Long before we married, we had each felt God calling us to South America to proclaim salvation and healing to the precious people there. For many years we have prayed for God's timing and God's place for this calling on our lives to be fulfilled. Though years passed by, the call still burned within our hearts. In 1999, Charlie joined a weeklong AIMS missions trip to Arequipa, Peru. During the week God began to unfold His marvelous plan right before Charlie's eyes. By the end of the week, the missionary had asked Charlie to prayerfully considering returning to work full time in that ministry! After prayerful consideration, we were sure that this was God's plan--His time and His purpose for our lives. In July of 2000, as chronicled in our Journal, we were able go serve for nearly two years in Arequipa, Peru.
