Principles of Manual Handling - 4 Hours
Since 1992, (as amended in 2002), the Manual Handling Operations Regulations mean that employers have a responsibility to remove or reduce the risks arising from manual handling tasks.

Around 36% of the reported injuries at work leading to absences of over 3 days are due to load handling accidents.  An estimated 12.3* million working days are lost each year through work-related musculoskeletal disorders.

This course will enable your staff to assess risks and adopt safer working practices in line with the requirements of the Regulations. 

Certificates are vaild for three years.
The course covers the following subjects:

The Law and Manual Handling; roles and responsibilites.

How the Back Works; structure and function, causes of back pain and other handling related injuries.

Reducing the Risk of Injury; risk assessing the task, load and environment.

Safer Lifting Techniques.

Assessment of the course is on a continuous basis, by the Trainer.
