Weird Sisters, or the 3 Witches Trinity Symbol
designed and hand made by StainedWitch@yahoo.com
align="left" hspace="0">Shakespear's three witches were called the Weird Sisters after the Saxon trinity of Wyrd, the Three Fates. Originally there was only one Goddess, Wyrd, Wurd, Urd, or Urth (Mother Earth), who evolved into the trinity of "She-Who-Was, She-Who-Is, and She-Who-Will-Be" Wyrd or Wurd also meant the "word" of the Great Mother, that is, her writings claimed that the Christian God himself was subject to the irresistable power of the Goddess Wyrd. Also some Christians attempted to assimilate her to Christianity by renaming her "Providence". I have taken this symbol to new heights, a simple triangle for the goddess trinity in stained glass with 3 iridescent stained glass jewels for the witches, and an embelisment of rainbow colored ribbons, with a crystal teardrop hanging down. Measures about 7 inches by 7 inches |
