Bands, a Foolish Sheperd?

There are plenty of reasons that God tells Bands to take up the instruments of a foolish sheperd. I probably will not go into them all, but I will try to hit as many highlights as possible.

ZECHARIAH Chap.# 11 Verses # 14 & 15
14
Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.
15
And the Lord said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish sheperd.

Just as the New Testament gives all of the details of the breaking of Beauty, you can find the details of the breaking of the staff named Bands. It is located in the, "Thanksgiving Hymns," recorded in the Dead Sea Scrolls. I'm sure that you can find scholars who would disagree with that. But, I believe that I can make a good case to back that up. For now though, I want to discuss other things.

God deliberately sets out to break Bands. To break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel. Judah represents obedience to God. They had the Temple at Jerusalem and Christ is of the tribe of Judah. Israel in the Old Testament kept falling back into idolatry and after the fall to Babylon, they inter - married with the heathen population. Most notably were the Samaritans. People have tried for centuries to piggy back there Pagan Beliefs onto anything that is ordained by God. People think that God cannot justly judge if half of His people serve Him and the other half does not. The breaking of Bands breaks this agreement. In the prophets, God tells Israel that I will break your agreement with Hell.

Why a Foolish Sheperd?

JUDGES Chap. # 6 Verse # 21

Then the angel of the Lord put forth the end of his staff that was in his hand, and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes; and there rose up fire out of the rock, and consumed the flesh and the unleavened cakes. Then the angel of the Lord departed out of his sight.

JUDGES Chap. # 13 Verses # 18 & 19
18
And the angel of the Lord said unto him, Why askest thou after my name, seeing it is secret?
19
So Manoah took a kid with a meat offering, and offered it upon a rock unto the Lord: and the angel did wonderously; and Manoah and his wife looked on.

That describes Bands with his staff. So what makes him foolish?

MICAH Chap. # 5 Verses # 12 & 13
12
And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers:
13
Thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thine hands.

Bands is foolish because he believes that he can break the worst kinds of witchcraft with that staff. You can hate marriage and be the best servant that the Mother Earth Goddess ever had. But if God tells you to marry someone to give him a child and an heir, He will not take no for an answer. Bands is foolish enough to touch you with that staff because he doesn't know any goddesses. Family Magic doesn't mean a thing to him. Of course if you push it that far, and Bands touches you with the staff, you will be permanently separated from your bastard child. Not to mention your three paramours. And the family and friends that indoctrinated you will be separated from you. And all the pills in the world would not prevent you giving your husband his child. All of this is quite contrary to the secular teaching you get in high school. He is a Foolish Sheperd indeed. Most of the time, God would not have to do this to give a man a family. But, it is a tool to use when witchcraft is the motivation to punish one of his chosen servants.

ISAIAH Chap. # 57 Verses # 3 - 5

3
But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the whore.
4
Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, and draw out the tongue? are ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehod,
5
Enflaming yourselves with idols under every green tree, slaying the children in the valleys under the clifts of the rocks?

I'll continue later with more of why Bands is considered foolish in my next post.
