Requalification First Aid at Work - 2 Days

This course is for workplace First Aiders to update their skills and requalify for the First Aid at Work Certificate. Delegates may still undertake the two day course up to 28 days after expiry of their existing certificate, otherwise they must attend the 4-day course. HSE approved certificates will be issued to delegates who successfully complete the course. Certificates are valid for three years. The course will aim to update the skills and knowledge of the First Aider; covering as many of those subjects included in the 4 day course, yet still allowing time for practice sessions.

The course includes the following: Tailoring the course to meet the needs of the delegates, through initial discussion during induction Revisting the requirements of the workplace Developing the delegates confidence by conducting simulated casualty scenarios Updating skills and taking account of any changes in First Aid protocols Delegates may also ask to cover any specific conditions or injuries they think may be relevant to their environment

Assessment of the course is through a written assessment (multi-chioce questions) and a practical assessment of skills, which covers dealing with an unconscious casualty, an injured casualty and resuscitation.
