrying the stuff they bought
at the hardware store, along with the gas can and hockey mask. As they walk
along, the wind starts to pick up. Thunder rumbles.

Tommy and Dave walk up to a tombstone on one side of the cemetery. Thunder
rumbles again, lightning flashes as Tommy looks at the tombstone.

TOMMY'S P.O.V. - Lightning illuminates the name on the stone -
JASON VOORHEES.

Tommy stares at the stone while Dave stands beside him.

				DAVE
			OK, there it is...
				(beat)
			There's his grave...
				(long beat)
			OK, let's go.

Dave turns to leave, but Tommy grabs his shoulder.

				TOMMY
			Wait a second.

				DAVE
			What?

				TOMMY
			I've gotta be sure.

Tommy takes a shovel and starts digging up Jason's grave.

Dave watches him, looks around to make sure they're alone.

DAVE'S P.O.V. - In a flash of lightning we see four cars are parked at
the back of the cemetery.

				DAVE
			Oh, shit, Tommy. Somebody's here.

Tommy stops and looks in the direction Dave is.

				TOMMY
We'd better get this done then, huh?

Tommy goes back to digging.

				DAVE
			Shit...

Dave sets his lantern down, tosses the hockey mask aside and starts digging.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE DRAIN PIPE - NIGHT

Z and Jesse walk up to the drain pipe as thunder rumbles again.

Jesse looks up at the sky.

				CORT
Shit. Sounds like the party's gonna
			be getting wet tonight.

				Z
			Yeah.

Z starts to climb up the hill to the pipe.

CUT TO:

EXT. CLARE'S CAR - NIGHT

The car is driving down a country road.

CUT TO:

INT. CLARE'S CAR

Clare is driving. Linny, having changed her clothes, is looking out at the
windy, lightning filled night.

				LINNY
			It's gonna storm...

				CLARE
That's alright. If you stand in the
right places, you can stay pretty dry.
If it gets too bad, you can still
			party in a car.

Linny sighs.

				LINNY
I don't know how you talked me into
			this.

CUT TO:

INT. THE DRAIN PIPE

Z and Jesse are just finishing setting the barrel up.

				Z
This gonna be cool as fuck.

				JESSE
Yeah, great. We should cover up the
number and stuff with something, though,
so nobody calls and gets our asses in
			a sling.

Z scoops up some mud from the edge of the pipe, rubs it over the stenciling
on the barrel.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CEMETERY - NIGHT

Tommy and Dave continue digging up Jason's grave. They're at least five feet
down already.

CUT TO:

INT. THE DRAIN PIPE

Z and Jesse are carrying the barrel toward the end of the pipe. Z reaches
the end and starts backing out onto the ledge.

				Z
Be really fucking careful now, man.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE DRAIN PIPE - NIGHT

Z backs along the ledge as Jesse steps out onto the ledge with him. They
carry it along the ledge, then Z steps back onto the hillside.

There's a huge crack of thunder at the same moment that Z slips, falling
down. Jesse loses his grip on the barrel and it falls, too.

Z and the barrel go rolling down the hill.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CEMETERY - NIGHT

Dave has climbed out of the grave, Tommy is scraping dirt off the lid
of Jason's wooden coffin.

				DAVE
OK, there's your proof. There's his
			coffin. Let's go!

Tommy hands the shovel up to Dave.

				TOMMY
			Hand me the crowbar.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE DRAIN PIPE - NIGHT

Z and the barrel are laying on the ground at the bottom of the hill as
Jesse comes hurrying down to them.

				JESSE
			Are you alright?

Z sits up.

				Z
			Yeah...

He climbs to his feet.

				Z
			Is the barrel alright?

				JESSE
			Looks fine.

They bend down and grab the barrel to start carrying it again. Z's hand
hits a button on the side of the barrel. There's a beeping noise.

				Z
			Whoops.

A huge blast of yellow gas suddenly bursts out of the barrel, hitting Z
and Jesse in the face.

Z and Jesse drop the barrel, coughing and gagging as they fall to the ground.

Yellow gas continues to pump out of the barrel, covering the ground around
it. Spreading outward.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE WOODS - NIGHT

The yellow gas moves along the ground.

CUT TO:

EXT. DUGAN'S POINT - NIGHT

The party continues as the gas spreads out across the point, swirling
around the feet of the partiers.

EXT. THE CEMETERY - NIGHT

Tommy is prying Jason's coffin open with the crowbar.

Once the lid has popped up a bit, Tommy looks up at Dave. He then bends
down to the coffin and slowly opens it.

The coffin lid creaks loudly as it opens, eventually revealing the corpse
of JASON VOORHEES laying inside. Rotten, covered in dust, cobwebs and maggots.

Dave looks disgusted, tries not to puke.

Tommy stares down at Jason. Breathing heavily. We hear his thoughts, voices
from the past. Young Tommy's voice yelling "Die!" as he hit Jason over and
over with the machete, his sister's screams...

Tommy snaps. He drops to his knees, raising the crowbar high above his head,
bringing the straight end down into Jason's chest.

				TOMMY
			Bastard!

Tommy stabs Jason with the crowbar over and over.

After stabbing Jason over a dozen times, Tommy finally regains control. He
leaves the crowbar stuck in Jason's chest and climbs out of the grave.

At the back of the cemetery, the yellow gas is seeping in under the wrought
iron fence and is spreading out past the parked cars.

Back at Jason's grave, Tommy grabs the hockey mask as he gets to his feet.

				DAVE
Man... he must've really messed you
			over...

Tommy looks at the mask for a moment, then tosses it into the grave.

				TOMMY
			Yeah, screw you Jason.

Tommy walks over to the gas can, sitting on the ground nearby.

As Tommy does this, Dave looks at the yellow gas that has reached his feet.
He looks around and sees that it's all over the cemetery.

				DAVE
			What the hell...

Dave turns his attention back to Tommy, who has picked up the gas can and is
carrying it back to the grave.

The yellow gas seeps down into the grave, swirling around Jason's body.

Jason's eyes pop open.

Dave and Tommy aren't looking at him.

				DAVE
Are you sure this will help? I mean,
putting him in the ground obviously
			didn't...

				TOMMY
If I know he doesn't exist at all...
that he's just a pile of ash... I
think I'll be able to move on.

They stand in silence for a moment, then-

				DAVE
			Let's get it done then.

They turn their attention back to the grave, and at that same second Jason
comes bursting up out of the grave, grabbing at Tommy's legs.

Tommy screams, hurrying back away from the grave. Dave screams and runs away.

Tommy backs away from the grave, frantically trying to get the lid off the
gas can as Jason climbs out of the grave, holding the crowbar.

Tommy gets the lid off and splashes the gas into Jason's face.

Jason gets to his feet and hurries toward Tommy. This isn't a slow walking
zombie Jason, this is a zombie Jason that can run just as well as he did in
2-4.

Tommy throws the whole gas can at Jason, the can hitting Jason in the chest
upside down, spilling more gas down his front.

Tommy turns and runs away, Jason runs after him.

As Tommy runs he reaches into a coat pocket, fumbling, trying to get something
out of it. He finally does - a Zippo lighter.

Tommy loses Jason among a cluster of small tombs, ducking behind one.

Jason walks among the tombs, looking around. He walks toward the tomb Tommy's
hiding behind.

Dave comes running up behind Jason, shovel in hand, screaming.

				DAVE
			You're supposed to be dead!

He slams the shovel into the back of Jason's head and it breaks in half.

Jason spins around, swinging the hooked end of the crowbar into Dave's neck.
He hooks it around Dave's jugular, then brutally rips it out.

Blood bursts out of Dave's neck and mouth as he falls to the ground.

				TOMMY
				(O.S.)
			Dave!!

Jason turns around to see Tommy standing a few feet in front of him,
holding the Zippo. The Zippo is lit.

The storm finally breaks and rain starts to pour down hard at the same
moment that Tommy tosses the Zippo against Jason's chest.

The rain washes down over Jason, so the Zippo's flame doesn't ignite the
gasoline.

The rain causes the yellow gas to start seeping into the ground.

				TOMMY
			Oh, shit.

Jason drops the crowbar, grabs Tommy by the shoulders and tosses him to
the side.

Tommy slams into one of the tomb's doors and doors break. Tommy falls into
the tomb, landing on the floor between two coffins. He doesn't move.

Jason turns and walks away.

CUT TO:

EXT. DUGAN'S POINT - NIGHT

The partiers react to the rainfall, some running off to get under the
cover of trees or into cars, others just continue to party in the rain.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CEMETERY - NIGHT

Jason has returned to his grave. He picks the hockey mask up off the
ground and puts it on.

He looks around as lightning flashes. He spots the cars parked at the back
of the cemetery and starts walking that way.

CUT TO:

EXT. CLARE'S CAR - NIGHT

Clare's car is pulling up to the railroad tracks in front of the cemetery
gate. In the distance we see a train coming down the tracks, but Clare has
plenty of time. She drives over the tracks and through the gates.

CUT TO:

INT. CLARE'S CAR

Clare and Linny ride in the car, Linny looking out her window.

LINNY'S P.O.V. - She sees Tommy's truck parked on a path that branches off
from the one Clare's driving down.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CEMETERY - NIGHT

Jason is behind the back fence, ripping one of the fence poles out. Once
he has the spiked pole, he walks off into the woods. As soon as he disappears
from view, through the fence we see Clare's car pulling up to join the other
cars parked at the back of the cemetery.

CUT TO:

INT. CLARE'S CAR

Clare shuts the car off, but she and Linny stay in the car, looking out at
the pouring rain.

				CLARE
You want to wait for it to die
down, or do you want to head out?

				LINNY
			Let's wait for a minute.

CUT TO:

EXT. DUGAN'S POINT - NIGHT

The party continues despite the rainfall, but most people are now in their
cars. There are only about a dozen people still out in the rain.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CEMETERY - NIGHT

We watch the rain pouring on the ground.

CUT TO:

INT. THE GROUND

We watch the rain/yellow gas mixture seep down through the dirt. It goes six
feet down and reaches a coffin.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE WOODS - NIGHT

Jason walks through the woods, carrying his fence pole weapon.

CUT TO:

EXT. DUGAN'S POINT - NIGHT

We look over the parked cars. In one of the cars are Rand, Justine, Szech and
Cort.

CUT TO:

INT. THE CAR

Rand and Cort are drinking, Szech is for some reason watching his hand as he
waves it back and forth in front of his face, and Justine is staring through
the windshield, toward the woods.

				JUSTINE
Where do you think Jesse and Z
went? They've been gone a while.

				RAND
Oh, the sad bastards probably went
			to get the barrel.

				CORT
			What barrel?

				JUSTINE
			Get it for what?

				RAND
Z had this idea, he wanted to set
it up beside the kegs. Thought it
			be cool.

				JUSTINE
God, you guys can be real dumbasses
			some times.

				SZECH
			Thank you!

				CORT
			What barrel?

JUSTINE'S P.O.V. - Jesse and Z come stumbling out of the woods and onto
Dugan's Point, coughing.

				JUSTINE
			There they are.

Szech lowers his hand to look at them as they start walking toward the cars.

				SZECH
			They don't look too good.

CUT TO:

EXT. DUGAN'S POINT - NIGHT

The rain starts to slow down as Z and Jesse slowly make their way across
Dugan's Point. They stop as Justine, Rand, Szech and Cort come hurrying up
to them.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE WOODS - NIGHT

From behind a clustering of trees, we watch as Justine checks on Jesse and
the others stand around them.

CUT TO:

EXT. DUGAN'S POINT - NIGHT

We join the group of Jesse, Justine, Z, Rand, Szech and Cort.

				JUSTINE
			Are you alright?

				JESSE
			I don't know... I don't feel very
			good...

				RAND
			What the hell happened?

				Z
			That fucking barrel... We were
carrying it out of the pipe, then
			this fucking gas started pumping
			out of it.

				JESSE
			Hit us in the face.

				JUSTINE
			Oh my God.

				JESSE
			What?

				JUSTINE
Well, who knows what it could have
been? We need to get you guys to a
			hospital.

				Z
Eat a bowl of fuck! I'm not going to
			the hospital.

				RAND
You could be poisoned or something, man.

				Z
Bullshit. Just give me a fucking beer,
			I'll be fine.

Speaking of beer, a rain-soaked partier is making his way over to a keg,
plastic cup in hand. The keg is set up right at the edge of the woods. He
reaches the keg, goes to get more beer, when he's suddenly hit by a huge
blast of beer. He looks disturbed, and looks down to see what's going on.

We pull back to see that the spiked fence pole has been stuck through the
keg and is sticking into the partier's stomach.

The pole is quickly pulled out of the partier and the keg and he falls to
the ground, dead.

Jason walks out of the woods, fence pole in hand, headed straight for the
few dancing and talking anonymous partiers that are still outside.

The partiers don't notice Jason as he approaches. The first people he'll
reach are a guy and girl dancing. He walks up behind the guy, jams the fence
pole into his back.

The girl screams as the pole comes ripping through her dance partner's chest,
the spiked tip stopping less than a foot in front of her face.

Jason jams the pole further into the guy, and the spiked tip slams right into
the girl's face.

Jesse, Justine, Z, Rand, Szech and Cort turn to see what's happening when
there's another scream, followed by even more.

RAND'S P.O.V. - Jason has impaled another female partier on the fence pole,
and is lifting her up in the air on the pole. When she's over Jason's head
she goes flying off the pole and over the edge of Dugan's Point, into Crystal
Lake.

				RAND
			Holy shit!

A male partier runs up and punches Jason in the chest. Jason hits him in the
side of the head with the pole with a loud CRACK.

Another partier is running toward Jason, Jason swings the fence pole's spiked
tip across his throat. The partier falls to the ground, clutching his throat
and gurgling blood.

The rest of the partiers are running for their cars.

Jason throws the fence pole and it flies through the air, slamming into the
back of one of the runners. He falls to the ground in front of a parked car,
as another one of the running partiers reaches the car and opens the driver's
door, getting in.

In the background we see a lot of cars quickly driving away.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE WOODS - NIGHT

Rand is running through the woods, followed closely by Cort and Szech. Justine
is lagging behind, hurrying along with Jesse, and Z brings up the rear.

CUT TO:

EXT. DUGAN'S POINT - NIGHT

Jason has reached the car the one partier fell in front of and the other
partier got into. He has stuck the fence pole through the car windshield and
into the partier in the driver's seat.

We hear yelling offscreen and Jason turns around.

JASON'S P.O.V. - Another partier is running off into the woods, past the
beer kegs.

Jason runs after the partier.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CEMETERY - NIGHT

The rain has stopped completely. We pan over the wet cemetery ground as we
hear strange moaning, pained sounds.

CUT TO:

EXT. CLARE'S CAR - NIGHT

The doors open and Clare and Linny get out. They head for the back fence,
when they hear the pained sounds. They stop and look back over the cemetery.

				LINNY
			What is that?

				CLARE
			I don't know...

CUT TO:

EXT. THE DRAIN PIPE - NIGHT

The partier that ran into the woods comes running up in front of the
drain pipe.

The barrel is laying on the ground where it was when we last saw it, but
the lid has been removed and we can see that it's now empty.

The partier looks around, making sure Jason isn't around. The partier then
hurries over to the hill and starts climbing up for the pipe.

CUT TO:

INT. THE DRAIN PIPE

The partier enters the dark pipe, and only takes a couple steps before
something comes bursting out of the darkness.

This something is a tall zombie in dark, ripped clothing. It's skin has
been reduced to a black slime. It's very similar to the TAR MAN from
RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD.

				TAR MAN
			Brains!

The Tar Man grabs the partier, bites into the partier's head.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CEMETERY - NIGHT

Clare and Linny stop listening to the moans and head for the back fence.
Clare notices that a second pole is missing. The one Jason took.

				CLARE
			Another pole's gone.

Clare steps toward the hole in the fence, when Rand suddenly comes bursting
through the hole. Clare jumps back, yelling.

Cort and Szech come through the hole immediately after.

				CLARE
			Rand, what are you doing?

				RAND
We've gotta get out of here.

				CLARE
			Why?

				SZECH
			We've got some trouble!

				CLARE
What are you guys talking about?

				CORT
This guy was killing people back
			at the Point!

				CLARE
				(doesn't believe it)
			What?

Rand has gone to the driver's door of a junky looking car. He's unlocking
the door when he stops, listening to the pained moans. He doesn't listen
for long, though. The noises just make him move faster.

Offscreen, we hear a loud train whistle.

				CORT
Oh, shit. There's a train coming!

Rand gets his door open, gets into it.

				RAND
Get in your car and get out of here,
			Clare.

Six more partiers, who must have passed Justine and the sick ones in the
woods, start pouring through the hole in the fence. They go to the other
parked cars, quickly start getting into them.

Another partier comes through the fence, and he doesn't even bother with a
car. He just starts running across the cemetery.

Clare turns to Linny.

				CLARE
			I don't know what the hell's going
on, but we're getting out of here.

				LINNY
			Good.

Clare and Linny go to Clare's car. As they do, Justine, Jesse and Z start
coming through the hole in the fence.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE DRAIN PIPE - NIGHT

Jason steps up in front of the drain pipe and looks around. He spots the
pipe, walks toward the hill.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CEMETERY - NIGHT

The partier that decided to run through the cemetery is still doing just
that... For a while. He then trips and falls into a large mud puddle.

				PARTIER
			Damn...

The partier starts to stand, when a HAND suddenly comes reaching up out of
the puddle, grabbing him by the wrist.

The partier screams. Another hand comes reaching up out of the puddle, grabbing
the partier by the hair and pulling him face first down into the water.

We watch the partier struggle as he's pulled down into the ground, as all around
him ZOMBIES begin to climb out of their graves.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CEMETERY - NIGHT

We pan over the wet ground as zombies start climbing out of every grave in the
cemetery. We eventually reach one of the driveways that cut through the cemetery,
just as a car drives by.

We turn to watch the car speed through the cemetery, toward the gates. Just before
the car reaches the gates, a train starts going past on the railroad tracks. The
driver of the car has to slam on it's brakes to keep from crashing into the side
of the train.

CUT TO:

INT. THE DRAIN PIPE

Jason enters, stops a couple steps in.

JASON'S P.O.V. - Tar Man is kneeling down, feasting on the partier's brain.

Tar Man senses that someone else has entered the pipe, looks back at the entrance
and spots Jason standing there... Jason is just another zombie to Tar Man, so he
ignores him. Goes back to eating the partier's brain.

Jason walks forward, grabs Tar Man by his exposed ribs and pulls him to his feet.

Tar Man will have none of this, he reaches back and grabs Jason by the shoulder
and face, trying to shove him back off of him.

Jason stumbles back, keeping his hold on Tar Man's rib with one hand, while
swinging his other hand up toward Tar Man's head.

Jason's fist hits Tar Man in the side of the head, and his head goes flying off.

Tar Man falls sideways, through the pipe opening. Since Jason is still holding
onto his rib, he falls too.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE DRAIN PIPE - NIGHT

Jason and Tar Man's body fall from the pipe and into the stream.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CEMETERY - NIGHT

The train is still going past, the car was saw have to slam on it’s brakes still
in the same spot.

The passenger door of the car opens, and one of the partiers runs out, toward
the train.

The partier stops a couple feet from the train, hesitates for a second, then
rushes forward. As the front wheels of a box car passes him, he ducks down and
starts crawling under the train as fast he can.

He gets under the train before the back wheels of the box car can catch him, then
he waits under the train as the front wheels of the next car go past. He then
scrambles forward, and-

He’s not fast enough. The back wheels of this car catch him, cutting him in half
at the waist.

The three partiers still in the car react to the sight of their friend being run
over by the train.

A car with two partiers in it pulls up behind the first car, followed by Rand's
car and Clare's car.

A large group of zombies crowd around the first car, yelling for “Brains!” Some
zombies go to the closed doors and open them, others start piling into the car
through the open passenger door.

The zombies drag the screaming partiers out of the car and begin tearing them
apart.

Seeing this, the other three cars pull away as zombies run toward them.

Zombies are all over the cemetery now, as the three cars begin driving around
the driveways.

CUT TO:

INT. CLARE’S CAR - NIGHT

Clare is driving, Linny is riding shotgun, Justine, Jesse and Z are in the
backseat.

				JUSTINE
What the hell is going on? Who are
			all these people?

				LINNY
			The dead...

CUT TO:

EXT. A TOMB - NIGHT

This is the tomb Tommy was thrown into. He’s still laying on the floor of
the tomb as the lids of the coffins on each side of him begin to open.

Tommy regains consciousness, looks around to see where he is, then sits up.

As Tommy sits up, so do the rotten corpses in the coffins.

Tommy grabs the side of one of the coffins, using it to pull himself to his
feet, not yet noticing the zombies.

As he pulls himself up, he comes face to face with the zombie in the coffin
he’s holding on to.

TOMMY’S P.O.V - CU of the zombie’s face. The zombie’s eyes widen as it realizes
Tommy is a living person.

				ZOMBIE
			Brains!

Tommy screams, jumping back from the coffin and bumping into the other coffin.
As he does, the zombie in that one reaches out for him.

				OTHER ZOMBIE
			Brains, brains, brains!

				TOMMY
			Shit!

Tommy turns and runs out of the tomb.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CEMETERY - NIGHT

Tommy comes out of the tomb, and he’s among a huge group of zombies.

				TOMMY
			Holy shit!

As a bunch of zombies yell for “Brains!” and rush toward Tommy, he spots the
two pieces of Dave’s shovel laying on the ground. Dave’s body is gone.

Tommy grabs the shovel just as the zombies begin to reach him.

The zombies reach out for him, try to bite him, and Tommy begins using the
shovel pieces to fight for his life. He stabs zombies with the sharp wooden
handle half, hits zombies with the shovels, stabs them with the shovel.

Tommy desperately cuts his way through the sea of zombies, heading toward the
front of the cemetery and his truck.

The three cars continue driving around the cemetery, trying to keep moving
while the train continues going past. Zombies step in front of the front car,
they get run over.

CUT TO:

INT. CLARE'S CAR

Jesse and Z are really pale now, looking terrible. Jesse lays his head back on
the back of the seat, groaning.

				JUSTINE
			What's wrong?

				JESSE
I hurt all over... My head feels
like it's about to burst open...

Linny is staring out her window as the cemetery full of zombies.

LINNY'S P.O.V. - We see Tommy fighting his way through the zombies.

				LINNY
			Stop!

				CLARE
			What?

				LINNY
			Stop, Clare!

				JUSTINE
			We can't stop! These people...

				LINNY
Stop and start honking your horn!
			There's someone out there!

Clare hits the brakes.

				CLARE
Everyone make sure your doors are
			locked!

CUT TO:

EXT. CLARE'S CAR - NIGHT

Clare's car stops, and zombies are immediately all over it. The horn begins
honking.

CUT TO:

INT. CLARE'S CAR

Through the window we watch as zombies block out our view of anything else and
start pounding on the windows. Some zombies try to open the doors, but they're
locked.

				CLARE
If that person isn't in this car
in 30 seconds, I'm not waiting any
			longer.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CEMETERY - NIGHT

Tommy hears the horn as he continues to fight his way through the zombies.

He spots Clare's parked car and heads that way.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE TWO PARTIERS' CAR - NIGHT

The train finally clears the gateway, and the partiers' car drives out.

CUT TO:

INT. RAND'S CAR

Through the windshield we see the partiers' car driving away from the
cemetery.

Rand starts to drive after them. In the passenger seat, Szech is looking
through the back window.

				SZECH
Rand, Clare is stopped back there.

				RAND
			What?

Rand looks in his mirror.

RAND'S P.O.V. - In the mirror we see Clare's parked, zombie-covered car.

				RAND
			Damn.

Rand turns his car around.

CUT TO:

Tommy is about three yards from Clare's car now, continuing to knock down
any zombie that comes at him with the shovel halves.

A zombie comes running up to him, screaming, mouth wide open. The zombie
grabs him and goes to bite him in the head-

Tommy shoves the shovel handle into it's mouth, the sharp tip ripping out the
back of it's neck.

Tommy punches the zombie out of the way and runs toward Clare's car.

The zombies that are on the car turn to Tommy as he gets close to them. There
are two by the front passenger door.

One of these zombies lunges toward Tommy, he grabs it by the arm and turns,
throwing it to the side.

The other zombie at that door stands it's ground. Tommy knocks it out of his
way with the shovel to the side of it's head.

He goes to the door, grabs the handle.

				TOMMY
			Let me in!

CUT TO:

INT. CLARE'S CAR

Linny unlocks her door and slides over on the seat.

Tommy opens the door and hurries in.

				TOMMY
			Thank you.

Tommy starts to pull the door shut, and a zombie reaches in at him.

The door shuts on the zombie's wrist, severing it's hand.

Tommy locks the door, and Clare hits the gas as Rand's car pulls up beside
her.

CUT TO:

INT. RAND'S CAR

Rand starts turning his car around again as Clare drives away.

				RAND
			Jesus...

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CEMETERY - NIGHT

Clare and Rand's cars speed through the cemetery gates, the zombies running
after them.

CUT TO:

INT. CLARE'S CAR

				TOMMY
Does anybody have any idea what
			the hell is going on?

				JUSTINE
There was this barrel, Army property,
we found it in a pipe and these guys
just couldn't leave it alone. It
started leaking, and these two got
hit in the face with the gas.

Clare and Linny react to this. Doesn't sound good for Jesse and Z.

				JUSTINE
I don't know how... the cemetery...
			I don't know.

				CLARE
No kind of gas I ever heard of could
bring the dead back to life.

				Z
Well the Army is obviously into some
			heavy fucking shit.

				LINNY
What were you doing in the cemetery?

				TOMMY
I dug up Jason Voorhees' grave.

				CLARE
			What?

				JUSTINE
What are you, some kind of grave robbing
			freak?

				TOMMY
			No... I'm Tommy Jarvis.

				LINNY
			The kid who killed Jason?

				JUSTINE
I thought Tommy Jarvis was in a mental
			hospital.

				TOMMY
Yeah. I was... Got released last week.
				(beat)
I just wanted to destroy his body. I've
			been having hallucinations ever since...
since I killed him. I thought destroying
his body would make the hallucinations
			stop...
				(beat)
But he came back to life and killed
			my friend.

				LINNY
We need to get to a phone and call the
number on the barrel before those...
			things... can hurt anybody.

				JUSTINE
We can call from the hospital.

				LINNY
We need to call as soon as possible,
from the first house we come across!

				JUSTINE
We can call from the hospital, Linny!
			Jesse and Z need help!

Jesse starts having a coughing fit.

CUT TO:

EXT. A COUNTRY ROAD - NIGHT

A stream runs under a bridge at an intersection of roads.

In the distance we see the headlights of a vehicle driving toward us, it
will soon be driving over the bridge. At first all we can see are the
headlights, as the vehicle gets closer we see that it's a yellow Oldsmobile.

CUT TO:

INT. THE OLDSMOBILE

Driving is MR. MANDEL, a nice looking man in his 50s. MRS. MANDEL, his pleasant
50-something wife, is riding shotgun and nodding off.

We look through the windshield as Mr. Mandel drives down the road.

We see that we're approaching the bridge.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE ROAD - NIGHT

Jason crawls out of the stream beside the intersection bridge, and starts
crawling up the bank up to the road right before the bridge.

CUT TO:

INT. THE OLDSMOBILE

Mr. Mandel continues to drive along. Through the windshield we can see Jason
doing his crawling, but Mr. Mandel doesn't notice him.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE ROAD - NIGHT

Jason reaches the road and stands up - right in the path of the car.

CUT TO:

INT. THE OLDSMOBILE

Now that Jason is standing right in front of the RV, Mr. Mandel notices him.

				MR. MANDEL
			Whoa!

Mr. Mandel slams on the brakes.

The suddeness of this causes Mrs. Mandel to pitch forward and wake up with
a yell.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE ROAD - NIGHT

Despite Mr. Mandel hitting the brakes, there's no way the car can stop before
reaching Jason. It skids down the road as it slows down.

The car slams into Jason, throwing him backwards down the road.

Jason lands in the middle of the road about ten yards down the road. He doesn't
move.

The car comes to a stop right before the bridge.

CUT TO:

INT. THE OLDSMOBILE

Mr. Mandel looks out at Jason's body, freaking out.

				MR. MANDEL
Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God...

Mr. Mandel opens his door, starts to get out of the car.

Mrs. Mandel is confused.

				MRS. MANDEL
			What happened?

				MR. MANDEL
			We just hit someone!

				MRS. MANDEL
			Oh my God...

CUT TO:

EXT. THE OLDSMOBILE - NIGHT

The driver's door opens and Mr. Mandel gets out.

Jason is still laying on the middle of the road, not moving. Mr. Mandel hurries
over to him, stops beside him.

				MR. MANDEL
			Hey, buddy... Are you alright?

Jason doesn't move, and of course he doesn't answer.

				MR. MANDEL
			Buddy?

Mr. Mandel kneels down beside him.

CUT TO:

INT. THE OLDSMOBILE

Mrs. Mandel looks through the windshield. She looks very worried.

MRS. MANDEL'S P.O.V. - Through the windshield we see Mr. Mandel kneeling beside
Jason. As we watch Jason suddenly sits up, grabbing Mr. Mandel by the shoulder
with his left hand. He then punches Mr. Mandel in the chest with his right hand.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE OLDSMOBILE - NIGHT

Jason's hand rips out through Mr. Mandel's back, clutching his heart.

Blood bursts from Mr. Mandel's mouth as he dies.

Jason shoves his body aside and stands up, still holding the heart.

JASON'S P.O.V. - Through the Oldsmobile windshield, we see Mrs. Mandel as she
starts screaming.

Jason runs toward the car.

CUT TO:

INT. THE OLDSMOBILE - NIGHT

Mrs. Mandel slides over the seat, getting behind the steering wheel. Before she
can do anything, Jason reaches the driver's door, grabs it and pulls it open.

Mrs. Mandel screams and tries to get away from the driver's door as Jason lunges
into the car, reaching for her.

CUT TO:

EXT. RAND AND CLARE'S CARS - NIGHT

The cars drive down a country road.

CUT TO:

INT. CLARE'S CAR

The scene is pretty much the same. Clare driving, Linny and Tommy in the
front seat, Justine sitting between Z and Jesse in the back seat as they
moan and groan in pain.

While we're looking at Z, Justine and Jesse, we see the severed zombie hand
crawling on the ledge under the back window.

Z notices the movement out of the corner of his eye and looks back at the hand.

				Z
			What the fuck?

The hand skitters forward and grabs Z by the throat. Z starts yelling, grabbing
the hand, pulling it off his throat and tossing it aside, into Justine's lap.
Justine screams, grabbing the hand and tossing it aside, into Jesse's lap. Jesse
yells, grabbing the hand and tossing it.

This goes on for a while, the three back seat riders yelling and tossing the
hand around.

				CLARE
			What are you guys doing?

				Z
			A hand!

Tommy and Linny look back at them, not sure what's going on.

The hand has been passed to Jesse, and he drops it on the floor. The hand
disappears from view.

The back seat riders look down at the floor, calming down.

Then the hand comes crawling up onto Z's shoulder and grabs him by the side
of the face.

The screaming and tossing starts over again.

Justine throws the hand into the front seat and Linny screams, moving to avoid
it.

The hand lands in Tommy's crotch and grabs him by the balls.

Tommy yells in pain. Linny grabs the hand, pulling it out of Tommy's crotch.

				LINNY
			Roll down your window!

Clare rolls down her window, and Linny tosses the hand out of the car.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CAR - NIGHT

The hand lands in the road on it's back, in front of the driveway to a house.
As the car speeds away, the hand gives it the finger.

CUT TO:

INT. CLARE'S CAR

The car's passengers settle down.

				Z
Jesus Christ... Are there any more
			severed fucking limbs in here?

Clare looks around the front seat, then looks back up at the road.

				CLARE
			Oh, shit!

Clare slams on the brakes.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CARS - NIGHT

We see why Clare slammed on the brakes - Rand's car has went into the other lane
to pass the Mandel's car, and Clare's car is about to crash into the parked
Oldsmobile.

Clare's car tries to stop, screeching along the road, but Clare noticed too
late- her car slams into the back of the Oldsmobile.

CUT TO:

INT. RAND'S CAR

Rand sees the crash in his rear view mirror.

				RAND
			Oh, shit...

Rand hits his brakes, and his car stops in the other lane, a few feet past
in front of the Oldsmobile.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CARS - NIGHT

We look at the cars for a while. The night is silent. After a few seconds, the
driver's door of Rand's car opens and Rand gets out. Szech and Cort follow Rand
out. Clare, Linny and Tommy get out of Clare's car.

				RAND
			What the hell, Clare?

				CLARE
I didn't see it. We... had a problem
			in the car...

CUT TO:

INT. CLARE'S CAR

The passengers calm down after the crash.

				Z
Great. What next, is a fucking plane
gonna crash land on top of us now?

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CARS - NIGHT

As Rand and Clare talk, Tommy and Linny are looking at the Oldsmobile. With
the driver's door gone they can see blood streaked all over the inside of the
vehicle.

				TOMMY
			Something's wrong here...

The back driver's side door of Clare's car opens and Justine gets out.

				JUSTINE
Come on, guys. We've got to get
			out of here!

				RAND
			If you haven't noticed, Justine,
we've got a little problem here.

Rand looks over Clare's car. The front of it is crumpled in, and smoke is pouring
out from under the hood.

				RAND
And I think Clare's car is pretty
			much dead.

				JUSTINE
			Then we'll take your car.

				SZECH
How are we all gonna fit in Rand's car?

				JUSTINE
It will be uncomfortable, but it can
			be done.

				JESSE
				(O.S.)
			Justine!

Justine goes back to Clare's car, gets back into the back seat.

Linny and Tommy are still looking in at the bloody inside of the Oldsmobile.

				LINNY
			That's disgusting.

				TOMMY
			Yeah...

Szech looks down the road ahead of them and spots Mr. Mandel's body laying in
the road.

				SZECH
I think I found the driver.

Tommy looks down the road.

				TOMMY
Yeah... Looks like some of the dead
people got ahead of us somehow...

				RAND
			Great.
				(beat)
Here's what I think we should do...

Before Rand can continue, the driver's side back door of Clare's car opens
again, and this time it's Jesse coming out. He runs to the side of the road
and starts vomiting.

Justine gets out of the car, looking worried.

				JUSTINE
			God... Jesse, baby...

Justine hurries to Jesse's side as he finishes vomiting. She rubs his back and
then turns to the others.

				JUSTINE
What are you doing just standing
			around?!

				RAND
I was just about to say, I think we
should go back to that house we just
passed. We can call the Army from
there, and an ambulance for Jesse and
			Z.

				JUSTINE
We don't have time for all that!

				RAND
Well, that's what I'm doing. You
can do whatever you want. But it
looks like some of those dead things
have already gotten this far, and
that house looks like the best bet
			at the moment.

				JUSTINE
You bastards. Your friends are sick,
and you won't even try to get them to
			a hospital?!

				RAND
I said we'd call an ambulance. But
if you want to try to drive that
Oldsmobile out of here, go ahead.
I don't think the owners will mind.

Justine looks at the gore-streaked Oldsmobile. By the look on her face, we
can tell there's no way she'll be getting near that car.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE ROAD - NIGHT

The severed zombie hand scurries across the end of the driveway it landed by.
Suddenly a car tire drives across the frame, crushing the hand.

We pull back to see Rand's car start driving down the tree-lined driveway,
Rand driving, Justine, Jesse and Z in the back, Clare and Cort in the front.
Tommy, Linny and Szech walk along behind the car.

CUT TO:

INT. RAND'S CAR

As the car passes the house's mailbox, Cort spots the name on it.

				CORT
Looks like we might finally have
run across some good luck tonight.

				CLARE
			Why?

				CORT
I think this is Doc Trimmer's house.
My family's doctor, until he retired
			a few months ago.

				JUSTINE
			Thank God...

CUT TO:

EXT. THE HOUSE - NIGHT

Rand's car pulls up in front of the house and stops. It's a nice two story house,
with the garage attached to it and a brand new RV parked beside the garage.

CUT TO:

INT. THE HOUSE - SOON

The only light in the whole house comes from a lamp in the livingroom, and the
glow of the TV screen showing a rerun of THE MUNSTERS. Sitting in a recliner,
wearing a robe and nursing a bottle of Scotch, is DOC TRIMMER, 68.

From offscreen we hear the doorbell ring. Doc Trimmer doesn't react. A couple
seconds later, the doorbell rings again. Doc Trimmer still doesn't react. Then
comes the sound of nine people pounding on his front door, and Doc Trimmer hears
this. He quickly sits his recliner up and looks in the direction of the front door.

				DOC TRIMMER
			What the hell is that?

CUT TO:

EXT. THE HOUSE - NIGHT

The teens are gathered together at the front door when the door opens, revealing
Doc Trimmer standing in the house - bottle of Scotch in one hand, a pistol in the
other. Behind him there's a doorway to another room and stairs going up to the
second floor.

				DOC TRIMMER
			What's goin' on out here?

				SZECH
			Don't shoot!

				CORT
			Doc Trimmer, it's me, Cort.

				DOC TRIMMER
Cort Garris? What are you doing
beating on my door at this time of
			the night?

				CORT
			We're having some trouble.

				DOC TRIMMER
			What kind of trouble?

				TOMMY
Car trouble. And a couple of us...
				(motions to Z and Jesse)
...are really sick. They need a
doctor, and we need a phone.

Doc Trimmer looks Z and Jesse over.

				DOC TRIMMER
			Mm-hmm...

He lowers his gun and steps back out of the way.

				DOC TRIMMER
Well, you're at the right place for
both of those things. Come on in.

				JUSTINE
			Thank you.

The teens enter the house.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE WOODS - NIGHT

Jason watches from the trees lining Doc Trimmer's driveway as the teens
disappear into the house and the front door closes.

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - THE LIVINGROOM

Doc Trimmer walks in, followed by Cort helping Z walk into the room and Justine
helping Jesse walk.

				CORT
I hope we're not disturbing you.

				DOC TRIMMER
			No, I wasn't doing anything...

				CORT
			Where's Misses Trimmer?

				DOC TRIMMER
She... she died three weeks ago.

				CORT
			Oh, I'm sorry.

				DOC TRIMMER
			Yeah. So am I.

Cort leads Z to the recliner, Justine takes Jesse to the couch.

				CORT
So, uh... that's a real nice RV
			you got out there.

				DOC TRIMMER
Thanks. I just bought it last month.
Misses Trimmer and I... we were
planning on going on a road trip.

Z looks into Cort's face as Cort helps him sit down in the recliner.

				Z
Cort, you might want to shut up.

Doc Trimmer takes a swig of Scotch.

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - THE KITCHEN

The kitchen light is now on, and Tommy, Linny, Clare and Szech watch as Rand
goes to the wall-mounted phone. He stops beside it and looks back at the others.

				RAND
			So... does anyone remember what
			the number was?

				SZECH
I remember... that it started with
			1-800...

				RAND
			Thanks, Szech.

Clare looks at Linny, expecting her to remember the number.

				CLARE
			Linny? Put that photographic memory
to work. You remember it, right?

				LINNY
Yeah. It's an easy one, really...

				RAND
			You make the call then.

Rand steps back from the phone. Linny steps up to it, grabs the phone and
dials the number.

				LINNY
			1-800-454-8000.

Linny puts the phone to her ear, and everyone stares at her, waiting as the
line rings.

				SZECH
What do you think the Army will do?

Rand just waves for Szech to be quiet.

The phone line stops ringing as someone answers-

				MAN ON PHONE
			Hello?

				LINNY
			Hello... I'm calling the number
			stenciled on the... the barrel.

				MAN ON PHONE
			Your name please.

				LINNY
			Linny Wilson.

				MAN ON PHONE
Stay on the line, Miss Wilson, your
			call is being transferred.

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - THE LIVINGROOM

Justine is getting Jesse to lay down on the couch while Cort helps Z lay back
in the recliner. Doc Trimmer is standing back in the middle of the room, putting
a stethoscope around his neck.

				DOC TRIMMER
What are they on, and how much did
			they take?

				JUSTINE
They're not on anything. This isn't
			a drug overdose!

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - THE KITCHEN

Scene's the same, as Linny listens to dead air on the phone. Then, there's the
sound of someone picking up the line.

				GLOVER ON PHONE
Miss Wilson? This is Colonel Glover.
			Where are you calling from?

CUT TO:

INT. AN OFFICE - DUSK

Sitting at a desk, in an Army uniform, is COLONEL GLOVER, who we recognize from
the first RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD. As he gets the answer to his questions he
writes in a notepad.

				GLOVER
I see. And when did this take place?
				(beat)
And when was the tank first breached?

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - THE KITCHEN

Scene's the same, as Linny answers Glover's questions.

				LINNY
I don't know, maybe an hour ago? You
have to get help here quick. The
cemetery... this is going to sound
			crazy, but...

We pull back and see that we're actually looking into the kitchen through the
window over the sink. We pan over, and we're

EXT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - NIGHT

The phone line runs down the side of the house. An axe swings into frame,
chopping into the side of the house and cutting the phone line in half.

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - THE KITCHEN

Linny realizes something has gone wrong with the phone.

				LINNY
Hello? Hello, Colonel Glover, are you
			there?

Linny takes the phone away from her ear and looks at the other.

				LINNY
			The phone went dead.

				CLARE
			Oh, Jesus.

Linny hangs the phone up.

				TOMMY
Well, at least you got to them. They
know where we are... now we just have
			to hope they do something.

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - THE LIVINGROOM

Doc Trimmer holds a flashlight over Z's face as Justine and Cort stand
back and watch.

				DOC TRIMMER
			Mm-hmm. Say "ahh".

Z just opens his mouth, not saying "ahh". His throat is swollen, and we see
his tongue is also swollen and has a white coating.

				DOC TRIMMER
				(disgusted)
			Oh my God...

Doc Trimmer moves over to Jesse on the couch. Shines the flashlight in his eyes,
then-

				DOC TRIMMER
			Say "ahh".

Jesse opens his mouth and manages to croak out an "ahh".

				DOC TRIMMER
OK. Jesse, could you sit up for me?

Jesse tries to sit up, but doesn't get his back far up off the couch.

				DOC TRIMMER
			Here, let me help.

Doc Trimmer pulls Jesse into a sitting position, Jesse's body making sick
cracking and popping sounds. Jesse yells in pain.

				DOC TRIMMER
			It's alright, Jesse. It's alright.

Doc Trimmer pulls up the back of Jesse's shirt, and we see that his back is
basically one large bruise.

Doc Trimmer sighs, letting Jesse lay back down. He turns back to Justine and Cort.

				DOC TRIMMER
This is... very strange. They have
no pupilary response, I can't find
			any pulse...

Tommy, Linny, Clare, Rand and Szech walk into the room, listening to Doc Trimmer.

				DOC TRIMMER
Their temperatures seem to be about
			room temperature. And Jesse here
seems to have... uh, rigor mortis.

				CORT
			Is it serious?

				DOC TRIMMER
			Is dead serious?

Jesse screams in pain.

Z starts retching and quickly gets out of the recliner and hurries out of the
room, clamping a hand over his mouth.

				SZECH
			Where's he going?

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - THE KITCHEN

Z runs into the kitchen, goes to the sink and starts throwing up into it.

Tommy and Clare step into the doorway between the kitchen and the livingroom,
watching him.

Z finishes throwing up and wipes his mouth with the back of his hand. He looks
up through the window above the sink and -

Z'S P.O.V. - Through the window we see Jason's hockey masked face looking in
at us.

Z screams.

Jason's hands burst through the window, grabbing Z by the sides of the head and
pulling him forward, off his feet.

				Z
			Fuck!

Tommy and Clare can only watch in shock as Z's large body is quickly pulled
through the windowframe. Tommy snaps out of it first and runs forward to try to
help Z. He reaches for one of Z's feet, but it's pulled away from him as Z's
whole body is pulled out the window.

CUT TO:

EXT. DOC TRIMMER'S - NIGHT

Still holding Z by the sides of the head, Jason holds him up with his feet off
the ground. He slams Z's face forward - into the side of the house.

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - THE KITCHEN

Tommy is watching Jason through the window, when Z's head comes bursting through
the wall beside the sink.

Tommy turns to Clare.

				TOMMY
We gotta get out of here!

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - THE LIVINGROOM

Tommy and Clare run in from the kitchen, yelling about needing to go.

				DOC TRIMMER
			What's going on?

				TOMMY
			Jason's here!

Clare, Rand, Szech and Cort run for the front of the house while Doc Trimmer
looks around, confused. Justine tries to pull Jesse to his feet.

				JUSTINE
			We have to go, Jesse.

Jesse screams in pain.

				JUSTINE
			Help me!

Tommy and Linny start helping her.

				DOC TRIMMER
			Jason who?

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - FRONT ROOM

The teens run into the front room, Rand reaching the door first. He pulls the
door open, and starts to run out... But stops, grabbing the sides of the doorway
and looking out into the front yard.

RAND'S P.O.V. - The front yard is full of zombies.

One of the zombies is wearing a police uniform. He looks over at the house,
spotting the teens standing at the doorway. The zombie raises a hand and points
at them.

				COP ZOMBIE
			Brains!

The zombie starts running toward the house, other zombies looking, spotting the
teens, and starting to run as well.

The teens back away from the door and Rand slams it shut.

				CORT
			What do we do now?

Doc Trimmer walks in.

				DOC TRIMMER
What the hell is going on?

				TOMMY
			Upstairs!

Tommy starts up the stairs, helping Justine pull Jesse along. The others follow
them up as Doc Trimmer watches.

				DOC TRIMMER
			Hey! You can't...

				SZECH
				(interrupts)
You better follow us if you want to
			live, old dude!

Slamming sounds start coming from the front door, along with yells of "Brains!"
Doc Trimmer looks at his front door as the fists of zombies start busting through
the small windows that line the edges of the door.

				DOC TRIMMER
			Son of a...

A FEMALE ZOMBIE WITH WORMS WRITHING IN THE FLESH OF HER FACE looks in through one
of the busted windows, looking right at Doc Trimmer.

				WORM WOMAN
			Brains! I need... brains!

Doc Trimmer would yell at the woman for busting his window, but the worms in her
face are a sure sign something is wrong. He turns around to see Jason standing in
his livingroom, headed for him with axe in hand.

				DOC TRIMMER
			Get outta here!

Jason starts rushing toward him. Doc Trimmer starts up the stairs as fast as he
can go.

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - SECOND FLOOR - HALLWAY

Tommy, Justine, Jesse, Linny, Clare and Rand run down the hallway, going to a
door at the very end of the hall. Szech runs into the first door he comes to,
and Cort follows him in. The doors of the rooms slam shut.

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - FRONT ROOM

As Jason reaches the stairs, the front door is knocked to the floor and zombies
start flooding into the house. Jason cocks his head to the side as he watches the
army of rotting people rush into the house, completely ignoring him. The zombies
start rushing up the stairs.

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - SECOND FLOOR - HALLWAY

Doc Trimmer has reached the top of the stairs. He stops look back at the zombies
running toward him.

				DOC TRIMMER
			Oh, dear...

Doc Trimmer is grabbed from the side and pulled out of frame.

We cut to another angle in the hall to see that it's Tommy who is pulling Doc
Trimmer down the hall, toward the door at the end.

				TOMMY
			Come on!

Tommy and Doc Trimmer reach the door as zombies start surging into the hall.
The zombies spot them and run toward them. Tommy opens the door, shoves Doc
Trimmer into the room, then quickly follows him and slams the door shut just
as the first of the zombies reaches it.

Down the hall, a TEENAGE ZOMBIE is knocked down by the others, falling in front
of the door Cort and Szech went through. The zombie's nose is at the base of the
door, and he sticks his nose into the small space between the door and the floor.
He sniffs the air.

				TEENAGE ZOMBIE
			Brains...

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - BATHROOM

Szech and Cort stand in the bathroom, staring at the door, scared. Szech holds a
pair of scissors and Cort a bottle of hair spray. The bathroom seems to be a death
trap if the zombies bust in. There is a window at the back of the room, but it
doesn't look like a person could fit through it.

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - BEDROOM

The others are in a bedroom. There are two large windows in here, both looking
over the roof of the attached garage. Justine and Jesse are sitting on the bed,
everyone else stands around nervously as zombies start pounding on the door.

				TOMMY
The door's not gonna keep them out
forever. We've got to keep moving.

Tommy motions to the windows.

				RAND
So, what, we go out onto the garage
roof, break our legs jumping down and
get killed on the yard instead of in
			here?

				LINNY
			There's the RV...

Everyone looks at Doc Trimmer.

Doc Trimmer grabs a set of keys off a nearby dresser and holds them up for
everyone to see.

				CLARE
			What about Cort and Szech?

				RAND
I guess they have to fend for them-
selves. There's no way we can get
through all of those things to get
			to them...

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - STAIRWAY

Jason is making his way up the zombie-crowded stairs, slashing zombies
out of his way with his axe, knocking them to the side, shoving and tossing
them through and over the railing.

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - SECOND FLOOR - HALLWAY

Zombies are pounding on the doors of both rooms that have people inside. One
of the zombies pounding on Szech and Cort's door is Z, his face full of
splinters.

Jason reaches the top of the stairs behind Z and swings the axe, catching Z
in the side of the head. Z falls to the floor, his head split in half.

Jason turns and starts cutting his way down the hall.

Split-headed Z starts climbing to his feet.

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - BEDROOM

A window is open and Tommy is standing off to a side as the group starts to
climb out onto the garage roof one-by-one. Justine and Rand are already outside
and are helping a very weak Jesse climb through the windowframe.

The door shakes as the zombies pound on it.

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - SECOND FLOOR - HALLWAY

Jason is still cutting his way through zombies. He grabs one and tosses it upwards,
through the ceiling.

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - ATTIC

The zombie bursts through the floor and lands a few feet away from the hole.

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - BATHROOM

Szech and Cort are still staring at the door, backing further away from it. A
crack appears in the middle of the door as the zombies on the other side continue
to pound on it.

				CORT
			Here.

Cort hands Szech the hairspray and turns, running for the small window.

				SZECH
(out of it, staring at the door)
			Thanks...

The crack in the door grows.

Cort pushes the small window open and starts trying to climb through it. It's
tough, since the bottom of the window is at neck level and he's got nothing to
boost himself up with.

Zombie arms smash through the middle of the bathroom door.

				SZECH
			They're getting in!

The zombies start tearing a large hole in the middle of the door.

CUT TO:

EXT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - NIGHT

Cort's head, shoulders and upper arms come through the small window on the
second floor, in the back of the house. Cort looks down.

CORT'S P.O.V. - From this window it's a two story drop to a concrete patio.

				CORT
			Oh, Jesus...

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - BEDROOM

The door of the bedroom looks ready to bust off its hinges as the group
continues to climb through the window and out onto the garage roof. Everyone
but Tommy and Doc Trimmer are on the garage, and Tommy is in the middle of
climbing out. Doc Trimmer stands nearby, drinking his Scotch.

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - SECOND FLOOR - HALLWAY

Jason has almost reached the bedroom door.

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - BATHROOM

As Cort struggles to fit through the window, Szech pockets the scissors and
pulls out a lighter, running to the door as zombies continue ripping it open.

Szech lights the lighter and sprays the hairspray into the flame, torching
the zombie arms that are reaching through the hole in the door. The zombies
don't seem to be too bothered by their flesh being burned.

Split-headed, splinter-faced zombie Z sticks his face into the hole in the
door.

				Z
			Fucking brains!

Szech aims the flames into Z's face. The flesh of the right side of Z's face
gets fried off before another zombie knocks him aside.

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - SECOND FLOOR - HALLWAY

Jason steps up behind a zombie beating on the bedroom door and swings his
axe into the back of the zombie's head. The zombie's head slams forward into
the bedroom door, the axe ripping through it and chopping into the door.
The force of the hit causes the door to collapse.

Down the hall, zombie Z, his burnt face sizzling and smoking, takes a step
back away from the bathroom door, yells as loud as he can, raises his arms
and slams them into the door as hard as he can. The door splits in half.

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - BEDROOM

Jason steps into the bedroom as Doc Trimmer gets out onto the garage roof.

CUT TO:

EXT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - GARAGE ROOF - NIGHT

Now that everyone's out on the roof, they start making their way onto the
RV's roof. It's just a large step away from the edge of the garage.

At the sound of Jason entering his bedroom, Doc Trimmer stops and looks
back through the window. Tommy grabs his Scotch arm and tries to pull him
along.

				TOMMY
			Come on!

Doc Trimmer pulls his pistol out of a robe pocket and aims it at Jason.

				DOC TRIMMER
This is for messing up my house, you
			bastards!

Doc Trimmer opens fire on Jason and the zombies that start entering the
bedroom around him. The bullets rip through their rotten flesh, but don't
bother them at all.

Jason throws his axe side-arm.

AXE P.O.V. - We axe spin through the air, headed right toward Doc Trimmer's
head. Doc Trimmer's eyes widen in surprise. In the background, some members
of the group scream.

Tommy tries to pull Doc Trimmer out of the way, but it's too late. The axe
catches Doc Trimmer in the throat, decapitating him.

Blood sprays across Tommy's face.

Doc Trimmer's head falls to the garage roof, bouncing and rolling down off
the front edge.

Doc Trimmer's hands relax, dropping the pistol and bottle of Scotch. The
bottle shatters.

Tommy hangs onto Doc Trimmer's body as he reaches into a robe pocket and
pulls out the set of keys he got off the dresser. He then lays the body down
and hurries to join the others on the RV roof.

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - BATHROOM

Szech drops the hairspray and lighter as zombies start to pour through the
busted door. He pulls out the scissors.

				SZECH
Oh, shit, oh, shit, oh, shit...

Cort is still trying to climb out the window, he's now got up to his mid-
chest out the window.

Szech kicks the first zombie that reaches him in the face. The zombie's
rotten neck splits open and its head falls back, hanging down its back by
a small strip of flesh.

Szech punches the next, then swings the scissors into the side of another's
head, pinning its head to the wall.

Szech goes to punch another in its face, but the zombie opens its mouth
wide enough to split its rotten cheeks open and catches Szech's fist with
a bite.

Szech screams as the zombie chews into his hand.

Z zombie tackles Szech and the hand-chewer to the floor.

Cort, knowing zombies are in the bathroom, starts trying frantically to
get the rest of the way out the window, despite the drop.

Zombies start grabbing and ripping at Cort's legs, trying to pull him back
through the window. He's wedged in there pretty well, though.

Cort kicks back at the zombies.

				CORT
			Get off me!

A kick from Cort hits a zombie in the side of the head, causing its head
to twist around backwards. Another zombie gets a foot in the face, causing
half of its face to cave in.

One zombie pulling on Cort apparently gets tired of pulling and yells,
shoving his body upwards. Cort's back hits and shatters the window.

The zombies now have more room to move Cort around in the windowframe.

Cort is pulled back through the window a few inches. He grabs the frame and
pulls himself back out while twisting around onto his back. He catches a
couple zombies with kicks to their chins, then...

Loses his balance on the frame. Cort falls backwards out of the window and
drops, screaming, head-first to the patio below.

CUT TO:

INT. THE RV

The skylight in the middle of the RV falls to the floor, followed by Tommy.
The others start dropping into the RV after him. (This RV is exactly the
same as the one in JASON LIVES.)

CUT TO:

INT. DOC TRIMMER'S HOUSE - BEDROOM

Jason stands watching through the windows as zombies unsteadily start trying
to climb onto the garage roof. The first zombie out onto the roof slips and
falls, rolling off the edge.

Rand is the last person on the RV roof, currently helping ease Jesse down
through the skylight.

A zombie gets on the garage roof and runs at Rand as Jesse disappears from
view into the RV.

Rand turns to the zombie as it jumps onto the RV roof and lunges at him.
Rand grabs the zombie by the shirt and turns, tossing it off the roof.

Rand then looks down through the skylight, makes sure the area below him
is clear, then jumps down through it.

CUT TO:

INT. THE RV

Tommy walks toward the driver's seat, Linny and Rand close behind.

				RAND
Here, give me the keys. I'll drive.

				TOMMY
			I'll drive.

Tommy sits down in the driver's seat, sticks the key in the ignition and
starts the vehicle up. Linny sits in the seat beside him. Rand sits down on
the floor, facing the door. At the back of the RV, Clare helps Justine lay
Jesse down on the bed.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE RV - NIGHT

From a ground-level shot we watch the RV start driving away from Doc Trimmer's
house. A half dozen zombies watch it from the roof of the garage. Some zombies
start running out the front door of the house.

CUT TO:

EXT. WILSON'S HARDWARE - NIGHT

The lights are off and, as we know, the store is closed for the night.

CUT TO:

INT. WILSON'S HARDWARE

We go down an aisle, headed for the door to the back room. Light shines through
the spaces at the edges of the door.

CUT TO:

INT. WILSON'S HARDWARE - BACK ROOM

Carl sits at his desk, drinking a can of beer, eating a McDonald's meal and
laughing at a rerun of ALL IN THE FAMILY that's on a small TV.

The phone starts ringing and Carl turns the TV volume all the way down before
answering it.

				CARL
			Hello?

CUT TO:

INT. HOUSE - KITCHEN

Carl's wife/Clare's mother EVE, 48, is talking on a wall phone.

				EVE
Hey, hon. What are you up to?

CUT TO:

INT. WILSON'S HARDWARE - BACK ROOM

Carl keeps an eye on the TV as he talks to his wife.

				CARL
			Ah, paperwork. Doing some inventory.
I should be home in an hour or so.

CUT TO:

INT. HOUSE - KITCHEN

Through the doorway behind Eve we can see into a livingroom with windows
looking out to the front yard. Dark figures hurry past the windows. Eve
doesn't notice, she's got her back to the doorway.

				EVE
			Alright. I'll start supper then.

CUT TO:

INT. WILSON'S HARDWARE - BACK ROOM

Carl is shoving some fries in his mouth.

				CARL
(moving the fries into a cheek)
			Good, good.

CUT TO:

INT. HOUSE - KITCHEN

Scene's the same.

				EVE
How did Linny do on her first...

Eve is interrupted by the sound of the front door being knocked in.

				EVE
			What...?

Eve lowers the phone from her ear, turning around to look into the livingroom.

CUT TO:

INT. WILSON'S HARDWARE - BACK ROOM

We hear Eve start to scream through the phone. This really gets Carl's attention.

				CARL
			Eve? Eve, what's going on?

Eve's scream ends abruptly. We hear thumping sounds, the sounds of a bunch of
people moving around, then silence.

				CARL
			Eve?! Are you there?

Nothing but silence from the phone.

Then Carl hears the sound of several fists pounding on the front door and windows
of the store. He lays the phone down.

				CARL
			What the hell...

CUT TO:

INT. WILSON'S HARDWARE - STORE

Carl slowly walks down an aisle, toward the front of the store. He stops when
he gets a full view of the door and windows.

CARL'S P.O.V. - Over a dozen zombies are beating on the door and windows,
trying to get in.

				CARL
			We're closed!

CUT TO:

EXT. A COUNTRY ROAD - NIGHT

The RV speeds past us. As it goes by, we see Jason hanging on to the metal
ladder on the back of the vehicle.

CUT TO:

INT. RV

A curtain has been pulled shut in the "bedroom" doorway. We can hear Jesse
yelling in pain inside. Clare has sit down beside Rand, leaning on him. They
have their arms around eachother. Tommy is still driving, Linny in the passenger
seat.

				CLARE
			I'm sorry, Linny...

				LINNY
			Why are you sorry?

				CLARE
You wouldn't be going through this if
I hadn't pestered you into coming to
			Dugan's Point with me.

				LINNY
It's not like you could've predicted this.
				(beat)
It might sound crazy, but I'm kind of
glad... that, if you have to go through
this, I'd rather be here with you.

				CLARE
			Yeah...
				(beat)
			That does sound crazy.
				(beat)
I just hope my parents are alright.

CUT TO:

EXT. RV - NIGHT

Jason is climbing from the ladder up onto the roof.

The RV passes a sign that reads: ENTERING CRYSTAL LAKE CITY LIMITS

CUT TO:

INT. RV - BED AREA

Justine is sitting on the bed next to Jesse, who looks worse than ever.

				JESSE
			It hurts...

				JUSTINE
I know, baby. We'll be at the hospital
			soon. You'll be ok.

Jesse goes completely still, staring up at the ceiling. Not breathing.
Justine stares at him, waiting for him to breathe. He doesn't.

				JUSTINE
			Jesse?

He still doesn't move. Doesn't breathe. Keeps staring.

				JUSTINE
			Jesse...

Justine grabs his shoulder and shakes him lightly.

				JUSTINE
			Jesse, don't...

Jesse blinks.

				JESSE
			Justine...

				JUSTINE
			You scared me.

				JESSE
I know what to do now.

				JUSTINE
			What do you mean?

				JESSE
I think the doctor was right. I am
			dead.

				JUSTINE
			That's ridiculous.

				JESSE
And I know how to stop the pain.
There's something that can take it
			all away.

				JUSTINE
			What?

				JESSE
			You have to let me...

Jesse sits up quickly, grabbing Justine by the hair and pulling her head
toward his mouth.

				JESSE
			EAT YOUR BRAIN!

Justine screams.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE RV - NIGHT

Jason is walking along the top of the speeding vehicle, headed for the
skylight. The RV is now driving through a business part of town.

CUT TO:

INT. THE RV

Everyone looks back as they hear Justine scream at the back of the RV.
Rand and Clare stand up as the doorway curtain is ripped down. The curtain
was pulled down by Justine, who falls to the floor on top of the curtain,
bloody teeth prints on her left temple.

Jesse comes charging out of the bed area, running toward Rand and Linny.

				JUSTINE
			Jesse, stop it!

				RAND
			Jesse, what the hell...

Jesse passes under the skylight right before Jason comes dropping down
through it.

Jesse hears the loud THUD as Jason's boots hit the RV floor and stops
between Jason and the others. He slowly turns around look at Jason.

				JESSE
			These brains are mine, asshole.

Jason steps forward, grabbing Jesse and tossing him aside. "Aside"
happens to be right into the door, causing it to collapse -

CUT TO:

EXT. THE RV - NIGHT

The door and Jesse fall to the street as the RV speeds on.

CUT TO:

INT. THE RV

Jesse out of his way, Jason is now running toward Tommy, Linny, Rand and
Clare. Tommy is staring ahead, the others are watching Jason run toward
them and are starting to look nervous.

				LINNY
			Tommy...

When Jason is just a step away from reaching Rand and Clare, Tommy slams
on the brakes.

Rand and Clare are thrown back against Tommy and Linny's seats, Jason
is thrown forward between them... and head-first into the windshield.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE RV - NIGHT

Jason explodes through the RV windshield and is thrown through the air
in front of the vehicle as it skids to a stop. Jason's flight ends quickly
when he slams into a brightly lit sign in front of a business. The glass
of the sign shatters and the lightbulbs inside break.

Jason falls to the ground, his bottom half in a rain puddle at the base
of the sign, his top half leaning into the sign. Electricity courses
through his body.

CUT TO:

INT. THE RV

The group watches as Jason is electrocuted. Tommy smiles.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE RV - NIGHT

The electrocution of Jason continues. By the time the sign shorts out,
releasing Jason and dropping him to the ground in front of it, Jason's
rotten flesh is smoking and parts of his shirt are on fire.

CUT TO:

INT. THE RV

Everyone continues staring at Jason.

				LINNY
			Is he dead?

				TOMMY
			I doubt it.

				RAND
Then let's get out of here before
			he gets back up.

Tommy resumes driving, but starts going the speed limit now.

Clare walks back to Justine, who's still laying on the floor, and kneels
down beside her. Through the back window we can see Jesse running down
the street after them.

				CLARE
			Are you alright?

Justine raises her hand to the bite marks on her temple, stopping just
short of touching them.

				JUSTINE
			Yeah... I think so...
				(beat)
Jesse, he turned into one of those
things... What is going on, Clare?

Up front, Tommy, Linny and Rand look around at the passing buildings and
streets. There's no sign of life anywhere, the streets are completely
empty.

				TOMMY
			Anybody else noticing something strange?

				LINNY
			Like no people?

				TOMMY
			Yeah. Like that.

				RAND
Maybe those things have already swept
			through and eaten everybody.

Linny gives Rand a "shut up" look.

				RAND
What? It's not like I want that to be
			true. But it's a possibility.
				(beat)
I guess there's no reason to go to
			the hospital now.

				TOMMY
So we go to the police station.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CRYSTAL LAKE POLICE DEPARTMENT - NIGHT

The RV pulls up in front of the small P.D. and stops.

Tommy, Rand and Clare get out of the RV and walk toward the P.D.'s front
door. Linny stays in her seat. Justine stands in the RV doorway.

Rand reaches the P.D.'s door first and tries to pull it open. It doesn't
budge. He tries pushing. Doesn't budge.

				RAND
			It's locked...

Rand starts knocking on the door.

				RAND
			Hey! Anybody in there?

Tommy looks through a window.

TOMMY'S P.O.V. - There's no one in sight.

				TOMMY
			Don't see anybody.

				CLARE
They can't just leave a police station
			empty.

Justine is looking around at the empty town from the RV doorway. She looks
ahead of the RV and spots something in the RV's mirror.

JUSTINE'S P.O.V. - In the mirror we see a group of about a dozen people
crossing the street a block behind the RV, looking around.

				JUSTINE
			Oh, thank God.

Justine turns around and steps out of the RV. The people are in the middle
of the street.

				JUSTINE
			Hey! Over here!

The people stop and look over at Justine. By the way they move, Justine
realizes something's wrong. These are zombies.

				ZOMBIE
			Hey, fresh brains!

The group of zombies start running toward the RV.

				JUSTINE
			Oh, no...

Justine turns around to go back into the RV and bumps right into Jesse.
Jesse smiles at her. His fall to the street from the speeding vehicle as
scraped flesh off one side of his face and his arms, ripped up his clothes.

				JESSE
			Justine, please...

Justine screams as Jesse grabs her by the arms.

				JESSE
Let me be the one who eats you. I'm
the one who loves you. I...

Jesse is interrupted when Tommy grabs him from behind and pulls him away
from Justine. As Tommy's pulling him away, Rand steps up and punches Jesse
in the face, knocking him to the ground.

				RAND
			Leave her alone, dead kid!

Clare grabs Justine and pulls her into the RV. Tommy and Rand follow as
Jesse starts getting to his feet.

				JESSE
I thought we were friends, Rand!

The RV starts driving away as Jesse reaches for the doorway. The group of
zombies reaches the RV at that moment, knocking into Jesse and stopping
him from being able to grab on to the doorway as they start reaching for
it themselves.

CUT TO:

INT. THE RV

The RV was able to drive away so soon after the others got in because Linny
is now driving. Justine is in the passenger seat, Clare standing beside her.
Tommy and Rand are standing in front of the door, ready to fight off any
zombies that might be able to get in.

One zombie does manage to pull himself up into the doorway and Tommy and
Rand both kick him in the chest at the same time. The zombie falls back
out of the RV, against the others who are running alongside it, tripping
them up.

Clare sees something ahead of the RV and points it out to Linny -

				CLARE
My street! Turn down my street.

Linny turns the RV.

CUT TO:

EXT. CLARE'S HOUSE - NIGHT

The RV drives down a residential street and stops in front of Clare's house.
The front door of the house is open.

CUT TO:

INT. THE RV

Everyone's looking at Clare's house.

				RAND
			Doesn't look promising.

				CLARE
			I have to check...

Linny shuts the RV off.

CUT TO:

EXT. CLARE'S HOUSE - NIGHT

Clare, Linny, Tommy, Rand and Justine walk up to the house, watching out
for zombies. Clare reaches the open door and looks in.

				CLARE
			Mom? Dad?

Clare steps into the house.

CUT TO:

INT. CLARE'S HOUSE

The group enters the livingroom, looking around. The house is empty, but
nothing seems to be out of place. No sign of a struggle anywhere.

				CLARE
			Hello?

Silence.

				LINNY
			They're gone. With everybody else.

				JUSTINE
			But where is that?

				RAND
If we knew that, we'd be there, too.

Clare heads up the stairs to the second floor. Rand follows.

Tommy goes over to the fireplace and takes the poker from in front of it.

Linny and Justine walk into the kitchen, where they find the phone where
Eve left it, hanging against the wall. Linny grabs the phone and raises
it to her ear, listening. After a couple seconds -

				LINNY
			Hello?

CUT TO:

INT. WILSON'S HARDWARE - BACK ROOM

Carl's phone is still laying on the desk. Through it we hear -

				LINNY
			Hello?

Carl isn't in the room to hear it.

CUT TO:

INT. CLARE'S HOUSE

Justine, her back to a window, watches Linny as she talks into the phone.

				JUSTINE
			Is somebody on...

Justine is interrupted when a zombie steps up to the other side of the
window and smashes a fist through the glass, grabbing her by the hair.
Justine screams, grabbing the wall to stop herself from being pulled
outside.

				LINNY
			Justine!

Linny drops the phone and rushes to Justine's side, grabbing her and
trying to pull her away from the zombie.

The zombie pulls Justine's hair harder. She screams in pain.

Linny looks over and sees a full knife holder on the kitchen counter. She
reaches over and pulls the biggest knife out of it.

Tommy enters the kitchen and is about to start helping Justine when the
back door bursts open, revealing a bunch of zombies standing outside.
The first to enter is split-headed, splinter and burn-faced Z.

Linny starts cutting the zombie's fingers off, along with the piece of
Justine's hair that they're holding.

				LINNY
			I got it!

Tommy runs to the back door and swings the poker into the side of Z's
head. Z stumbles off to the side.

Tommy tries to slam the back door shut, but the next two zombies that
are entering stop it from shutting. Tommy throws himself against the door,
crushing one zombie between the door and the frame. All of the ribs on one
of the zombie's sides break.

Tommy pulls the door open a couple inches, letting the broken ribbed zombie
stumble back outside, then shuts the door again. With zombies out of the
way, the door is able to actually shut this time. Tommy locks it.

Z grabs Tommy in a headlock, bringing his open mouth toward the top of
Tommy's head.

With all of the window zombie's fingers cut off and wriggling around on
the floor and a chunk of Justine's hair cut off, Justine is now free.
Linny slams her knife into the middle of the zombie's forehead and it
stumbles back away from the window.

Z's teeth are about to sink into Tommy's skull when we hear a shotgun
fire twice. Z's body is blown in half at the waist, his legs falling to
the side as his top half keeps hanging on to Tommy.

Clare stands in the kitchen doorway, holding a double barrel shotgun.
Rand stands behind her, holding several more guns.

Tommy does a backward headbutt, slamming the back of his head into Z's
face and turning, throwing Z's top half onto the kitchen counter.

Z yells at Tommy. Tommy steps up to him and sticks the poker into his
chest, impaling him to the wall.

				Z
			You fucking bastards!

Tommy joins Linny, Justine, Clare and Rand in the kitchen doorway. Rand
is holding another shotgun, a rifle and two pistols.

				RAND
			Pick your weapon.

				CLARE
			Raided my dad's gun case.

Tommy takes the shotgun, Linny and Justine take the pistols, leaving Rand
with the rifle.

				JUSTINE
I've never fired a gun before...

				TOMMY
			Neither have I, actually.

				CLARE
Not much to it. Make sure the safety's
off, point, shoot. Beware the kick. Don't
			shoot yourself.

				RAND
			Or one of us.

We hear sitcom canned laughter.

				CLARE
			What was that?

More laughter, followed by -

				CARL'S VOICE
			Hello? Is anybody there?

				CLARE
			Daddy?

CUT TO:

INT. WILSON'S HARDWARE - BACK ROOM

Carl is sitting on his desk, TV up to full volume as he yells into the
phone -

				CARL
			Hello?

Carl has several tool belts with various kinds of tools in them strapped
around his body.

				CLARE
				(on phone)
			Daddy, are you alright?

				CARL
			Clare!

Carl turns the TV off.

CUT TO:

INT. CLARE'S HOUSE

Clare is on the phone, eyes brimming with tears.

				CARL
				(on phone)
I'm fine. At the moment. Are you ok?

				CLARE
Yeah... Where are you? Where's mom?

CUT TO:

INT. WILSON'S HARDWARE - BACK ROOM

Scene's the same.

				CARL
I don't know where your mother is. I'm
at the hardware store. I'm stuck in my
office right now. These lunatics broke
			through the windows. I don't know what's
going on with them. Drugs or something.
PCP. I heard screams and gunshots over
the phone. What is going on there?

CUT TO:

INT. CLARE'S HOUSE

Same.

				CLARE
Same thing. It's all over town. It's not
drugs... I can't explain it right now. I'm
gonna come over there and get you, alright?

CUT TO:

INT. WILSON'S HARDWARE - BACK ROOM

Carl looks toward the door to the store. We hear zombies beating on
the other side of the door. Then an axe blade breaks through the top
of the door.

				CARL
That might be a good idea.

CUT TO:

INT. CLARE'S HOUSE - SOON

The back door collapses and zombies flood into the kitchen as the teens
are running out the front door.

Z's top half is still on the kitchen counter and impaled to the wall,
struggling to pull itself off the poker.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE RV - NIGHT

The teens punch, shove and shoot their way through a small group of zombies
between the house and the RV.

CUT TO:

INT. THE RV

Tommy is the first to enter, to find a zombie standing in the middle of the
RV. Tommy raises his shotgun and fires. The kick of the gun causes him to
take a step backwards.

The zombie's head explodes, its twitching body falling to the floor.

Tommy goes to the driver's seat as the others enter the RV.

The zombie's headless body climbs to its feet.

				RAND
			Jesus...

The body stumbles toward Rand. He steps aside and shoves it out the door.

Zombies reach the doorway as the RV starts to drive away.

Linny and Justine try out their guns by firing into the zombies through
the doorway. Rand fires his rifle at one. The bullet hits the zombie in
the forehead and blows a large hole in the back of its head.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE STREET - NIGHT

We watch the RV drive away through the hole in the zombie's head.

CUT TO:

INT. WILSON'S HARDWARE - BACK ROOM

Carl watches as zombies reach through a small hole in the door at about
head level. Any hands or fingers that get through the hole, Carl chops
off with a hatchet.

CUT TO:

EXT. A TOWN STREET - NIGHT

An Army Jeep is parked on the side of the street. Four SOLDIERS and a SERGEANT
sit in the Jeep. The Sergeant is looking at a map.

				SOLDIER #1
I'm tellin' ya, Sarge, we cleared out
the town. We should be way over here...

Soldier #1 points out a location on the map.

				SOLDIER #1
We don't have the equipment to be
			out here.

Soldier #2 is looking off down the street.

				SOLDIER #2
			What's this?

The others look in the same direction.

SOLDIER #2'S P.O.V. - The RV is turning a corner and driving toward them.

The soldiers get their automatic rifles ready.

The RV drives up and stops nearby. Rand steps out, rifle in hand and ready.

				RAND
			Help us, please!

				SERGEANT
			Easy with that rifle, pal.

				RAND
			Right. Sorry.

Rand lowers his rifle as Clare steps out of the RV.

				CLARE
You've gotta help us. We need to go
get my father from the hardware store,
then we need to get out of here...

				SOLDIER #3
The town's been evacuated. We're not
supposed to take out anybody else.

				CLARE
			Why not?

				SERGEANT
			Plague.

				RAND
			Plague? We're not sick!

				CLARE
The dead people in the cemetery...
Well, they're not dead anymore. I
know that doesn't make any sense...

				SOLDIER #1
				(interrupts)
			Orders are...

Soldier #1 stops talking as Jason steps up to the side of the Jeep, on
the opposite side from the one the RV is on, grabs Soldier #4 from behind,
pulls a knife from a sheath on the soldier's belt and slams it into his
chest.

				SERGEANT
			Son of a bitch!

Jason pulls Soldier #4's rifle away as he falls to the street. Jason swings
the rifle like a bat and hits Soldier #3 in the head, caving his forehead in.
Blood runs down the soldier's face as he falls back, dead.

Sergeant and the remaining soldiers turn their rifles on Jason and open fire.
Jason stumbles backwards as dozens of bullets rip into him. The back of his
boots bump into the curb and he falls backwards onto the sidewalk.

The soldiers stop firing as Jason lays still.

Then Jason sits up.

				SOLDIER #1
Sarge... I think we should get out
			of here...

				SERGEANT
			Right.

Sergeant shifts the Jeep into gear.

Jason throws Soldier #4's knife and it flies right into Soldier #2's throat.
Soldier #1 catches the man as he falls backwards.

As Soldier #2's blood pumps all over Soldier #1's face, Sergeant hits the
gas and the Jeep speeds off down the road.

Rand and Clare have stepped back into the RV and fire their weapons at Jason
at the same time.

				CLARE
			Go, Tommy!

The rifle shot hits Jason in the chest and the shotgun blast hits him in the
stomach. Jason is thrown back against a light pole as the RV drives away.

CUT TO:

INT. THE RV

Tommy drives, Justine is sitting in the passenger seat, the others stand
around behind them. Rand leans back against the wall.

				RAND
We just can't catch a break tonight.

				JUSTINE
At least the Army's here, taking care
			of things.

				RAND
Yeah, but we apparently missed the
boat when it comes to getting helped
			out of here.

				JUSTINE
We'll get out... They'll let us out...

				LINNY
			Yeah... I hope so.

CUT TO:

INT. WILSON'S HARDWARE - BACK ROOM

The top half of the door to the store is pretty much broken away. Carl is
fighting the zombies back away from the door with various items from the
store. A blowtorch, a hammer, hatchet...

The zombie that axed the door earlier steps up to the door, swinging the
axe in at Carl.

Carl grabs the axe's handle and pulls it away from the zombie, at the same
time sticking a large screwdriver into its right eye.

CUT TO:

EXT. AN ALLEYWAY - NIGHT

The Army Jeep is parked at the back of the dead end alley. Sergeant and
Soldier #1 are staring toward the opening of the alley, where at least
three dozen zombies are coming toward them.

				SOLDIER #1
I joined the Army to see the world,
not this. We don't have the right
			equipment!

				SERGEANT
Get ahold of yourself, son, you're an
American soldier! Now, we've got a
firefight on our hands. Enemy's already
			dead... It's beautiful.

Sergeant and Soldier #1 get their rifles ready as the zombies approach.

				SOLDIER #1
			It's not gonna work.

Sergeant ignores him.

				SERGEANT
Alright, you dead sons 'a bitches. I'm
gonna blow your tired, ugly asses right
			back to Hell!

Sergeant and Soldier #1 open fire on the zombies.

CUT TO:

INT. THE RV

Everyone's in basically the same spot they were in when we left them.

TOMMY'S P.O.V. - We see Wilson's Hardware in the next block, zombies
milling around the front of the building.

				TOMMY
Clare, does your father have a car at
			the store?

				CLARE
			Yeah, out back...

				TOMMY
And he's in the back of the building,
			right?

				CLARE
He said he was trapped in the back room.
			Why?

Tommy drives the RV right toward the front of Wilson's Hardware.

CUT TO:

INT. WILSON'S HARDWARE

The RV hits the zombies outside, throwing some through the air, crushing
others under the front wheels. The RV then hits the front of the building
and plows through, destroying the front wall. It continues through the
store, hitting aisles, smashing the check out counter, crushing and hitting
several more zombies. One zombie is so rotten, he completely disintegrates
into a wave of flesh and formaldehyde when the RV hits him.

The RV stops five feet from the door to the back room, four zombies between
the front of the vehicle and the door.

Carl looks at the RV parked in his store, shocked.

				CARL
			Unbelievable...

Clare, Rand, Justine, Linny and Tommy get out of the RV.

Carl takes a step back and opens the back room door. Three of the zombies
rush toward him, the other has turned its attention to the RV group.

Carl swings a chain, which hits one zombie in the head and wraps around
its head. Carl pulls on the chain, pulling the zombie's head off. Another
zombie reaches him, ready to bite. Carl shoves the blowtorch into its
mouth. The last zombie gets the axe planted in its face.

The zombie that turned its attention on the RV group gets blown to pieces
by shotgun and rifle shots.

Part of one of the store's racks has jammed into the RV's gas tank. Gas
is leaking all over the floor.

Carl approaches his rescuers, motioning toward the RV.

				CARL
I can't believe you drove into my
			store!

				CLARE
I'd ask you if you're alright, but
if your biggest concern is the store,
			I guess you are.

				RAND
The RV's an improvment if you ask me.

CUT TO:

EXT. WILSON'S HARDWARE - NIGHT

The teens and Carl exit the store, checking to make sure it's safe. There
are a few zombies down the street, but no immediate danger. Carl has strapped
on more tool/weapons. They head around the corner and toward a parking lot
behind the building.

As the group turns the corner, the Army Jeep drives past the hardware store.
It's being driven by a zombie, with several zombie passengers. Covered in
blood and weaving all over the road.

Jason stands in front of the hardware store, watching the Jeep speed off
down the road. He then looks over into the store.

CUT TO:

INT. WILSON'S HARDWARE

Jason walks through the store, along the side of the RV. He sees something
he wants.

The zombie with the blowtorch in his mouth is stumbling around the store,
its whole head on fire.

Jason reaches what he wants - hanging on the wall is a machete. He pulls
the machete out of the plastic and its sheath and admires the blade. Then,
weapon in hand, Jason turns to exit the store.

On the other side of the RV, the blowtorch finally explodes, taking the
zombie's head with it. The zombie's burning body falls to the floor...
right into the large puddle of gas that has leaked from the RV.

CUT TO:

EXT. WILSON'S HARDWARE - NIGHT

The group is reaching Carl's car, an orange Camaro, at the same moment that
the hardware store explodes.

				CARL
			Holy shit! My store!

				CLARE
Just get in the car, dad.

Carl pulls his keys from a pocket, but as he does a zombie comes running
toward them, screaming for "brains!". Carl drops his keys, grab a rope
that's over his shoulder, and swings the rope at the zombie. On the end
of the rope is a saw blade, which hits the zombie right in the throat,
decapitating it.

Rand picks up the keys and unlocks the car's passengrt door. He opens the
door and gets into the car.

				RAND
			Get in!

Rand gets behind the wheel and puts the key in the ignition. He turns the
key, but the car doesn't start.

				CARL
Hey! Nobody drives this car but me.
			This baby's cherry.

				CLARE
Just get in the car, dad!

The group piles into the Camaro.

CUT TO:

INT. THE CAMARO

Everyone's in. Tommy pulls the passenger door shut.

Rand is still trying to get the car started.

				RAND
What the hell's up with this car?

				CARL
			You're gonna flood it!

Tommy looks through the windshield to see a large group of zombies rushing
across the parking lot, toward the Camaro.

				TOMMY
			Get it started, Rand...

				RAND
			If I could...

				CARL
			Let me try it.

				RAND
			Cherry, huh?

				CARL
			Well, it *was* cherry...

The others watch the zombies' approach. They're less than 10 feet away
from the Camaro now.

				TOMMY
			Rand...

The zombies reach the hood of the Camaro. Some of them punch and bang
their hands down on the hood, a couple of them scramble up the hood.

				CARL
My store's destroyed, don't let them
			hurt my car!

The zombies swarm around the Camaro, beating on the windows.

The car starts.

				RAND
			Thank you!

CUT TO:

EXT. THE STREET - NIGHT

The Camaro speeds out of the parking lot and turns onto the street, throwing
off some zombies that hung on to it. It drives off down the street, away from
the hardware store.

The streets in front of and beside the hardware store are covered with burning
rubble. Jason is laying among the rubble, machete still in hand. He starts
climbing to his feet.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CAMARO - NIGHT

The Camaro drives down a road that runs through the woods.

CUT TO:

INT. THE CAMARO

The group rides in silence. Tommy is staring out the passenger window.

TOMMY'S P.O.V. - The car drives past a dirt road that branches off into
the woods. Beside the dirt road's entrance is a wooden sign, barely visible
through the ivy that has grown up over it and long-uncut weeds. But we can
still see that the sign reads: CAMP CRYSTAL LAKE

Tommy looks forward.

				RAND
			Here we go.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CAMARO - NIGHT

The road the Camaro's on intersects with another. The Camaro turns onto the
other road. Not far in this direction is the bridge from the beginning.

CUT TO:

INT. THE CAMARO

The group is getting excited about the idea of being able to get out of
town.

				CLARE
			Alright! Goodbye, nightmare.

We look through the windshield as the Camaro drives onto the bridge. The
headlights soon reveal a row of barbed wire run across the middle of the
bridge.

				CARL
			What's this?

Blindingly bright lights come on on the other side of the wire, revealing
several Army Jeeps and a tank, along with several soldiers with their
rifles pointed at the Camaro.

				TOMMY
Maybe they'll let us by if we...

				MAN
				(O.S.)
			Commence firing!

The soldiers open fire on the Camaro. The group screams, yells and curses
as bullets fly around and into the Camaro.

				CARL
			My car!

Rand shifts into Reverse and drives backwards off the bridge, back onto
the road.

				JUSTINE
Why are they shooting at us?

				TOMMY
			They think we're those things.

				CLARE
Or that we've been infected by them.

Rand turns the Camaro back down the road they came from.

				RAND
This is bullshit, man. What are we
			supposed to do now?

				CARL
Maybe we should go to a bar and go
			out drunk.

				CLARE
Judging by your breath, you're half
			in the bag already.

				CARL
			I only had a case.

				CLARE
				(nods)
			"Only".

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CAMARO - NIGHT

The Camaro drives back past the Camp Crystal Lake entrance.

CUT TO:

INT. THE CAMARO

Same.

				CARL
			It's an interesting problem. Soldiers
			in front, zombies behind.

Rand hits the brakes.

				RAND
			Strike that. Reverse it.

RAND'S P.O.V. - A huge wave of zombies are running down the road toward the
Camaro.

				RAND
			Anyone feel like camping?

Rand backs the Camaro up and turns down the road to the camp.

				LINNY
I don't think this is a good idea.

CUT TO:

EXT. CAMP CRYSTAL LAKE - NIGHT

We look around at the cabins. They're not in the best shape, it's been 11
years since the events of the original FRIDAY THE 13TH, and nobody's taken
care of the camp since then.

The Camaro comes speeding down the dirt road into the campgrounds and stops
in front of the main cabin. The car is shut off and the group climbs out.

Tommy looks over at the lake. Where it all began for Jason.

				TOMMY
Trying to find safety at Camp Blood.

				RAND
			Yeah. Who'da thunk?

Most of the group walks toward the main cabin. Linny stays back by the
Camaro.

				LINNY
I still think this was a bad decision.
Stopping has never worked out. The only
way to stay safe is to keep driving.

We can hear the sounds of zombies yelling and moaning as they run down
the path to the camp. Rand is standing at the main cabin door when he
stops to look back at Linny.

				RAND
Well, what do you suggest we do now?

If Linny has a suggestion, Rand doesn't get to hear it. The main cabin's
door opens, revealing Jason standing inside, machete raised.

Justine sees Jason and screams. Rand turns around just in time to catch
the machete in his stomach. The tip comes out his back and Jason lifts
him up on the blade.

				CLARE
			Rand! No!

Jason pulls the machete out of Rand, dropping his body to the ground. As
the body hits the ground, we see that the Camaro keys are still in his hand.

Jason turns on the rest of the group and they start running away. Carl
does a Starsky & Hutch slide across his car's hood as he goes. Justine
grabs the driver's door handle and starts opening the door. Linny grabs
her and pulls her away from the car.

				LINNY
We can't, Rand had the keys!

As the group runs across the camp, a large group of zombies comes into
view on the dirt path, entering the grounds.

				TOMMY
			Shit!

Jason looks over at the zombies. When he looks back toward his intended
victims, they've disappeared among the cabins.

CUT TO:

INT. A CABIN

The cabin's a mess. Dusty, cobwebs and spiderwebs all over. The door bursts
open and Tommy, Clare, Carl, Justine and Linny enter. Tommy slams the door
shut behind them.

				LINNY
OK, we need to barricade the doors.

				JUSTINE
We're gonna die. This is it!

				LINNY
Don't talk like that, Justine. We're
gonna make it through this. We've made
			it this far.

Everyone starts dumping the matresses off the bunks and moving the bunks
in front of the front and back doors of the cabin.

				TOMMY
The real problem will be keeping
			Jason out.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CAMP - NIGHT

Zombies are all over the campgrounds now, as Jason walks among the cabins.

CUT TO:

INT. THE CABIN

Two bunks have been moved in front of both doors. The group stands in the
middle of the cabin, weapons ready. They've thrown sheets over the small
windows in the front and middle of the cabin. Justine is shaking, tears
running down her face.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CAMP - NIGHT

Jason is walking past a cabin when a creaking sound comes from inside. He
turns to the cabin, slamming a shoulder into the front door and knocking
it open.

This isn't the cabin his victims went into. The sound was made by the
back door being opened by a zombie that is now walking around inside the
cabin.

CUT TO:

INT. THE CABIN

Everyone reacts as a scraping and rattling sound comes from the back door.
Tommy takes a step toward the door, in case he has to fight to keep it
shut.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CABIN - NIGHT

A zombie who looks especially rotten and out of it is leaning against the
door as he tries to turn the knob with a hand that is missing several
fingers. As he continues to try to turn the knob, another finger snaps off.

Another zombie is walking along one side of the cabin, coming up to the
window on that side.

Not far away from this side of the cabin, Z is crawling along the ground,
the fireplace poker still stuck through him.

Jason is walking past him when Z looks up at him, recognizing him.

				Z
			Hey, you rat fuck!

Jason stops and looks down at Z. Z motions to his split-head.

				Z
Look what you did to my fucking head!

Jason does something more - with a swing of the machete, he decapitates Z.
Z's head rolls across the ground, stopping at the feet of the zombie who's
walking along the side of the cabin.

				Z
			Fucking asshole!

The walking zombie kicks Z's head along with its shuffling feet as it
reaches the cabin window. The zombie stops, looking into the window.

ZOMBIE'S P.O.V. - Through a small space between the wall and the sheet
hanging over the window, we can see Justine inside the cabin.

				ZOMBIE
			Hey!

				Z
				(O.S.)
			What is it?

The zombie looks down at Z's head. It bends down and picks the head up.

				Z
			Brains?

The zombie throws Z's head through the window.

CUT TO:

INT. THE CABIN

Z's head flies through the window, hitting the opposite wall and falling
to the ground. It ends up on it's top, propped up against the bottom of
the wall.

Clare turns to the broken window as the zombie reaches in, yelling. Clare
fires, the shotgun blast hitting the zombie in the chest and throwing it
back away from the cabin.

				TOMMY
			Here we go.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CAMP - NIGHT

The zombies start running toward the cabin the shot came from.

CUT TO:

INT. THE CABIN

Tommy and Linny cover the back door, Carl and Clare take the front, and
a jittery Justine backs up against the mid-cabin window that's not broken.

Linny looks over and sees this. She takes Justine by the arm and pulls
her away from the window.

				LINNY
			Stay away from the windows.

As soon as Linny's done saying that, a zombie's arms comes bursting
through the window. The zombie looks at the girls and yells -

				ZOMBIE
			Brai---

The zombie is interrupted when Linny fires her pistol into the zombie's
mouth. The zombie stumbles away from the cabin, gagging.

Z's head is still alive, upside down against the wall.

				Z
				(singing)
My brain is hanging upside down...

Tommy fires his shotgun into Z's face. The head explodes into several
small pieces. And that's all for Z.

Zombies start beating on the back door.

Carl and Clare look back to make sure things are alright back there,
and at that moment zombies hit the front door with such force that the
door opens a couple inches, knocking the bunk blocking it against Carl's
legs. Carl falls down over the bunk, accidentally pulling the sheet down
off one of the front windows as he falls.

				CLARE
			Are you alright?

				CARL
			Yeah.

Carl puts his hands on the door, trying to shove it back shut. The window
he pulled the sheet off of suddenly shatters as Jason reaches in through it.

				CLARE
			Daddy, watch out!

Jason grabs a couple of the tool belts Carl has strapped around him and
pulls him out through the windowframe.

				CLARE
			Daddy!

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CABIN - NIGHT

Jason turns, throwing Carl hard to the ground. Three zombies run toward Carl,
but Jason steps up over him and swings his machete. The three zombies are
cut in half at their chests.

The pieces fall down around Carl as he looks up at Jason. Jason turns his
machete so the tip is pointed straight down at Carl.

				CARL
			Hockey sucks.

Jason slams the machete down into Carl's chest.

				CLARE
				(O.S.)
			No! You bastard!

Clare is sticking her shotgun through the broken front window, but some
zombies have grabbed it, keeping her from being able to shoot Jason and
hopefully save her father. Clare fires the shotgun, but it doesn't hit
any of the zombies. They pull the gun away from her.

CUT TO:

INT. THE CABIN

Clare turns away from the window.

				CLARE
He killed my dad... He killed my dad...

Linny is looking back at her cousin as Tommy holds the bunk against the
back door, trying to keep it shut.

				LINNY
			I know. Clare, I'm sorry... But you've
got to keep it together right now.

The front door is still open a couple inches. As the zombies push against
it, it opens some more.

Linny turns to Tommy.

				LINNY
Justine and I can take this door. Help
			Clare with the front.

				TOMMY
			OK.

Tommy lets go of the bunk and rushes over to the front door. Justine and
Linny put their hands on the bunk and hold it against the back door.

Tommy leans against the front bunk, sliding it back against the door,
pushing as hard as he can. The door goes back an inch or so, but doesn't
shut.

				TOMMY
			I could use some help.

Clare is standing off to the side, dazed.

				CLARE
My dad... Rand... Where's my mom?

				TOMMY
			Please help me, Clare.

				CLARE
			It's over.

The wall behind Clare explodes as Jason bursts through it, grabbing her
from behind.

				TOMMY
			Clare!

Clare barely reacts as Jason wraps his arms around her, lifting her up
in a backwards bear hug.

Linny sees what's happening to her cousin and lets go of the back bunk,
turning her pistol on Jason. She fires a few shots into Jason's side,
but it doesn't bother him much.

Clare's ribs collapse and blood bursts from her mouth. Jason drops her
to the floor.

Jason turns on Tommy. Tommy lets go of the front bunk and points his
shotgun at Jason. The zombies slam into the front door, knocking the
bunk into the back of Tommy's legs. Tommy falls back onto the bunk, his
shotgun firing into the cabin's ceiling.

Zombie hands grab Tommy's upper half, pulling him closer to the opening
door.

Before Tommy can be pulled outside by the zombies, Jason grabs him, pulls
him to his feet, then tosses him backwards through the wall opposite the
one he came through.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CABIN - NIGHT

Tommy flies through the air, landing about 15 feet from the cabin. He
hits the ground, groaning.

A zombie runs at him and Tommy sits up, shooting it in the stomach.

CUT TO:

INT. THE CABIN

Jason is about to step out of the cabin to go after Tommy when Linny and
Justine open fire on him with their pistols. Jason turns toward them.

Before Jason can go toward them, the front door bursts open and zombies
flood into the cabin, between Jason and the girls.

Linny grabs the windowframe of the nearest mid-cabin window as the zombies
rush toward her, pulling herself up into the frame. She reaches back to pull
Justine along with her, but -

Justine just screams as the zombies swarm around her. Jesse makes his way
through the pack, smiling.

				JUSTINE
			Jesse?

				JESSE
I told you I should be the one.

Jesse grabs Justine, bringing his mouth toward her head.

				LINNY
			Jesse, stop!

Linny aims the gun to shoot Jesse in the head... The gun clicks, empty.

Jesse sinks his teeth into the top of Justine's head.

The zombies reach for Linny. She lets herself fall backwards out of the
window.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CAMP - NIGHT

Tommy is holding on to a tree as he climbs to his feet, Jason coming toward
him. Once he's standing, Tommy puts his back up against the tree, aims the
shotgun at Jason and fires.

The blast hits Jason in the chest, knocking him to the ground. He lays there
for a couple seconds, then sits up.

Tommy shoots him again, causing him to roll a couple yards before going still
again.

				LINNY
				(O.S.)
			Tommy!

Tommy looks over to see Linny running across the campgrounds near the lake,
pursued by a couple zombies. Linny trips, falling at the edge of the beach.
The zombies keep running toward her...

Tommy pushes off the tree, running toward the lake. As Tommy runs away,
Jason sits up again.

Linny crawls along the beach as the zombies come toward her. She finds a
boat oar laying the sand.

As the zombies reach Linny, she rolls over and hits one in the side of the
mouth with the oar, knocking its bottom jaw off.

The other is leaning down toward her when a shotgun blast hits it in the
side, throwing it away from her.

Tommy comes running up, grabbing Linny by an arm and helping her stand up.

				TOMMY
			Are you alright?

				LINNY
			Physically, yeah.

Tommy looks at the oar she's holding, then over at a canoe that's tied to a
post at the end of the beach. He then looks over to see Jason and several
zombies running toward them.

				TOMMY
I have an idea. Hopefully it won't
			get us killed.

				LINNY
			What is it?

Tommy points to the canoe.

CUT TO:

EXT. WILSON'S HARDWARE - NIGHT

A large Army truck drives past the burning rubble that remains of the store.
Army Jeeps drive in the opposite direction. Soldiers walk along the sidewalks,
carrying modified rifles.

Motionless zombie bodies lay all over the street and sidewalk.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CAMP - NIGHT

Tommy and Linny are pulling the canoe out into the water.

				TOMMY
I hope the dead can't swim.

				LINNY
			And if they can?

				TOMMY
You know as well as I do.

They climb into the canoe. Linny grabs the second oar from the floor of the
boat and they start rowing out on the lake.

Jason and the zombies are on the beach. Jason is running down into the
water. Some zombies follow him into the water, most of them stop at the
edge of it. A couple try to stop and fall in.

The water slows Jason down to a walk. More zombies stop when they're about
waist deep in the water. Jason keeps going.

Tommy watches Jason as he rows.

				TOMMY
			Jason's not stopping.

				LINNY
			Not surprising.

				TOMMY
Well, he drowned in this lake before.
			I hoped... Shit.

Jason goes from chest deep in the water to mouth deep. Only one zombie is
still going along with him at this point. After a couple steps, Jason and
the zombie both disappear under the water.

CUT TO:

IN THE WATER

The zombie steps off a ledge in the floor of the lake and it's a 15 foot
drop to the bottom. The zombie lands on the bottom, then looks around,
seeming kind of helpless now.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE LAKE - NIGHT

Tommy and Linny continue rowing, watching the water nervously.

				TOMMY
If Jason comes up... I'll handle him.

				LINNY
			What do you mean?

				TOMMY
I mean, you get out. Start swimming.
Get away, to the other side of the lake.

				LINNY
I'm not just gonna leave you... I
			don't need you sacrificing yourself
			for me.

				TOMMY
Jason and I have issues to work out.

Bubbles break on the surface of the lake on the left side of the canoe.
Tommy and Linny watch that spot. Tommy puts a hand on his shotgun beside
him.

Then Jason bursts up out of the water on the right side, lunging toward
Tommy.

				LINNY
			Tommy, look out!

Tommy's already aware of Jason and turning the shotgun on him at chest
level. Jason hits the shotgun barrel up as he reaches the side of the
canoe. Tommy fires.

The shotgun blast blows the hockey mask off Jason's face, taking quite a
bit of his rotten face with it. Jason falls back into the water.

Tommy pumps the empty shell out of the shotgun, then points the gun down
at the water. Linny resumes rowing.

The hockey mask floats on the surface of the lake, now in several pieces.

Bubbles burst up to the surface right beside Tommy, making him jump. He
turns the shotgun on that spot and pulls the trigger.

The shotgun clicks, empty.

				TOMMY
			Shit!

Tommy drops the shotgun to the bottom of the canoe, grabs the oars and
starts rowing again.

After a while, the canoe lurches to a sudden stop, like it's hit something.

				TOMMY
			What...

Tommy turns around and sees -

Jason in the water, his hands on the front of the canoe. He lunges up at
Tommy.

Tommy jumps back, swinging an oar as hard as he can into the side of Jason's
head. The oar snaps in half.

Jason slams into Tommy, knocking him back to the bottom of the canoe. Tommy
knocks into Linny on his way down, knocking her off the back of the canoe.

When Jason and Tommy hit the bottom of the canoe it causes it to crack a
bit. Water starts leaking into the canoe.

Jason and Tommy grapple on the bottom of the canoe. Jason grabs him by the
throat, strangling him, squeezing his throat as hard as he can. Tommy's
face is soon very red.

Tommy sticks the jagged, broken end of the oar into Jason's side. Jason
ignores it. Tommy pulls the oar out, then shoves it upwards - Into the
bottom of Jason's chin.

Jason pulls back, letting go of Tommy, opening his mouth slightly so we
can see the broken end of the oar sticking through the bottom and up into
the roof of his mouth.

Tommy pulls the oar out of Jason's chin, then stabs him in the chest with
it, putting all his weight onto the handle so that Jason falls back into
the front of the canoe. The front of the canoe tips into the water and it
begins to sink faster.

As the canoe sinks, Tommy stabs Jason in the chest with the oar handle
repeatedly. After a few stabs, we start seeing quick flashes - Every time
Tommy stabs Jason with the oar, we see one frame flashes of him at age 12
chopping Jason's body with the machete and him earlier in the night, stabbing
Jason's body with the crowbar.

				TOMMY
			You son of a bitch!

Linny is in the water a couple yards from the sinking canoe, watching.

				LINNY
			Tommy! Tommy, just leave him!

Jason swings a fist at the side of Tommy's head. Tommy manages to move his
arm around so that Jason's arm hits his, saving his head from the fist.

Tommy slams the oar into Jason's heart, and this time leaves it stuck in
him. He punches Jason in the face. He grabs the rope that the canoe was
tied up with and wraps it around Jason's neck.

Jason grabs Tommy by the sides of the head.

The canoe goes all the way under the water.

CUT TO:

IN THE WATER

We watch the canoe start sinking toward the bottom of the lake, the rope
trailing up toward the surface.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE LAKE - NIGHT

We hear cracking sounds as Jason continues squeezing Tommy's head. Tommy
is hitting Jason on the neck and shoulders, but he doesn't let go.

Linny starts swimming toward them.

CUT TO:

IN THE WATER

The canoe has sunk deep enough that the rope, still around Jason's neck,
pulls taut.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE LAKE - NIGHT

Jason is jerked down into the water by the rope, causing him to lose his
grip on Tommy. He disappears into the water.

Linny reaches Tommy's side.

				LINNY
			Are you alright?

Tommy rubs the sides of his head.

				TOMMY
			I think so...

A rumbling sound comes from the direction of the camp. Tommy and Linny look
back to see what it is.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE CAMP - NIGHT

Army trucks and Jeeps roll into the campgrounds. Soldiers with modified rifles
pour out of the backs of the trucks.

Zombies running toward the soldiers get metal spikes shot into their heads
from the rifles. Electricity courses through the spikes and the zombies' eyes
glaze over. They then fall to the ground, unconscious.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE LAKE - NIGHT

Tommy and Linny watch all this from the water.

				TOMMY
			You think if we...

Tommy is interrupted when he's suddenly pulled underwater.

CUT TO:

IN THE LAKE

Jason has managed to grab Tommy's foot as he sinks and is pulling him down
with him. Tommy kicks his legs, tries to get back to the surface, but
Jason holds on.

The canoe hits the bottom of the lake, the rope pulled tight around Jason's
neck. Jason struggles to hold on to Tommy while trying to pull the rope
from around his neck.

Tommy continues to try to get loose, running out of breath.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE LAKE - NIGHT

Linny is watching the bubbles rise to the surface.

				LINNY
			Tommy!

Linny goes underwater.

CUT TO:

IN THE LAKE

Tommy loses his struggle, forced to breathe water. He makes a couple more
frantic movements, then goes limp. Jason lets him go.

Linny is swimming down to Tommy when he starts to float back up toward
the surface. She grabs on to his arm, going to follow him back up -

When Jason grabs her other arm, pulling her down to his level. Linny lets
go of Tommy and he continues to rise.

Linny tries to swim up after him, but Jason pulls her back down. Linny
starts punching and kicking at Jason's head, but it's no use.

Linny spots the canoe oar sticking out of his chest. She grabs it with
her free arm and starts pulling it out. Jason grabs that arm, too.

Linny doesn't give up. She brings her legs around in front of her and
kicks Jason in the stomach as hard as she can. The oar pulls out of his
chest.

Jason lets go of Linny's arm and grabs at the oar. Misses.

Linny pulls the oar back away from Jason, then jams it toward his face
as hard as she can.

The oar sinks into Jason's left eye socket. Jason pulls back, reaching
for the oar with both hands.

Linny takes this chance to swim away from him.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE LAKE - NIGHT

Linny surfaces beside Tommy's floating body. She grabs him and starts
swimming toward the camp shore.

CUT TO:

INT. A CABIN - NIGHT

It's the cabin the group was barricaded in earlier. Jesse is kneeling
beside Justine's body, still devouring her brains.

A soldier steps up into the cabin's front doorway.

Jesse looks up at the soldier and gets a spike shot into his forehead.

CUT TO:

EXT. THE LAKE - NIGHT

Linny pulls Tommy's body onto the shore.

Soldiers see them come out of the water and start walking toward them.
Linny sees them approaching.

				LINNY
			Don't shoot! We're not infected!

Linny then turns her back on the soldiers, performing CPR on Tommy. Pushing
on his chest, giving him mouth-to-mouth... Tommy doesn't respond.

				LINNY
			Come on, Tommy...

A group of soldiers gather around, watching.

				SOLDIER
So if he comes back, will he be one
			of them then?

				ANOTHER SOLDIER
			I guess we'll find out.

Linny continues the CPR.

				LINNY
I can't be the only one...

Still no response from Tommy. Tears run down Linny's face.

				LINNY
I can't be the only one!

She hits Tommy hard on the chest.

Tommy rolls onto his side, coughing up water.

Linny smiles, relieved and kind of surprised.

				LINNY
			Tommy...

The zombie-concerned soldiers around them get their modified rifles ready.

Finished coughing, Tommy looks up at Linny.

				TOMMY
				(hoarse)
			Jason... Where is he?

				LINNY
			Where he belongs.

Linny motions toward the lake.

Tommy sits up, sighing. He and Linny embrace. He's obviously not a zombie.
The soldiers lower their rifles.

				TOMMY
			It's finally over.

We pull back from Tommy and Linny, rising into an aerial shot. Past the
soldiers watching them. We end up looking over the campgrounds, soldiers
milling around, Army trucks driving out, unconscious zombies laying all
over the place.

CUT TO:

IN THE WATER

Jason floats in the dark water. Having removed the broken oar from his eye
socket, he's now trying to get the rope off his neck. As he's doing this,
a light shines down on him from above. Jason looks up to see what it is.

JASON'S P.O.V. - A spotlight shines down on us from the surface.

The spotlight becomes the sun as we -

DISSOLVE TO:

EXT. A MILITARY BASE - DAY

CUT TO:

INT. THE MILITARY BASE - HALLWAY

Two men in suits, SMITH and BURLESON, are walking down the hallway.

				SMITH
So why do they eat brains?

				BURLESON
			That's still under investigation.
We managed to interrogate one of
them, he said it stopped the pain.

				SMITH
			What pain?

				BURLESON
Apparently it hurts to be dead.

				SMITH
			Well, that's nice to know.

				BURLESON
But there's one of them that seems
to have no interest in eating brains.
He doesn't mind the pain, I guess. We
can't say for sure, because he doesn't
talk. He's a very interesting specimen,
though. Apparently he was a serial killer
before being re-animated. He's been much
more violent and aggressive than the
			others. He's killed... well, maimed...
several of the others, in fact. The
only one of them that has any interest
in harming others of his kind. We had to
give him his own cell... Here it is.

Smith and Burleson reach a large window with thick, shatterproof glass.
They stop and look in.

We look through the glass and see Jason chained up in a small cell. He
