Moshers
Moshers, you've no doubt seen them in the shopping centres, up the high street and hanging around in large groups in strange places.  For some reason ive now decided to try and define mosherdom and all the different subgenres in the way I view them, so i could be wrong but its all good fun  :)
Grungers:

originally a distinct group of people characterised by their scruffy dressing and their teen angst style metal music (characterised by bands such as Alice in Chains and Nirvana). I think Nirvana was probably the most significant, as they were very popular and so integrated this style into mainstream culture, remmember the early 90s (ripped jeans etc). Anyway this group are probably one of the founding groups of mosherdom  (note the wallet chains used by nivana are very common amongst moshers).

A common Grunge look is ripped blue jeans, a wallet chain a torn jumper, and generally scruffy looking.
Nu-Metalers:

The scourge of the music world, this is todays new pop music, like punk was in the 70s New wave in the 80s and like grunge was in the 90s. Nu-Metalers are probably about 50% of the mosher population and listen to a bizarre fusion of rap and metal (limp bizkit, kid rock,Deftones, slipknot etc). Nu metal is the sealing factor that brought mosherdom into pop culture and united all other factions under the one title.

A common Nu-metaler look is Baggy Blue jeans, a wallet chain, a band top and often a baseball cap.
Pop Punks:

Similar to Grungers but a bit more poppy,  this type of music was very popular in the late 90s with bands like the Offspring and Blink 182.
Pop Punk has a generally more light hearted feel to it than traditional Punk, and is generally shunned by Traditional Punks, this is another founding member of mosherdom

A common Pop Punk look is baggy jeans or combat trousers, some may have a wallet chain and a band top, coloured hair is often quite common. and brightly coloured clothes is also more common here.
Spookies:

Originally termed as "Spooky Kids" to describe the followers of Marilyn Manson who immitated his style  and tried to pass themselves off as goths. Recently the term was shortened to Spookies and is now used to describe people  who dress similar to goths (but a tad more excessive, especially with make up) and who listen to agressive dark metal such as Marilyn Manson, Cradle of Filth, Amen, Type O Negative and Disturbed. These are the people that the media often call Goths. Despite not really being Moshers they will often hang around with moshers and be in mosher social groups.Spookies often employ shock tactics in order to show their rebellion, and have a sense of theatricality and cheesyness about the way they act (everyone hates me/ im so fucked up/ im gonna kill myself etc)

A common Spookie look is white face black lipstick/ eyeliner/nail varnish/hair, leather trench coat. guys may wear black jeans sometimes with a wallet chain and band t-shirts or a black shirt. Girls often wear fishnets and pvc skirts . band tops are also common as are contact lenses. and anything else thats anti christian/society.
Mansonites:

A term used to describe people who listen mainly to Marilyn manson, and who generally idolise him, They dress more like moshers and so are not really spookies as they dont wear make up in the same way and may only wear black nail varnish. A kind of sub division of Death Moshers

A common Mansonite look may be a marilyn manson hoodie, with baggie blue jeans and a wallet chain.

Death Mosher:

A term that is used to describe people who listen to darker mosher music such as Manson etc but dont idolise individual bands.

A common look for death moshers is black/orange/red tops, sometimes band tops, black combat trousers or jeans, long coats  some may wear black nail varnish
