A Profile of Steve Alston of SE London

My  name's Steve and I live in South East London; far (but not too far) from  the madding crowd. I am from Liverpool by background if not birth (was actually  born in Northamptonshire) but have now been in London for Oh! 20 yrs or more.  Yes I am no spring chicken. I share my house with 5 other guys and frequent  visitors, many from South or South East Asia as that's where my  professional work lies.

I  work for an international aid agency and have focused on various countries over  the years. My current work is centered on on Sri Lanka and all types of 'civil  society' programmes there. I am just back from a visiting refugee camps in  Jaffna, the war torn region of northern  Sri Lanka.

The Norwegian side of my family, a while back, has left a  'tall' gene and I am 6'3" but still get into 33" waist jeans and hover around  12 stone.

I am an easy going guy, though I say it myself. I'm not paid  heaps so live simply and am quite happy that way. I splurge out on restaurants  now and again and drift into bars when the 'scent' takes me there but I seem to  spend a lot of time being a home guy, cooking, gardening and entertaining. Umm! but now  I'm thinking of a good movie. Any ideas? SOme of the pics in my photo pages will give you an idea of 'where I come from'.
