Hello. We are MaryLu and Marcel Stefan of Bartlett, Illinois... not far from the Chicago area. We started with 2 dogues, and produced our first litter of puppies on December 3rd, 2004! Our babies just had their first birthday on 12/3/05... it's amazing how fast they grow up!

Our very first dogue, was our male, Maximillian Augustus Kolbe. His breeders are Maria Rivera (Windy City DDB) of Schaumburg, ILL (owner of the dam) and Michelle Convis (Red Dog Ridge DDB) of Bellevue, MI (owner of sire).
Max captured our hearts from day one, with his loyalty, intellegence and gentle nature. We were smitten with the breed ever since.
With much fore-thought, we decided to get a companion for Max, with the potential of possibly creating dogues out of the two with the beloved traits of our dear Max.

In late 2002, we purchased the pick female out of a litter of puppies from Red Dog Ridge, and called her Jasmine for short, as her full name is Red Dog Ridge Jasmine. Jasmine was the perfect addition to our family, as she has always been a loving playmate for Max, as well as sweet and loyal.

Our goal from the start was to bring together traits prized by us displayed by both dogues we own, as well as for an eye toward the breed according to the standard. Both Max and Jasmine have wonderful, loyal natures about them, as well as deep red coats, good conformation and great movement.

Max is OFA hip certified, as was his mother, Jessica Bridget Rivera Thompson, and Max's father, Red Dog Ridge Victorious Augustus was Penn Hip'd at .60 and .68 with no DJD.

Jasmine has been shown and has done excellently in the show ring. At just 9.5 months old, Jasmine competed in UKC and received her UKC Championship title.
From there, she attended the USBC National Specialty show held in Chicago, ILL on Sept. 18, 2004, in which she was presented to European FCI Judge Jergen Sauer of Germany.
Judge Sauer was very smitten by Jasmine. So much so, that he awarded her with the First Place win in Open Female with 6 females in the ring. At the time of Jasmine's win, Judge Sauer presented Jasmine to the audience of spectators, and declared, "
This dogue has no faults. She is what a sound breeding program should be producing." This made us, and her breeder, Michelle Convis, very happy!
Judge Sauer also gave Jasmine an EXCELLENT critique:

--correct color
--excellent head with right proportions
--correct neck
--good ear and eye
--undershot correct
--correct top line
--correct under line
--very good chest and excellent depth of chest
--good front
--correct tail
--rear angulations
--excellent movement

Shortly after the USBC National show, Jasmine came into season. At this time, we felt the time had arrived to introduce this combination of wonderful sound dogues, and create the litter we had dreamed of.
