Skills Update - 6 Hours

This course is for workplace First Aiders to update and practice their skills during the period of their qualification.  It allows the First Aider to maintain confidence in their skills and ability in the event of accident or illness.  It is recommended presently, that the First Aider attend at least one update course during the period of their First Aid at Work Certificate. This course does not requalify the First Aider; they will need to attend the two-day Requalification First Aid at Work course. Certificates are valid for 1 year or until requalification, whichever is the sooner.

The course includes the following: Tailoring the course to meet the needs of the delegates, through initial discussion during induction Developing the delegates confidence by conducting simulated casualty scenarios Updating skills and taking account of any changes in First Aid protocols Delegates may also ask to cover any specific conditions or injuries they think may be relevant to their environment

Assessment of the course is on a continuous basis, throughout the day, by the Trainer.
