About Us
There
are many types of Adventure... Our undersea world is a vast array of
natural beauty. It is a place of natural contrasts where you expect the
unexpected. One moment you are watching the exciting passage of a school
of fish, the next you are looking at the surreal sight of an undisturbed
shipwreck, hiding its personal history, mystery and wonder.
Our
undersea world is a place for you to escape from the stress of your usual
routine into the weightlessness and serenity of a bright crystalline
world.
The
adventures that you will experience from diving are all around you.
In every
sea and ocean. In lakes, ponds and rivers near where you live, and
in the
farthest, most untouched places on the globe.
With
your first unforgettable cool breath of air underwater, you begin a
process of discovery that will grow with each dive you make.
Learning
to scuba dive is the key to all the wonders that Mother Nature has put
beneath our waters for the privileged few to see.
At
Adventures in Scuba
we are proud of our recognized reputation. Just producing scuba divers is
not good enough for us. We are committed to ensure that the divers we
produce are safe, confident divers who are proud to become the best, and
be associated with the best.
We have Instructors who are able to take you through to the professional
levels of diver training should you wish it. Many of our students are
already on their way to becoming Instructors themselves.
How to find us
We are
located in a small village called Fobbing, about 3 miles south of Basildon and
about 3 miles east of Stanford-le-Hope. The easiest way to get to us is
from the A13 taking the Basildon turn-off (Five Bells Roundabout) when coming from either London or
Southend direction.
Coming from Southend:
At the roundabout from the A13, take the first exit which leads straight
into Fobbing past the level crossing. We are approximately half a mile
further down the road on the right, we have a small yellow diver signpost located on
the left to mark the entrance.
Coming from London: At the
roundabout from the A13, take the fourth exit to the right, which leads immediately to another
roundabout, and take the second exit directly in front which leads straight into
Fobbing past the level crossing.
We
are approximately half a mile further down the road on the right, we have a
small yellow diver signpost located on the left to mark the entrance.

Corringham Swimming Pool
We
have use of the pool between 9.00p.m. and 10.00p.m. most Monday evenings
and some Sunday afternoons between 12.00pm and
1.00pm for skill development in diving, swimming or
snorkeling (alternative times available on request). This
facility is available to all
students, who have completed their courses with us. So once you have
qualified, we continue to encourage you to practice your skills.
Our Magazine
We
produce a magazine. It provides a great way of keeping in touch and passing on
ideas and experiences. We welcome contributions to the magazine.
Maybe you
would like to write about your ideas - funny or serious - and pass on any
suggestions you may have to us so that we can put them in the Magazine.
Diving Trips
During
the year we organizes diving excursions including chartering a dive boat or organizing
dive venues here and abroad. These prove very popular and need to be booked well in advance.
The trip dates will be published in the magazine. All students are welcome to come along
(bookings accepted upon payment of a deposit). The
actual diving we do on these excursions will be tailored to your
experience, so there is no reason for you to feel that the events are
beyond your capabilities. Please
do remember on these events that you may be responsible for your own
transport and in some cases your own accommodation. Because we are a
family-orientated center, we also encourage non-divers to come along.
This means your
family will be able to join you and enjoy the event.
