St. Joseph Peninsula is 2,516 acres of park surrounded by Saint Joseph's Bay to the east and the Gulf of Mexico on the west.  Its 9 miles of white sand beaches, striking dune formations and a heavily forested interior makes the park a favorite visiting location for migratory birds, monarch butterflies, and tourist.

RESOURCE-BASED

RECREATION

If you're just driving by or making a full day of it, St. Joseph has much to offer.  Covered picnic shelters with grills, swimming and fishing in St. Joseph's Bay or Gulf of Mexico,

shelling, bird watching and hiking are just a few of the activities one can enjoy for the day.

For those who want a little more of the park experience, the park offers

camping with water and electrical hook-ups (dump station available),  primitive camping in our wilderness area (hike in what you need and take it with you as you leave), a youth camp for groups, and rustic vacation cabins (for those less adventurous and don't want to "rough it").

PRESERVING, INTERPRETING, AND RESTORING RESOURCES

The staff of St. Joseph's Peninsula are continuously striving to preserve and restore the park to its pre-European appearance.  The removal of exotic plants and animals, ecological burning, and planting of native Florida vegetation are high priorities in meeting this goal.

Camping, cabins, hiking,

swimming and

fishing are available year round at the nations 2nd most beautiful beach.

(Voted best beach in the continental United State for the last

four years.
