St. John the Evangelist School

Saint John the Evangelist School, founded in 1913, is dedicated to serving the spiritual and academic needs of children from the inner city as well as nearby suburban communities. The dedicated faculty encourages students to live in the present but prepare them to become productive and responsible adult members of society. Students are taught the communication and computer literacy skills necessary to access and use information for new and diverse careers of the future.

Our school, with a rich tradition of excellence, integrates Christian values into all subjects. Learning materials are appropriate to each child’s readiness and maturity level. Parents and adult volunteers, actively involved in the daily life of the school, support the teachers in providing many and varied learning experiences.

Within the context of our spiritual community students learn the ethical use of media and technology, their role in caring for and protecting the environment, and the contribution their unique gifts can make to enrich the lives of others. The administration and faculty of Saint John School believe that maintaining the traditions and practices of our Catholic Faith is very important in preparing students for the 21st Century.
