Ongoing Projects
Jigiya - I am an advisor to Self Advocacy of New York State (SANYS) regarding their ongoing relationship with Jigiya, a group of Malians with disabilities.
On Sept 7, 2007 Jigiya and SANYS sang and danced for each other across the Atlantic Ocean.
Click here to see pictures AND a webcast recording of the event. This was an extraordinary event.
First Commercial Solar Oven in Mali - I am coordinating funding with Rotary International to deliver the first commercial scale solar oven in Mali. It will be used by a women's cooperative to provide employment and reduce deforestation.
Kibera - I am working with a small businessman in Kibera, Africa's largest slum, to market his jewelry made from animal bones in the USA. Click here to see the jewelry and learn more about the project.
Project Management - As a professional project manager (PM) I interviewed several directors of leading development organizations in Mali  like CARE and Save the Children. Based on insights gained, I presented at the Project Management Institute's Global Congress in Malta. Click here to see the presentation. I continue to work with the "African Center for Excellence in Project Management" (ACEPM). I am also a member of PMI's International Development Special Interest Group, and a member of the Nigerian Chapter of PMI.
AfricanSky - I serve as an advisor to the non-governmental organization (NGO) African Sky. It was started by a former Peace Corps Volunteer from Mali, and continues to support projects in Mali. http://www.africansky.org/
Sister Clowns - I coordinate a sister club cultural exchange between the Electric City Clown Alley (ECCA) in Albany/Schenectady NY and Malian clowns. ECCA sends clown supplies to their Malian colleagues. The Malian club is very happy, and they look forward to a long friendship.
