| Yusuke Urameshi: Your all around junior high punk, or is he? Yusuke Urameshi as been to the spirit world and back, he’s fought demons and recovered magical artifacts. What is he exactly? He’s a Spirit Detective as dubbed by Koenma, Prince of the Spirit Realm. Assisted by Botan other wise known as the Grim Reaper, Yusuke and his fellow fighters fight the evils that plague mankind. |
| Kazuma Kuwabara: Known to most as Kuwabara this redhead teenager, follows his own code of honor and is Yusuke’s only rival. Kuwabara is determined to someday beat the crap out of Yusuke, but so far all he’s managed to do is get the crap kicked out of him. Kuwa’s greatest weakness is his kitten, who’s name escapes me at the moment. Personally one of my fave episodes is the one where Kuwabara proposes marriage to Botan, I think it’s hilarious because he unknowingly asked the Grim Reaper to marry him. |
| Hiei: Not much can be said about Hiei. We no that he’s a fire demon and had a third eye transplanted into his body to increase his abilities and power. Very little is known of his past, and he likes to keep the fact that he has a sister a secret. Personally I enjoy watching Hiei and Kuwa bicker, it’s almost as fun as watching Yusuke and Kuwa fight. ^^ |
| Kurama: When I remember his human name I’ll let you know. Kurama is Youko, a fox spirit. His past is shadowed and he considers his human mother inferior to him, even though he still loves her deeply. This is proven when he makes a wish on the forlorn hope mirror to save his mother’s life at the cost of his own. But thanks to Yusuke’s intervention the mirror granted Kurama’s wish, without taking life. As far as fighting goes, Kurama is an expert, willing to sacrifice if need be. Of course the fact that he was once a master thief is nothing to sneeze at. Even Hiei has said that Kurama is more cut throat than he is. |
| Koenma: Being Prince of the spirit world isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Yeah sure, he’s got power, influence, and eternal youth. But he’s got a major responsibility and a dad who enforces major punishment if he messes up. Considering how bit Koenma’s dad is, I think 100 spankings is a bit harsh. Koenma is the one who dubbed Yusuke a Spirit Detective, although at times he regrets his decision, mainly when Yusuke is being annoying and constantly calling him a toddler. |
| Botan: It’s hard to believe that this youthful beauty is the Grim Reaper. That’s the last thing I’d call her. She’s bubbly, energetic and very enthusiastic about her job. Not only does she escort spirits to the spirit world, but she is Yusuke’s assistant and from time to time she gives him little gadgets to help him in his work. |
