Reproduction
All cells are the products of the division of preexisting cells. Simple cell division, or asexual reproduction, normally results in two identical daughter cells, each containing a set of chromosomes identical with those of the parent cell. This is mitosis.
The other way that cells reproduce is meiosis, which results in 2 daughter cells that are not identical.
When you have finished, look at the differences between mitosis and meiosis.
