A fashion designer in Los Angeles, Cathya Savage fell in love with the southwest on her first trip to the area in 1994. In 1996, Cathya moved to the beautiful red rock country of Moab, Utah and began selling her new clothing line "Desert Savage" at art shows throughout the southwest. One month after show began her new journey she met soulmate, jewelry artist James Haas, at an art show. In 1998 Cathya and Jim opened a gift shop in Moab. During this time Cathya was able to experiment with a wide range of arts, including painting, silk painting and gourd art. Indulging her love of textile, Cathya was drawn more and more into silk painting. Missing the excitement of art shows and travelling, Cathya and Jim closed their store and have returned to the art show circuit.
Thank you for your interest in our art. We only sell at shows, since due to the one-of-a-kind nature of our work, it is time and cost prohibitive to try and sell via inernet, phone or catalog. Please check back - we will do our best to keep the site up to date - or email us to be put on our email list. Once a month we send emails about our upcoming shows. Thanks!!!!!!!!!! Jim & Cathya |
