Yung Ji's Rocky Mountain Suiseki

The Art of Stone Appeciation, known an Suiseki, has been a passion of mine for some time. To truly understand how Suiseki can be described as an art, you first must understand that none of these stones were crafted by hand. Each stone was scuplted by the hand of Mother Nature. These stones represents the many seasons of time that will surpass our own lives.

Much like a beautiful picture of a mountain range, suiseki aims to grasp the beauty of the land. In Asia, Bonsai trees (Ying) and Suiseki (Yang)provides the perfect blend in all Japanese Gardens. Bonsai's symbolizes the future and Suiseki our past.
Living in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, I have collected a rather modest collection of excellent suiseki. Perhaps because of the the remoteness of the location, as few men have ever past through the areas I venture, there are many beautiful stones to be found. The upheavals that formed the Rocky Mountains also brings up many old stones as well.

Sampled on this website, I have included some of my most interesting suiseki. Any photos of art can rarely do the piece of artwork justice. If you're interested, please feel free to email me to inquire about everything from general questions to any suiseki for sale.
