A page dedicated to my two favorite nightmare movies, DREAM WARRIORS & THE DREAM MASTER
A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 3: DREAM WARRIORS

SO WHAT'S IT ABOUT?

The last of the Elm Street children are now locked away in Springwood's looney bin. Nancy Thompson returns, but this time as a doctor and hooked on Hypnocil. One of the Elm Street kids is Kristen Parker, she has the power to bring people into her dreams. Nancy takes full advantage of this and Kristen brings in the other Elm Street kids into her dream. This way they can battle the bastard son of 100 maniacs, Freddy, together, as the DREAM WARRIORS.

THE PRO'S...

- Great character development. I really cared for these kids. Each was unique and likable.

- Well written.

- Great replay value. I can watch it over and over without getting bored.

- Great sets. This movie started the "DREAM LAND" which gets taken farther in each movie that followed. It also started the "Freddy needs souls" subplot.

THE CON'S...

- Heather Langenkamp. She couldn't act in part one and she really can't act here.

- The "Freddy Skeleton" so fake! Totally ruined the ending.

- The music was really bad. The whole "flute" thing was unwanted.

- Freddy gets funny. This is the movie that started Freddy's downfall into Def Comedy Jam.

OVER ALL...

Over all "DREAM WARRIORS" is my favorite of the series. It's scary, well acted and just enjoyable. I give it a 10/10.
A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 4: THE DREAM MASTER

SO WHAT'S IT ABOUT?

After being resurrected ala flaming dog piss, Burnt faced Freddy Krueger comes back for Elm Streets Last brats (Kristen, Joey & Kincaid). After they're out of the way, Krueger sets his eyes on young Alice Johnson and her friends. He uses her to get to new kids and obtain their souls. After every death Alice seems to "inharit" their powers. She then  becomes a "DREAM MASTER" and kicks the the not-so-living shit out of Krueger avec stunt woman.

THE PRO'S...
- "The Dream Master" has the best soundtrack in the series. It features such great catchy songs like "Fatal Charm" by BILLY IDOL, "Anything, Anything" by DRAMARAMA, "I Want Your Hands On Me" by SINEAD O'CONNER, and "Nightmare" by TUESDAY KNIGHT (Who also stars in this movie as Kristen Parker)

- "The Dream Master" poster. My favorite of the series.

- Great shots. The junk yard zoom out, the clawed locker, the follow shot of Kristen in her room.

THE CON'S...
- Replacing Patricia Arquette with Tuesday Knight (Who looks more like WINNIE from "The Wonder Years" on crack then Patricia Arquette). Bad choice. If they *had* to replace Miss Arquette, at least find a better actress.

- The movie was too glam. Sure it looked great, but it didn't have the "dark atmosphere" the earlier entries possessed.

- Freddy was too comical. It wasn't funny and it wasn't scary.

- The acting was pretty bad. Tuesday Knight ruined it for me.

OVER ALL...

Over all, "THE DREAM MASTER" has grown on me a lot since I first saw it. I remember hating it but now I really like it and give it an 8/10.
