Winter 2002-2003 in Sunny Southern New Mexico
Hi,

I have a small self storage facility in Truth or Consequences, New Mexcio.  T or C is a wonderful retirement community of about 6000 people, located in south central New Mexico.  There are many activities for seniors--meal sites with both breakfast and lunch, square dancing, dominoes, games, line dancing, 5 dances a week, bingo, tennis, golf, pinnocle, bridge, arts and crafts clubs, 2 VFW lodges, Moose, Elks and Eagles lodges, hot spring bath houses, and of course we are within 5 miles of Elephant Butte Lake, the largest lake in New Mexico--for those who like to fish and water ski.  The winters are mild and it is a great place to live and make friends.  Lots of folks from Minnesota and Canada winter here.

The work is very simple, mostly just be here and keep the property maintained, meet and greet people, handle problems when they arise (lockouts etc), pick up the mail and log the receipts and take them to the bank--and lastly, keep me posted and informed via the internet.  I would guess there is maybe 30 hours a month of actual work.  It would not require that you be here all of the time and you would certainly have the freedom to partipate in the various activities in and around T or C.  There are only 54 units involved and about 1/2 of them are on annual leases, so there is very little to be done.

There is a picture of the storage units and my mobile home.  There is a full service 50amp RV space behind the mobile home with wonderful views.  I am offering free parking, electric and propane, phone and internet access.  If you think this might be of interest to you, please feel free to contact me at

I would really like someone for Jan-March of 2003, but if you think you would  like to come earlier and stay later, or even all year, that option is open.   Of course you know we have the "Kodak International Balloon Fiesta" in Albuquerque in early October which is 150 miles away, so if you wanted to come for that and just stay I am sure it would be a treat for you.  If you have not visited the "Land of Enchantment" you really should, as there is much to see and do here.  This is a wonderful opportunity for either a couple or a single, male or female.

Since the facility is so small, I really can not offer a salary, but what I can offer is an opportunity to enjoy a winter in a nice environment, without added expenses.  If you have a small income or social security, this would be perfect for you.
