"God can make history and historians can change it".

Over time, governments and states make their own version of history, which is oftentimes distorted and biased in their favor. Versions given through press, state TV, text books, school curriculum can create dogmas and misconceptions in the minds of the people. Example of such propaganda can be found all over the world. This project aims at countering the propaganda through study of history. Students will select a topic of discussion, and will study the various schools of thoughts and consider all the sides of the picture. We hope to reach a consensus on the reality of events studied. Some of the proposed topics of discussion are Afghan Problem, Kashmir, Middle East, etc.

Media and propaganda machines around the world have distorted history. They use it to spread hatred, violence and to justify their aims. This project aims challenging and countering the propaganda machines and studying the various versions of history in order to develop tolerance and understanding. Only the truth can lead us all to a peaceful life.

We post discussion topics and reference materials. The students are advised to read and to do their own research. Discussion on the topics follows after which a conclusion is reached.

The first topic under discussion is the Afghanistan problem. Links to various articles have been given on this website. The students are advised to read them and use the civics forum to discuss them.

We wish all the participants a very a thoughtful and productive learning experience.
