We, the church of Christ, want to extend to you and your family a standing
invitation to be a part of our Bible classes and worship periods. The church of our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ is non-denominational and our only rule of faith and practice is the Bible. We do not give heed to "confessions of faith", "disciplines", manuals", or "man made creeds" as they are imperfect creations of uninspired men that are subject to change. In the church of Christ, our only creed (what we believe) is the Word of Christ (Matthew 16:18), for which He gave His precious blood (Acts 20:28) and of which headship is not given to any man, but only to Jesus Christ (Eph. 1:22-23; Col. 1:18).
As the church which is of Christ, we are dedicated to a life of studying the Word of God (2 Tim. 2:15), teaching others the Word of God (Matt. 28:19-21; MK. 16:15-16), growing in the knowledge of God (2 Pet. 3:18); and living a life according to the doctrine of Christ (2 John 9-11). At the Stewart Ave. Church of Christ, we believe and teach that the Bible is the inerrant, verbally inspired Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17) which will be the standard of judgment in the Last Day (John 12:48).
As the church (the "called out) of Christ, we do not hold to the concept that the primary work of the church is to entertain or be solely focused upon social gatherings. The works of the church are simple, Evangelize to the lost, Edify one another and render Benevolence to the deserving needy.
If you are looking for a congregation where Christ's Gospel is proclaimed in love, where men and women are truly concerned about you and your family, and where men and women strive to please God by worshipping Him in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:24), then come visit soon!
WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU VISIT THE CHURCH OF CHRIST
1. A worship period patterned after the New Testament church. The worship of God is
to be simple (minus pomp, fanfare, and pageantry) and as He desires. The worship of God consists of five simple acts: The Proclaiming of the Word of God, Prayer, Congregational Vocal Singing, the Lord's Supper and the Offering.
2. A pulpit that exalts the Gospel of Christ boldly which is solely centered on the Bible.
3. A structured Bible curriculum staffed by Bible teachers who are both dedicated to
living and teaching the Christian life.
4. A congregation that is committed to the New Testament as our only guide for
authority, for worship, for organization, and for the mission of the church.
5. Men and woman who desire to be called Christians only, realizing the importance of
belonging to the church with a scriptural name "churches of Christ" (Romans 16:16).
6. Bible classes for all ages.
