MOVIES
once again we come to one of Errols movies that is widely known. The scene I like best is when Alan Hale and Errol are being attacked by mossies and Hale says I'd rather the spaniards Every time I see that scene I laugh. Well here's some pics

Virgina city to me is a take off of  Dodge City and they failed miserably. Humphery Bogart looks rediculous in his part and Miriam Hopkins is so stiff . She was notorious for chucking tantrumes and the like. Max Steiners musical score is great though.
Virginia City  40'
The Sea Hawk 40'
Ok the film is not true to fact but if you want a good western to watch get this one .
Santa Fe Trail 40'
This is a comedy. I really like this movie not like the movie critics of the day. I love the banter between Errol and his wife and mother in law. I also feel Allen Jenkins is a great as Errol's side kick. This is Errols 2nd teaming with Brenda  Marshall. It is good to see Errol in a comedy
Footsteps in the Dark 41'
While watching Divebomber my husband said to me I really like this film I wonder how true to life it is .We were both drawn in as the men volunteered for tests .
Dive Bomber 41'
Well I have now seen Boots. After all this time what a great movie .The final scene has so much feeling it just jumps right out of the screen and grabs right at your heart strings . Maybe to the purists it is not historically correct .Who cares this movie is A1.
They Died with their Boots On 42'
In September 1941 while boots was still in production, Flynn collapsed in the elevator of a medical building from what the physicians told  the press was "nervous exhaustion"
This was one of Errols personal favourite movies. Also Errol collapsed on the set during filming of the John L Sullivan bout. The press stated that he was suffering from fatigue. Several weeks eariler he had been turned down for duty in the navy and army due to what doctors termed Athlete's heart.
Gentleman Jim 42'
I think this film is really good the boxing scenes are excellent Errol learnt  all he could about JLSullivan his left cross to name only one. The foot work is mesmorising Ok the story line differs a bit from the mans real life but who is quibbling this is fine entertainment Errol really liked the subject matter and gives this role his all.
This film is a mish mash. This does not mean I do not like it but in some places it does get a little silly . Errol was going through the headlines of the rape scandal at the time and it shows in his work.I don't blame him who could think of work at a time like that but being a profesional he got through.
Desperate Journey 42'

I think this is a really good movie there is a lot of cast doing a lot of things. Errol is a Norwegian fisherman who is head of the resistance. There is a very moving scene when Anne Sheridan is raped .This movie is Top class intertainment. Errol always got along with Anne Sheridan which made it a lot easier for him.
Edge of Darkness 43'
Errol was still working on the film when the rape scandal broke, but managed to turn in a subdued, belivable performance

Thank your Lucky Stars 43'
Thank your Lucky Stars is a compilation of many top Warners actors doing  small skits. Errol Plays a cockney in an Old English Pub and what he does is quite great. Though he is only on the screen for about 5 minutes. The movie otherwise is so drawn out I find it hard to sit through the whole film.
Personal info
While Errol was doing this film he was still appering at court for the rape trial
