What is St. Andrews?
St Andrews exists:

To know and glorify God, primarily through worship, prayer, bible study, fellowship and obedience.

To proclaim Jesus, the Way, the Truth and the Life through the empowering and gifting of the Holy Spirit as part of the mission of Christ's church world wide.

To encourage our Church Famil
y to grow together in God, through learning and nurturing and developing our ministries.

To reach out through addressing the physical and spiritual needs, seeking wholeness for each person within our church and community.
St Andrews is an Anglican church with a structured/evangelical form of worship, it is situated in First Tower.  With a new weekly prayer meeting and evening service of praise and teaching.  St Andrews' fills to the brim for a family service with numbers near to, and sometimes over 200 people.

Throughout the history of the Church, St Andrews has seen four vicars, the most recent being Mike.

Revd. Herbert Quarrie was the first vicar who saw the church move from its old position on the Esplanade to its present site in 1926.

Following him was the Revd. George Dockerell who saw the building of the Church hall/Community Centre.  He built up the faith of the congregation and introduced the idea of a monthly gift to charity.

The predecessor of Mike was Revd. Desmond Springham.  He built up the 'faith community' in St Andrew's.  He bought the congregation into a closer relationship with God.  A great care for eachother and love for visitors was nurtured, which led to the present warm, welcoming congregation.
