The Grandravine Tornadoes
The Grandravine Tornadoes,
operated by Grandravine Special Program, are one of the two founding members
of Special Hockey International. Established in 1980 by Pat Flick, it is the
longest running program of its kind in North America. The current director of hockey is Joe Rizzuto.
The program is open to
any individual with a developmental challenge. We are open to male and female
players of any age. No prerequisite skill level is required, even if the
individual has never skated before. The program is run by volunteer but
experienced coaches who will work one to one with an individual where
necessary.
The Grandravine Tornadoes
have two teams of approximately 20 to 25 players each. They practice and play
their home games at Grandravine Arena on Saturday mornings from October till
