Traditions

Final Fantasy has many traditions that are kept going in every game.

Cid

In pretty much every final fantasy game there's been a cid

Final Fantasy I: NOT HERE?! x.x *dies*
Final Fantasy II: Gets kidnapped
Final Fantasy III: Found in Kasus and is stranded by the curse of Jhin
Final Fantasy IV: Cid of Baron, and engineer extraordinare. a friend of Cecil and is...u'll never guess...a pilot of the games airship!
Final Fantasy V: Builds Butz an airship
Final Fantasy VI: head enginneer at a Lab and is Celes' grandfather.
Final Fantasy VII: One of our favorite Cids, Cid Highwind. He's a pilot and enginer and owns the Tiny Bronco and the Highwind
Final Fantasy VIII: Cid Kramer is the headmaster of Balamb Garden and is married to Edea
Final Fantasy IX: Cid Fabool IX is Garnet's uncle
Final Fantasy X: Rikku's father and drives the airship

Chocobo

Chocobo's are the most well known creature in Final Fantasy. Now that Final Fantasy X has finally come out, we know they are pronounced Choo-co-boo's, rather then whatever else we thought. Chocobo's even have their own games now x.x (Chocobo Racer)

Gil

Not much to say about this. Gil has always been used as a form of money in Final Fantasy Games
