I was employed with J. Ray McDermott, and was working in Baku, capital city of Republic of Azerbaijan from Dec. '96 to Mar. '98.

It was the second country I visited, apart  India, and the country of my first overseas job. I came to know that there was a country called Azerbaijan and it's capital was Baku only in the time of my appointment and was wondering how the place would be.

But in my fifteen month stay there in Baku I found it to be a wonderful place and the people there very friendly and they liked Indians so much. Baku was called as the "Paradise in Earth" by all the expats who worked there.
