The St. Laurence/Queen of Peace High School Band Program forms a vital and important part of the total high school life. This group represents a large, colorful, visible, and highly disciplined segment of the school groups.

School life, and many of the programs and traditions of the school, would seem dull without the presence of the high school band. Their appearance at sporting events, concerts, parades, competitions, as well as community and civic events , adds a great deal of color and life to the St. Laurence/ Queen of Peace Community.

The main emphasis of the Band Program is on musicianship and pride of accomplishment, followed closely by citizenship, tradition, morale, spirit and loyalty. It is the pride of a job well done and the accomplishments achieved that make the sacrifice worthwhile. It is possible, by setting your schedule in a reasonable manner, to have a highly successful band career and still maintain a high scholastic standing. The success of the organization will lead to the sucess of the individual and vice versa.

CONCLUSION
It is the belief of the music staff at St. Laurence/Queen of Peace High School that the students will be a success with his or her life in the future if the methods of success are taught now. We are all aware that succeeding at something is far better than just participating. Many people have commented upon the excellence of the St. Laurence/Queen of Peace Band. They wonder what method is used to attain such excellence. The truth is that we are fortunate to have the majority of our members give of themselves and cooperate. Irresponsible persons do not last long due to the fact that they quit or are dismissed.
