At issue was a free, all-day youth conference on Saturday at Barrie's Georgian College. The target audience was young people between the ages of 14 and 29. Sponsors of the event included the United Way of Greater Simcoe County, the AIDS Committee of Simcoe County, Health Canada and the Ontario Healthy Communities Coalition

Alliance would turf any accused
OTTAWA -- A Canadian Alliance government would extradite Canadians wanted on murder charges anywhere in the world -- even if they faced the death penalty.
Angry Alliance MPs said yesterday's Supreme Court ruling was a "political decision" that put out the welcome mat for foreign killers to flock to Canada.
Vic Toews went as far as to suggest the seven Texas cons who recently killed a police officer after escaping would be safe in Canada under the ruling.Justice Minister Anne McLellan said the Alliance was trying to strike fear in the hearts of Canadians.
"I find it appalling that a member of the Official Opposition would so misrepresent a decision of the Supreme Court."
