The Summer of Jim has Begun!

*Updated June 7*

*Because of bandwith restrictions, the movies are not available at this time. They will be back online shortly.

The video from the second poker event is now available. As always, Tony did an amazing job editing the video and the commentary is as entertaining as expected. I must warn you, the video is much longer than the first one so give yourself some time if you wish to download it. See it now on the poker page. Congratulations to Cardealer22, King Rube, and Panchita for placing in the money.

I need to take a moment and recognize myself as the champion of the foosball event this weekend as predicted. Though the tournament bracket was somewhat of a mess, April and I came out as the best players of the night. I am fairly good at life. Dave and Amanda finished in second. All pictures from the weekend are online and can be found on the pictures page. If anyone has any pictures to add please get them to me when you get the chance.

Two new events have been planned for the summer. We will be celebrating Vegas' birthday with a party at our house on Friday, June 23rd. Given Vegas' surprising ability to promote, I am excited too see the turnout. We are currently planning on having three kegs for the festivities. The other planned event is a weekend in Las Vegas over 4th of July weekend. This will allow us to watch Pony participate in a World Series of Poker $2k event. We will be leaving on Friday, June 30th and will return on Tuesday, July 4th. We will be staying at the Rio, where the poker event is to take place. Anyone interested in coming on the trip should get a hold of us as soon as possible. Pony is paying for the hotel, and we will probably have enough room for a couple more people if anyone would like to join us. I forsee a weekend filled with drinking, laying by the pool, gambling, and at least one strip club visit. There is also a 30% chance a hooker will be involved at one time or another. I will post more information on the events page when I feel like it.

I would like to congratulate Pony for his online poker and encourage everyone to do the same (or kill him so I can have his prize). He won a trip to Las Vegas and a free entry into a $2000 World Series of poker event. Not too shabby. Though I still think he is a bum.

I regret to announce that the Zak vs. Krista event has fallen through. However, as a replacement, we will be having a coed doubles foosball event on Saturday, June 3rd. Find your teams now as it is guaranteed to be competitive. (My team will certainly win). All teams are required to have at least one female, with exceptions given to teams I know are bad. There will also be at least one keg present, but feel free to bring other alcohol if you wish. Please let me know if you plan on attending the event, as it will help me know how many kegs to have.

The video from the first poker event of the season is now available. Tony and Zak commentated the event and Pony edited the video. Very nice work by all of them, it is very entertaining. See the video now on the poker page.

Pictures from the second week of the summer are now available. Take a look at some of House's pictures from the first event as well as pictures from the Twins game. All photos can be seen on the pictures page.

The first Summer of Jim poker league game has passed. Congratulations to Mikey for winning the event. Cowboy and Vlad also finished in the money. For more on the tournament, as well as results and standings look at the poker page. Video of the final table will be available soon.

Congratulations to Ryan Krumrie and Bob Richter for winning the first beer pong tournament. I am not really sure how it happened considering how bad Bob is. Ryan must have really carried the team. The biggest surprise of the tournament was certainly that House and Bret made it to the finals, though it was only their second time playing. However, I was disappointed that House passed out before they could play the finals. I guess that will happen when you have 15 teams and the championship doesn't start until 3:30am. Lisa and I played in their place, but considering how inebriated I was at that point, I am amazed I made a single cup. It was nice that Lisa could at least hit the table because I wasn't close. Congratulations again Bob and Ryan, you outlasted a truely diverse field to take home the championship.

The End.
