Bound by their love of loud guitars and the eternal quest for The Big Song, stingrayfirecracker formed in 1999 and were eventually unearthed by Robin Proper-Sheppard (The God Machine/The Flower Shop Recordings) in January, 2002 while rehearsing in "East" Camden's notoriously damp Playground Studios. Yes, among the petty thieves, lowlifes and not-so-occasional yuppies of London's North West East End, Robin found this gleaming diamond in the rough.

Having just returned from touring the USA, where Chicago-based independent label Veronica Records had released a compilation of early demo's and other assorted recordings, the band were eager to get things started this side of the Atlantic and the chance meeting with (and enthusiastic response from) Robin couldn't have come at a better time. With Robin on board as producer, 2 months of pre-production and a further month of recording ensued with the completed album
"Good Morning Beautiful" bearing the first fruits of their labour.

Based around the classic song writing of Nick Bergin and the concrete foundation of Alex Shaw and Paul Warren,
stingrayfirecracker combine the English romanticism and atmospherics of My Bloody Valentine and Doves with the hard edge of American bands like The Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters and Metallica.
