The Somali Agricultural Economics Association(SAEA) was founded in
1999 as a non-profit professional society to enhance the discipline of
agricultural economics in order to improve the agriculture and livestock
sectors, and living condition of rural population and its contribution to the
Somalia economy.
 

 It has drawn membership from agricultural economists as well as other
 professionals related to it from the universities, government agencies,
 corporate sector and industries. It is planning to organize a number of
 seminars, workshops, educational activities and  participated actively in
 providing inputs to the government , Local NGO's, with regards to
 agricultural policy and development, Rural Development and How best to
 use the available resource. SAEA it intend publishes its very own Journal
 Somali Journal of Agricultural Economics to enhance the discipline of
agricultural economics in order to improve the agriculture and livestock sectors and their
contribution to the Somali economy.
