Psalm 102

Bless the Lord, O my soul,

blessed are You, O Lord!

Bless the Lord, O my soul,

and all that is within me, bless His Holy Name.

Bless the Lord, O my soul,

and forget not all His benefits,

Who forgives all your iniquity,

Who heals all your diseases,

Who redeems your life from the Pit,

Who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,

Who satisfies you with good as long as you live,

so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

The Lord works vindication and justice

for all who are oppressed.

He made known His ways to Moses,

His acts to the people of Israel.

The Lord is merciful and gracious,

slow in anger and abounding in steadfast love.

He will not always chide,

nor will He keep His anger forever.

He does not deal with us according to our sins,

nor requite us according to our iniquities.

For as the heavens are high above the earth,

so great is His steadfast love toward those who fear Him;

As far as the east is from the west,

so far He removes our transgressions from us.

As a father pities his children,

so the Lord pities those who fear Him.

For He knows our frame;

He remembers that we are dust.

As for man, His days are like grass;

He flourishes like a flower of the field;

For the wind passes over it, and it is gone,

and its place knows it no more.

But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon those who fear Him,

And His Righteousness  to children's children,

To those who keep His Covenant, and remember to adhere to His Commandments.

The Lord has established His Throne in the heavens,

and His Kingdom rules over all.

Bless the Lord, O you His angels, you mighty ones who do His word, hearkening to the voice of His word.

Bless the Lord, all His hosts,

His ministers who do His Will.

Bless the Lord all His works,

in all places of His Dominion.

Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages.  Amen.

Bless the Lord, O my soul,

and all that is within me, bless His Holy Name.  Blessed are You, O Lord.

Psalm 145

Praise the Lord, O my soul!

I will praise the Lord as long as I live;

I will sing praises to my God

while I have being.

Put not your trust in princes, nor in a sons of man,

in whom there is no help.

When his breath departs, he returns to his earth,

on that very day his plans perish.

Blessed is the one whose help is the God of Jacob,

whose hope is in the Lord His God:

Who made heaven and earth,

the sea, and all that is in them;

Who keeps truth forever;

Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry.

The Lord sets the prisoner free;

The Lord opens the eyes of the blind.

The Lord lifts us those who are bowed down;

The Lord loves the righteous.

The Lord watches over the sojourners.

He upholds the orphan and the fatherless.

But the way of the wicked He brings to ruin.

The Lord will reign forever, Your God, O Zion, for all generations.

Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages.  Amen.

Only‑Begotten Son and Word of God, though immortal, for our salvation You deigned to be incarnate of the Holy Birthgiver-of-God and Ever‑Virgin Mary, without change becoming human, and were crucified, Christ our God, trampling death by death; being One of the Holy Trinity, glorified with the Father and the Holy Spirit:  Save us.

                                THE THIRD ANTIPHON

In Your Kingdom remember us, O Lord, when You come in Your Kingdom.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.

Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for your reward is great in heaven...

God my Savior, remember me when You come into Your Kingdom and save me because You love humanity.

Lord, remember us when You come into Your Kingdom . . .

O Christ, You accepted Peter's repentant tears, so also accept my repentance, and forgive my sins.

Master, remember us when You come into Your Kingdom . . .

Forerunner and Baptizer of the Lord:  You preached repentance, so I beg that you also enable me to repent with all my heart.

Holy One, remember us when You come into Your Kingdom . . .

O Saints, having overcome the storms of the passions, you rescue those caught in the storms of pain, and for this we bless you.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit . . .

My Savior, exalted by the prophets in the Trinity with simple and unrestrained prophecy, save me by the prayers of the Forerunner.

Now and ever, and to the ages of ages.  Amen . . .

O Lady, Mighty Protection for the Downtrodden, protect me from additional suffering inflicted by human hands, and save me.

The choirs of heaven chant to You and say: Holy, holy, holy are You, Lord God of Sabaoth, heaven and earth are filled with Your Glory!

Approach, be enlightened and you will not be made to blush . . .

The choirs of holy archangels and angels with all the bodiless Powers of heaven chant to You saying:  Holy, holy, holy are You, Lord God of Sabaoth, heaven and earth are filled with Your Glory!

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages.  Amen . . .

                               The Symbol of Faith

I believe in One God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.  And in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only‑Begotten, begotten of the Father before all ages, Light of Light, True God of True God, begotten, not made, of one essence with the Father, by Whom all things were made; Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became Man; And He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried; And on the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven and sits at the Right Hand of the Father; and He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead; Whose Kingdom shall have no end.  And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of Life, Who proceeds from the Father, Who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, Who spoke by the prophets.  In One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church,  I acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.  I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the age to come. Amen.

Prayer of Repentance

     O God, absolve, remit, and pardon our voluntary and involuntary sins, in word and deed, known and unknown, by day and by night, in mind and thought; forgive us all, in Your Goodness and Love for Humanity.

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.  Thy Kingdom come; Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the Evil One.

Presider:  For Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory, of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages.

People:  Amen.

Now the prescribed Kontakion is chanted

(Tone 8)  Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit . . .

With Your saints, O Christ, give rest to the souls of Your departed servants, where there is neither pain,  sorrow, nor sighing, but life everlasting.

(Tone 6)  Now and ever, and to the ages of ages.  Amen . . .

Protection of Christians who is not put to shame, Unchanging Mediation before the Creator, despise not the voice of sinners' prayers, but because you are good, quickly come to help us who call on you in faith.  Speedily intercede and hastily supplicate, Birthgiver-of-God, who always protects those who honor you!

Lord, have mercy (12 times).

All-Holy Trinity, Co-Essential Might, Kingdom Undivided, Source of All Good:  Be gracious to me, a sinner.  Establish and give understanding to my heart.  Remove every defilement from me.  Enlighten my mind, that I may continually glorify, chant hymns and worship You saying:  One is Holy; One is Lord, Jesus Christ, to the Glory of God the Father.  Amen.

Blessed is the Name of the Lord, now and to the ages [Three times].

Psalm 33

I will bless the Lord at all times;

His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

Let my soul glory in the Lord,

the lowly will hear me and be glad.

Glorify the Lord with me,

And let us exalt His Name together.

I sought the Lord and He answered me,

and delivered me from all my fears.

Look to Him that you may be radiant with joy,

and your faces may not blush with shame.

When the afflicted man called out, the Lord heard him,

And from all his distress He saved him.

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him,

and redeems them.

Taste and see how good the Lord is,

Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him.

Fear the Lord, you His saints,

for nothing is lacking to those who fear Him.

The great grow poor and hungry,

But those who seek the Lord lack for no good thing.

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

now and ever, and to the ages of ages.  Amen.

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia,

Glory to You, O Lord.   [Thrice]

It is truly proper to  bless you, Birthgiver-of-God, Ever- Blessed, and Most-Pure, and the Mother of our God.  More honorable than the Cherubim, and more glorious beyond compare than the Seraphim:  Without defilement you gave birth to God the Word.  True Birthgiver-of-God, we magnify.

If no other service will immediately follow, the Priest pronounces the Dismissal, otherwise, the Reader proceeds directly into the Ninth Hour:
