What is a Little Girl?

Little girls are the nicest things that happen to people.
They are born with a little bit of angel shine about
them and though it wears thin sometimes,
there is always enough left to lasso your heart.

A little girl can be sweeter, and badder, oftener than
anyone else in the world. A girl is innocence playing
in the mud, beauty standing on its head, and
Motherhood dragging a doll by the foot.

Girls are available in five colours -- black, white, red, yellow or brown,
...yet Mother Nature always
manages to select your favourite colour when you place your order.

God borrows from many creatures to make a little girl.
He uses a song of a bird, the stubbornness of a mule,
the slyness of a fox, the softness of a kitten and, to top it
all off, He adds the mysterious mind of a woman.

A little girl likes new shoes, party dresses, small
animals, dolls, make-believe, dancing lessons, ice
cream and tea parties. She is loudest when you are
thinking, the prettiest when she provokes you, the
quietest when you want to show her off and the most
flirtatious when she absolutely must not get the best of you again.

Who else can cause you more grief, joy, irritation,
satisfaction, embarrassment and genuine delight than
this combination of Eve, Salome and Florence Nightingale?

Just when your patience is ready to crack, when your
dreams tumble down and the whole world is a mess she
can make you a king when she climbs on your knee and
whispers, "I love you best of all."

Little Things

It's just the little homely things,
The unobtrusive, friendly things,
The "won't-you-let-me-help-you" things
That make our pathway light-
And it's just the jolly, joking things,
The "never-mind-the-trouble" things,
The "laugh-with-me, it's funny" things
That make the world seem bright.

For all the countless famous things,
The wondrous, record-breaking things,
Those "never-can-be-equalled" things
That all the papers cite,
Aren't like the little human things,
The everyday-encountered things,
Those "just-because-I-like-you" things
That make us happy quite.

So here's to all the simple things,
The dear "all-in-a-day's-work" things
The "smile-and-face-your-troubles" things,
Trust God to put them right!
The "done-and-then-forgotten" things,
The "can't-you-see-I-love-you" things,
The hearty "I-am-with-you" things
That make life worth the fight.

May the best you've ever seen
Be the worst you'll ever see;
May a moose ne'er leave yer girnal
Wi' a teardrop in his e'e.
May ye aye keep hale and hearty
Till ye're auld enough tae dee,
May ye aye be just as happy
As I wish ye aye tae be.

Lighthouse

Beautiful beacon of light
Across the ocean you fan your light,
Forever lighting the way,
Shining through the darkness of night
Ever watchful, always there,
Guiding the ships
Keeping them safe from harm.

RICH BLESSINGS

May you always find your treasure
In the blessings that life sends
In the beauty of each season,
In the company of friends.

May you grow in faith and wisdom,
Gather strength from every storm ...
May you always have a smile to share
And one to keep you warm.

May each path you choose bring promise
Of the things you're dreaming of
May your world be filled with peace and joy,
You heart be filled with Love.

Happiness is a journey,
Not a destination.
Work like you don't need money.
Dance like no one is watching.
Love like you'll never be hurt.
Sing like no one is listening.
And live like it's heaven on earth.
