In GT, we come across a new set of Dragonballs. These are known as the Black Star Dragonballs, and are the focus of the first saga; the Baby Saga.

Name of Dragon : Shenlon (he's red in colour)
How to Wake the Dragon : "I summon you, mighty Shenron!" (or similar line).
Wishes : 1
Size : Can fit in the palm of your hand.
How they were created : Before Kami(-sama) was seperated, he created the Black Star Dragonballs. He kept them hidden away in his palace for a long while, but Pilaf eventually found them.
Properties/Limitations :
- Only one wish to be granted.
- After the wish is made, the balls spread out over the entire Universe. NOTE that they do NOT turn to stone for a year, like the Earth/Namek Dragonballs.
- If the BS Dragonballs are not regathered within a year, the planet where the last wish was made on will be destroyed.
- Their power is far greater than any other set of Dragonballs, as they were created when Kami(-sama) was one being; and hence was more powerful.

Why were the Black Star Dragon Balls destroyed? And how?!

The Earth was actually destroyed by the Black Star Dragonballs, as Baby Vegeta made a wish with them on Earth. The Z warriors are unable to regather the balls in the remaining time, and so they move all the people on planet Earth to Baby's Tsuful planet. Piccolo ,however, decides that in order for the BS Dragonballs to no longer be a risk to anyone, he dies in the destruction of the Earth; hence ending his life, and the BS Dragonballs for good.
