Everyone knows examples of historic novels. This work is a novel inspired by contemporary history. The reader should note that although there is a great deal of allegiance to the historic record, I've taken liberties with some timelines and chronologies, to economize the narrative. With the exception of obvious, historically documented events and public figures depicted as backdrop to this narrative, all other aspects of the story and all other characters are fictional. Any resemblance between them and actual events, entities, names or persons living or dead, is purely coincidental, and unintended by the author.

The work has been copyrighted, as a work in progress at various times. It has been excerpted and publicly performed at a large number of venues in New York City, and has been excerpted and taped for television and for radio.
