A'ser and Not-so-Male Pattern baldness

Or

Do Brownriders get Sympathy Proddy?

No! Faranth No!!! All Aurian did was give A'ser a little trim against his will but its not Aurian's fault! Sheeeesh Wouldn't you be annoyed if someone dumped you naked into a pickle barrel!! Ahhhh the unfairness of it all. I weep! ;>

Aurian grouses, "Why does everyone feel old when the weather gets cold.."

From the kitchen, THUD. CLANG. "OUCH!!!" A'lex coughs, "I'll clean up when I'm done..."

J'lyn smirks at Aurian. "Try it sometime."

Aurian peers at J'lyn, "I was asking a question cause I feel old too."

"Bronzerider steak?" Kassi asks upon walking in, slapping her gloves idly against her hands. "Sounds delish, Jal, if'n somewhat tough. You know how unyielding those bronzers can be. Think we could find sauce spicy enough to offset his blandness, though? Evening, all, by the by."

Maylia trots on into the kitchen, covering her mouth with her hand as she coughs. Someone's got a cold. A wave is tossed over her shoulder to her wingleader, as she heads to heat up her citron.

J'lyn grins at his Wingleader. "Doubtful, Kassi, but one just never ever knows what that Ofira can wizard up in the kitchen."

Maylia walks off towards the kitchen.

From the kitchen, Maylia enters the kitchen from the living cavern.

From the kitchen, A'lex straightens up as Maylia enters, clangin the pans he's trying to put away....

Aurian peers at Maylia, "You haven't been going between with that cold have you"

Kassima yells towards the Kitchen, "Maylia, either get a powder for that cough or report to the Healers post haste, y'hear? What's going on in there?" She jerks her thumb back towards the kitchen, plunking herself gracelessly into her chair.

From the kitchen, A'lex turns towards his partner in baker-crime, "So what's it to be? Something to help your cold? Like cookies?"

From the kitchen, Maylia leans to nod to those in the living caverns, telling Aurian, "Not when I can help it!" and Kassi, "Yes'm," cause she knows the near-ma'am will bug her wingleader. Averting her aim from nearby pots and pans, she coughs again, then pours the citron into a small pot. "First, I'm gonna heat this up for m'throat. Then, I"m gonna wash my hands." A moment's thought, as the citron is placed near the flames. "Something cool and slippery?"

Kvasith> Above, From the Telgar Star Stones, Kl'loh's brick-brown Yoxath rears on hind legs and bugles a greeting to blue Xylath and his rider, Neliea, welcoming them home.

Kvasith> Above, Xylath flies over from the north end of the bowl.

Kvasith> Xylath backwings for a landing.

Kvasith> Neliea nimbly climbs down from Xylath's neckridges, pausing to gently brush a hand along her lifemate's muzzle as he turns a large light blue muzzle to his lifemate, wuffling her hair gently in return.

Kvasith> Neliea walks beneath the lintel and disappears into the living cavern.

Neliea walks in from the bowl.

Kassima makes a face, getting up again to wander over to the doorway. "Don't *make* me sicc Ushu on you, May," she threatens. "He'll probably decide you're pregnant. You know how he is."

Neliea lightly steps into the cavern, heading towards the serving table as she nods a slow greeting to the others already present. "Evening, all."

From the kitchen, Maylia manages to look suitably contrite for the near-ma'am offence, only spoiled by another spasm of coughing. A kitchen worker weaves past her, muttering about riders in the kitchens. "Alright, alright, I'll see a healer," she agrees, before washing her hands well.

Aurian takes a bowl of steamed and spiced redfruit. She eats them with a grin, then glances to Maylia, "Try not to disturb the ones working on N'ren. He's had a relapse you know."

"And remind me t'stay away from whatever you're making," Kassi further instructs. Peering into the kitchen, she has to ask, "What *are* you making, anyway? And why? Even I know better'n *that*, Auri. Evening, Nel."

Aurian giggles at Kassima's stream of conciousness.

From the kitchen, "I'm washing my hands!" Maylia calls towards Kassima, then wriggles dripping fingers to her wingleader. "See?" That done, she has to dash to the hearth, where her citron is nearly boiling. This time, she coughs into her sleeve, to keep her hands free of germs.

From the kitchen, A'lex dohs! "Yea, I'm washing my hands too!"

J'lyn grins at his HGRIC. "Kassi, m'sweet, what say we challenge those young upstarts to a bbaking contest?"

From the kitchen, A'lex calls to J'lyn, "That would be NOT fair, since I've never baked before in my LIFE!"

Neliea takes her mug of cider, keeping it press⁥d between her hands as she walks over to join Kassi, J'lyn and Aurian. Tilting her head to the kitchen, she smiles. "What's in the kitchen? Besides Maylia, A'lex and a few confused cooks?"

Aurian snickers, "You bake I'll eat."

Kassima rolls her eyes, and advises those still in the Cavern, "Don't touch a thing that they make. It's probably lethal." She arches one dark brow at J'lyn, mouthing 'M'sweet?' once before actually giving the idea some consideration. "Oh, I daresay we could manage that," she agrees, grinning, "if'n the cooks wouldn't throw us out. What had you in mind t'be making?"

From the kitchen, Maylia pours her citron into a mug, carefully so as not to splash the sweet-sour drink. She sidles up to A'lex, grinning. "S'ok, I remember Kassi baking at the casses at the Reaches. We can top anything she does." A wink is cast towards the greenrider she's speaking of, clearly she's jesting.

J'lyn shrugs. "Something frothy and sweet? Totally decadent, for those especially heavy proddy days?"

"For the especially heavy proddy days, I prefer raw meat, which doesn't require much cooking," Kassima points out, stepping away from the kitchen doorway to gesture her Wingsecond through. "I *can* make a few desserts, though. Think we could make a bloody huge cake in the shape of a wherry-head?"

J'lyn looks almost like a young child. "Can it have LOTS of icing? And little candied eyes?"

From the kitchen, Maylia pulls up one of the stools nearby for workers to sit upon while chopping vegetables, and frowns. And coughs, carefully directed away from the counter top. And frowns some more. "I'm not sure. What'd you think?"

Aurian blinks, "Sounds rather yummy actually."

From the kitchen, A'lex chews his lip, "Well, let's narrow it down... food or drink?"

Kassima promises faithfully, "Little candied eyes and a dagger made out of rock-candy through its skull." That, however, makes her ponder for a moment. "We might need special ingrediants, though. Maybe we should postpone until we can get them?"

Neliea silently continues to sip her cider, staying away from the conversation about cooking. The rider does listen, though as she curls up her chair.

From the kitchen, A'lex mumbles, "Oh, Faranth, they're being CREATIVE..."

J'lyn nods. "Aye, that sounds like a plan... Maybe as a nice Turnday cake for... Hmmm...... M'hryn?"

Aurian blinks, "Hasn't he already had his turnday?"

From the kitchen, Maylia lifts up her citron, saying, "Got a drink already." A glance is cast towards the pair of creative greenriders, and she frowns. "No kidding. We'll have to come up with something to compare, or give up on the competition thing."

J'lyn overhears A'lex's idea of being funny. He shouts into the kitchen, "Subtle and bronzerider don't belong in the same sentence, little boy...†THe only creative power you have in that kitchen is Maylia."

Kassima shouts into the kitchen, "Greenriders are *always* creative!" My, what long ears you have, Kassi. "Eh, Jal, his Turnday's nay until after the Turnover."

J'lyn shrugs. "Mine isn't until the day before. Nobody's saying we have to make it this sevenday, are they?"

From the kitchen, A'lex ponders, "Well..." then stops. "Yea, J'lyn, whatever, blah blah blah..." He turns back to Maylia, "I've n'er cooked before, so we have to keep it simple..."

Kassima wrinkles her nose. "Well, nay," she conceeds. "But I'd rather make it now than in three months! We could fill it with some sort of strawberry goo--or have red-colored cake? So that when you cut into it...." She doesn't really need to finish that sentence. Her wicked and slightly maniacal grin says it all.

J'lyn hmmmms... "Maybe in a few days, then?"

From the kitchen, And sharp teeth, too, which is why Maylia won't atually refer to Kassi as a ma'am. Wise girl. "Well. I know how to make crabapple ketsup, but that's no fun." Nope, just disgusting to some. "What'd'you think?"

From the kitchen, A'lex sticks out his tongue, "Ketsup? No... how about... pie?"

Aurian tilts her head, "How bout we make it as a welcome for all the reachians."

From the kitchen, Maylia leans down towards A'lex, then back again to cough. Okay, try again. "What say we join them? Forget competition?"

Kassima shudders at the mention of crabapple ketchup. "I'm still certain that the very *idea* of crabapple ketchup brings on labor," she mutters. It's a good thing there aren't any heavily preggers women around. "Mayhaps. Ooh, now there's a thought, Auri! I'm sure Mart and R'ehn at least would *love* it." There's that grin again. "And Kena and Lirra probably would get a kick out of it, at that. Mayhaps I can get m'Aunt Keysanna t'help. She's wonderful at this business, y'know; she makes pastries that *really look* like tent pegs!"

From the kitchen, A'lex blinks, "As long as they're making desert..."

From the kitchen, Maylia makes a face, and nods. "But I want something -tonight-, not when her aunt Keyswhoever can arrive." Polititly, she covers her mouth as she coughs again, then sighs, getting off her seat. "Gotta wash m'hands again."

Nag, nag, nag... And they say MEN are babies when they get sick. "Maylia," J'lyn commands into the kitchen, "Get yourself to the Infirmary. I won't have anyone getting sick because of your silly pride. Now! Scoot, girl!"

Neliea finishes her cider, pausing to look over her mug before standing and placing her mug in the approiate bin. "I think that I'll turn in now. Night all," she says, slipping out of the room and making an exit towards the bowl.

From the kitchen, A'lex says "Yea, we need to do something no7... let's make pie."

Neliea walks down the short tunnel and out into the bowl.

Kvasith> Neliea comes out of the short tunnel from the living cavern.

Kvasith> Neliea easily climbs up Xylath's back with the help of a forearm as she takes hold of the straps, settling down between his neckridges.

Kassima turns away from the kitchen, with some regret. "Tell you what, Jal: I'll go back t'Greystones and enlist Keysanna, and we'll make this cake as soon as possible--just t'show 'em how 'creative' greenriders can *really* be when they're moved." She gives the evil eye to all of the maleriders who feel it necessary to snicker at this statement coming from Kassi, of all people.

Kvasith> Xylath takes flight, using the thermals rising from the bowl to carry him aloft.

Kvasith> Above, Xylath rises up from the bowl.

Kvasith> Above, Xylath flies towards the north end of the bowl.

J'lyn nods. "Will do, Kassi. And I'll make certain Maylia gets to the Healers."

From the kitchen, Maylia might be a greenrider, but she can't be creative when she's sick. Doesn't work. Forcing it might only result in scary occurances. Hence, she has no real retort for her wingsecond. "But! But! I'm not that sick. Just a cough!"

Kassima nods seriously, for once. "Please do. The last thing we need is a bunch of ours in the Infirmary with N'ren." Pulling on her gloves, she says, "I've still reports to summarize for M'hryn, or I'd stay longer. Clear skies for now, all."

J'lyn scowls that oh-so-nasty scowl and shouts again. "GET THERE!"

From the kitchen, Maylia drops off her seat, shoves her hands in her pockets, and sulks. She must be sick. With an appologetic look to her would-be-conspirator in baking, she shuffles from the kitchens.

From the kitchen, Maylia walks into the Living Cavern.

Maylia walks in from the kitchen.

Pierron nods knowingly as the assistant weyrlingmaster enters.

Kassima walks down the short tunnel and out into the bowl.

Kvasith> Kassima comes out of the short tunnel from the living cavern.

Kvasith> Kassima climbs up to Lysseth's lower neckridges with the aid of the riding straps and the green's thoughtfully offered foreleg. She gives her lifemate a fond pat on the neck once she is aboard.

Kvasith> Lysseth springs from the ground, the air from her wings churning up dust as she takes to the skies.

Kvasith> Lysseth takes flight, using the thermals rising from the bowl to carry her aloft.

Kvasith> Above, Lysseth rises up from the bowl.

Kvasith> Above, Lysseth folds her wings and lands on Lysseth's Ledge.

J'lyn points out the door. "March, young lady."

From the kitchen, A'lex swears and starts banging pans around.

From the kitchen, A'lex calls to Maylia, "Hurry back, I've no clue what I'm doing." CLANG BASH CLANG!

*cough*cough* "I'll be back in a minute. Even a junior can give me stuff in there." and Maylia shuffles off into the inner caverns, a sullen glare sent towards her wingsecond. Sniff.

From the kitchen, BONG! CLANG! THUD! "Shards!"

Aurian shakes her head, "Poor Maylia."

J'lyn scowls again. "Get going, I'm right behind you."

Maylia walks towards the inner cavern.

J'lyn walks towards the inner cavern.

Kvasith> J'lyn emerges from the infirmary.

From the kitchen, THUD! FOOOOOF!!

Kvasith> J'lyn uses Lorieth's forelimb as a step and seats himself between the green's neckridges.

Kvasith> Lorieth takes flight, using the thermals rising from the bowl to carry her aloft.

Kvasith> Above, Lorieth rises up from the bowl.

Kvasith> Above, Lorieth lands on Lorieth's Ledge.

From the kitchen, A white cloud billows out of the kitchen.

Aurian calls towards the kitchen, "I'm tellin' Ofira!"

From the kitchen, A'lex coughs, "And I'll see you doing dawn sweeps over the Norther Range until you're forty! I'm cleaning it up!"

Aurian calls to A'lex, "Uh huh sure."

From the kitchen, A'lex says "I'm cleaning!" CLANG! "Shard it!"

Aurian chuckles.

From the kitchen, Water splashes, and mops slosh...

Kvasith> Maylia emerges from the infirmary.

Kvasith> The sound of coughing follows Maylia across the bowl.

Kvasith> Maylia walks beneath the lintel and disappears into the living cavern.

Maylia walks in from the bowl.

Pierron nods knowingly as the assistant weyrlingmaster enters.

From the kitchen, A'lex mutters, " . . . bag of flour . . . up on . . . shelf like that . . ."

Aurian tilts her head, "Well Maylia?"

Maylia's head shakes. "Not well," she replies. "Sick." But they knew that. "And there's not a whole lot they can do, it's a cough. Syrups an'teas, and just as I thought, hot citron and cool slippery stuff for my throat."

Aurian chuckles, "Some of the things we still remember."

From the kitchen, A'lex says "You gonna live, Maylia?"

"For a little while, at least!" Maylia calls in answer, the effort bringing more coughs. Sniffle. "I'm suprised how much I've forgotten, but then I was only at the Hall for a few months. The journeyman I saw wasn't even there when I started, I'm sure."

From the kitchen, A'lex laughs, "Gonna go back?" Slosh, scrub, slosh...

Aurian chuckles at Maylia as she rests her chin on her fist.

Maylia glances towards the kitchen, brows furrowing. "WAs that to me?" The greenrider asks of Aurian. "Back where?"

From the kitchen, A'lex laughs, "Yea, you. Back to the Hall."

Aurian grins, "Of course."

From the kitchen, A'lex walks into the Living Cavern.

A'lex walks in from the kitchen.

Pierron grunts in greeting to the Wingleader of Skyfire.

A'lex emerges from the kitchen covered in flour.

"Shells, *cough*, a'lex? Why'd I go back there, exept to pick up healers and such?" Maylia asks. "And what in Faranth's name happened to you?"

A'lex frowns, "Nuttin..." He changes the subject, "But you could learn more at the Hall maybe... when you're not doing drills, and not oiling Tierth, and... nevermind."

Aurian peers at A'lex, "Y' know. You folk in the Skyfire wing like to do a lot of things together."

A'lex blinks, "What?"

From the kitchen, Ceria has connected.

Maylia's brow perks. She might be sick with a cold, but she's not immune to innuendos. *cough* "Things like what? LOts of activities that're far more fun together." An innocent look is given to Aurian, best she can.

Aurian laughs and takes a sip of her wine.

Sioda walks here from the Inner Cavern.

From the kitchen, Ceria walks into the Living Cavern.

Ceria walks in from the kitchen.

Ceria walks in carrying a fresh brewed pot of klah and a trayful of steaming cookies. She places both on the serving tables and then glances around.

A'lex smiles, "Did this happen to someone else?"

Maylia coughs, smothering the sound of it in her sleeve. Sniffle. The greenrider gets up, and heads for the night hearth, a small packet of herbs withdrawn from her pocket. "Lucky me, I get to sample the best that Healer Hall has to offer." She's clearly being sarcastic, not wishing to taste whatever concoction hse's been given.

Aurian nods to A'lex, "Of course it did, except his wasn't an accident." She stands and investigates the food options.

A'lex starts wiping the white stuff from his face and hands. "It wasn't?"

A'lex notices the unfamiliar face in the Living Cavern, sees himself covered in flour and smiles weakly, "Ummm.... Telgar's Duties?"

Sioda smiles back at him, "Oh . . . " Then she laughs lightly.

Ceria raises her eyebrows at the flour covered A'lex. She mutters to herself, "... is going... the..."

Aurian sticks a sweetroll in her mouth before returning to her seat.

A'lex wipes more furiously at himself, trying to remove the flour as quickly as possible.

Ceria frowns at Aurian. "And just what were you doing in our barrel of pickled vegetables this afternoon?" she asks sternly.

Sioda goes to the plate of goodies and gingerly takes a cookie, looking about to see if it's alright . . .

Aurian coughs, "Its not something that happened willingly. He grabbed me out of my bath and dumped me into the barrel. Sheeeeeesh."

Ceria turns her glare to A'lex. "And why exactly do you have flour all over you?" she inquires icily. "The holds don't tithe to us so that we can waste food like this."

Maylia pours steaming hot water over the herbs from her little packet, and heads towards her seat, stirring the contents of the mug as she goes. "Just what did you try to make, anyways?" She asks of the bronzerider, then stets her mug down on the thunderbolt table. "Pickled vegetables?" is quickly directed towards Aurian.

A'lex says "Those cookies taste good with the klah..." He's obviously ignoring Ceria for the moment. "Add a bit of bovine milk to it, it's wonderful."

Ceria glances over to Sioda, and the expression on her face lightens a bit. She offers a polite smile to the stranger.

A'lex looks from Maylia to Ceria and back, making a "Not while the BAKER is in the room" face.

Aurian rolls her eyes, "A'ser grabbed me out of my bath and dumped me into the pickles."

Ceria's gaze goes back to Aurian. "Who was it that dumped you into the barrel?" she asks. "I'd like a word with him."

Ceria sighs. "I give up," she says. "I'll let Ofira deal with the lot of you." She throws her hands into the air and stalks over to the serving tables.

Sioda politely smiles back at Ceria, then nods to A'lex and goes to a pitcher of klah ...

A'lex turns, "No, not Ofira. Anything but that..."

Sioda pours herself a cup and puts a little milk into it . . .

Maylia appears a little distressed. Perhaps shes halucinating? "Dumped you into the barrel of pickles. What were they doing near your bath?" She's clearly confused. Can't be the Healer's tea, she's not had any yet. Cough cough.

Sioda dips her cookie in the klah and takes a bit.

Ceria whirls around at A'lex's comment. "Are you mocking me?" she asks threateningly, her green eyes flashing.

Aurian shakes her head, "They weren't near the bath. A'ser hauled me out of the springs and carried me. I never realized he was that strong, little wherry."

Kvasith> I bespoke Yasinth with << Do you want prekilled ovine delivered or one that's alive? >>

A'lex looks startled, "No, I'm not. I *DO NOT* want Ofira to find out I was sharding off in her kitchen."

Sioda finishes off the cookie and sips at the klah . . . Mmmmm.

Dragon> Kvasith senses that Yasinth would prefer pre-killed, thank you.

Kvasith> You spring into the air and catch the thermals rising from the bowl floor to carry you aloft.

Kvasith> Southern Bowl Airspace(#1362RLQe)

Kvasith> Obvious exits:

Kvasith> Star Stones

Kvasith> You fly towards the north end of the bowl.

Kvasith> Central Bowl Airspace(#1353RLe)

Kvasith> Obvious exits:

Kvasith> Hatching Cavern

Kvasith> You fly downwards towards the feeding grounds.

Kvasith> Feeding Grounds

Kvasith> Obvious exits:

Kvasith> Bowl Pasture

The fire in Ceria's eyes seems to subside a bit, but her expression is still stern. "So how exactly did you end up with flour all over you?" she inquires.

A'lex frowns, "I was looking for a pie pan on a shelf. There was a tin with some flour in it... And from the smell, I'd say it wasn't fresh..."

Maylia coughs, probably as she tries to keep from laughing, and takes a sip of her medicinal tea.

Ceria raises her eyebrows. "Looking for a pie pan?" she asks. "Why ever for?"

A'lex rubs his head, "It hit me on the head." He turns to Sioda, obviously this is NOT a subject he wants to be discussing, "So, what brings you to Telgar?"

Kvasith> Kvasith whirls his eyes as he watches the flocks of ovines. Then with a decisive move he pounces on a youthful and plump ovine.

A'lex mumbles towards Ceria, "I wanted to make a pie."

Sioda giggles, almost spitting out her klah, swallows, then, "Nice tactics!"

Kvasith> With a dainty move, Kvasith spears the beast through the neck with a talon. He rises up carrying the dead beast with him.

Kvasith> You spring into the air and catch the thermals rising from the bowl floor to carry you aloft -- much to the relief of the wherries.

Kvasith> Central Bowl Airspace(#1353RLe)

Kvasith> Obvious exits:

Kvasith> Hatching Cavern

Kvasith> You fly towards the south end of the bowl.

Kvasith> Southern Bowl Airspace(#1362RLQe)

Kvasith> Obvious exits:

Kvasith> Star Stones

Kvasith> You land on Yasinth's Ledge.

Kvasith> Yasinth's Ledge(#14605RJh)

Kvasith> A'ser(#15147PJace$)

Kvasith> Yasinth(#253QVaepqs)

Ceria sighs. "I see," she says, rolling her eyes and apparently giving up. "Well, if Ofira comes after me for anything that went on in that kitchen today, I refuse to take responsibility for it." She includes everyone present in her remark.

Kvasith> Kvasith deposits a good-sized ovine for Yasinth. Young but not too young. Plump but not overly so.

A'lex says "I cleaned it up.... honest. You can't even tell... I used to clean all the time."

Sioda looks to Ceria, wondering. "Who's Ofira?" she asks.

A'lex says "Ofira is all that is evil..."

Maylia splutters, trying not to cough. "Of course not, Ceria!" She calls, though her voice sounds much like one who's throat hurts. Better hope this rider wasn't in the kitchen, or the whole weyr might come down with a cold. "You weren't in there when we went in!" Cough. Cough.

Sioda laughs, looking over at A'lex.

Kvasith> Yasinth lounges like a great, lazy green lump in her couch. She extends her neck to sniff at the offering approvingly, while her rider tries to force a comb through his wet hair amidst curses and shouting, all of which she ignores.

Aurian just sits there giggling then scowls as she reaches into her hair and pulls out a peppercorn. "Shard it! I washed!"

Ceria frowns at A'lex, her eyes growing hard again. "I'm sure she'll be happy to hear that you think of her that way," she threatens. She turns to Sioda. "She the coCraftMaster of the BakerCraft," she explains.

Kvasith> I bespoke Yasinth with << Is he always so noisy? >>

Sioda nods knowingly, "Ohhhhhhh . . . I see."

A'lex frowns at Ceria, "Tell me you don't think of her that way once in a while, too. Especially when the Pan is aflyin'..."

Ceria smiles sweetly at A'lex. "I never give her reason to be that way around me," she says.

Kvasith> Kvasith moves the ovine closer to Yasinth, yeah he's whipped and he hasn't even gotten to chase her yet.

Dragon> Yasinth bespoke Kvasith with <‼ Noisier. >>

Kvasith> Kvasith rumbles his amusement.

Kvasith> Yasinth uncoils herself, and daintily siezes the ovine by a leg, tugging it towards her. She picks through her meal with care, making sure that she crunches the bones in A'ser's direction. It makes him more irate.

A'lex makes a face and mocks, "I never give her reason..." He feh's and finally gets his face clean... except for what's IN his ears.

Ceria practically growls at A'lex and turns her back on him, focusing her attention on straightening the serving tables.

Kvasith> Kvasith watches Yasinth with whirling blue eyes. His tail twitching happily.

A'lex screws up his face again and sticks his tongue out at Ceria's backside as he goes to work cleaning off his hands.

Kvasith> Yasinth finishes, flicking out a tongue to dab blood and small bits from her talons and muzzle.

Without turning around, Ceria says, "I saw that!" A small gold head pokes out of the back of her hair.

Kvasith> Kvasith rumbles.

Kvasith> I bespoke Yasinth with << Was it tasty? >>

Maylia frowns thoughtfully in Ceria's direction, sipping carefully at her tea. Most of the herbs have settled to the bottom, allowing her to drink the concoction. the greenrider shrugs, and glances to A'lex, then stiffles a chuckle - bringing on more coughing. In a low mutter to Aurian, she asks, "Think we should tell him 'bout the flour in his ears?"

Kvasith> A'ser shrieks and hops up, dancing around the weyr with both hands clapped around the comb in his hair, head tipped and neck crooked. Obviously, it's stuck. As he fights with his own hair, wearing a wet towel, he stumbles over a chest and makes noise, noise, and more noise. Yasinth sighs in self-pity.

Dragon> Yasinth bespoke Kvasith with << Very well picked. Thank you. >>

A'lex swears, and mutters something about " . . . eyes . . . bakers . . . back of the head . . . my mother."

Aurian chuckles at Maylia and shakes her head, " Faranth no."

Kvasith> Kvasith croons and touches his nose to Yasinth's side.

Ceria cocks her head in A'lex's direction, but doesn't pause in her arrangement of the tables.

Kvasith> I bespoke Yasinth with << Aurian has hair that is difficult for her to comb. She says it makes her scalp ache. >>

Sioda sips her klah quietly, taking a seat on a bench.

A'lex sighs, and keeps working on his hands... and arms...

Kvasith> Yasinth paints Kvasith's shoulder with a brief breath, warm and misty. As she does this, her little rider has somehow managed to get himself into his own breeches and tie them on. He jerks angrily at the comb sticking in his hair before giving up. "Heylo, Kvasith," he mutters, patting the brown's snout on his way to climb Yasinth's side.

Ceria finishes arranging the tables and pours herself a mug of klah. She walks toward the table and as she passes by A'lex, she seems to be saying something about 'high and mighty bronzeriders'.

Maylia grins, and sniggers a little into her mug, which only sets off more coughing. "Crackdust!" the young woman croaks out, and takes another long sip of her tea. "Let Channie find out?" Is muttered, again towards Aurian.

Kvasith> A'ser vaults up to Yasinth's back, with the aid of a green tail or foreleg.

Kvasith> Yasinth leaps off the ledge.

Kvasith> From the air, Yasinth leaps from Yasinth's Ledge and flies into the air.

Kvasith> From the air, Yasinth flies downward to the ground.

A'ser walks in from the bowl.

A'lex looks after Ceria and sticks out his tongue again...

Aurian nods to Maylia, "Sounds like a good idea.

A'lex nods to A'ser, "Evening, Greenrider."

A'ser walks into the cavern. My, doesn't he look stately? He's managed to get his breeches on, there's a good start. Unfortunately, that's all he managed. He smiles and waves to A'lex. "Wingleader, sir!" And then he waves to everyone else, pretending that there's NOT a comb stuck in his knotted, wet black hair, jutting out from his skull at an odd angle.

Ceria turns around, eliciting a startled squawk from her gold firelizard. "Don't stick that tongue out at me unless you mean it," she instructs wickedly before turning around again.

Ceria raises her eyebrows at A'ser and then narrows her eyes. She says nothing, instead electing to take a seat and sip at her klah.

Aurian peers at A'ser oddly, she's had nothing to do with that.

Sioda giggles a little again, this time at the greenrider, and smiles.

A'lex just blinks at Ceria, then turns back to A'ser, "Ummm, Greenrider, where are the rest of your clothes? It's cold out, you'r going to get sick."

Maylia coughs softly from her seat; she's drawn her legs up to huddle there. A'ser'd better not come too close, or A'lex's prediction will come true.

A'ser places his fists on his hips. "Well. I'll just have you know, wingleader, that I /forgot/ the rest of them! Ha, ha!" After that, he scrubs at the scalp directly below the comb and scowls.

Ceria glances up at A'ser. "You might want to take the comb out of your hair," she suggests.

Sioda grins into her cup of klah . . .

A'lex stops cleaning the flour, between the two of them, Skyfire's gonna get a bad... err worse name, "Do you think it might be prudent to go GET them, maybe?"

A'ser blinks at Ceria, affecting a dumb look. He leans fo⁲ward a little, earger for more rays of brillance. "There's a comb in my hair?"

A'ser thinks about A'lex's suggestion. "Well, now that I think about it, I don't have any others at the time, sir."

Ceria nods silently and takes another sip of her klah.

Aurian hmms, "I thinking he's suggesting that you get them from your weyr."

A'lex starts to say something, then stops. Starts again, then stops. "WHY don't you have any clothes A'ser? I understand there aren't any here in the living cavern, but surely, in your Weyr..."

A'ser bows his head, folds his hands, and looks meek. "Why, I had a flight jacket, sir. But then, some how, I got FLOUR on it. That wasn't so bad. But then, out of no where, it got wet. Then it was wet flour on my flight jacket. So I took my flight jacket off. Then, who knows why, I got bubbly all over my shirt, sir. Just, all over. Don't know the wherefors and whys to that either. So, 'tween that and the laundry girls-"

A'lex frowns at first, thinking that A'ser is making fun of him, but as the story continues he just shakes his head. "So you have no clothes at all? I guess we should be thankful you found pants then..."

A'ser beams. "None at all, sir. But I've got a comb, shard it!"

Aurian doesn't care if she looks innocent or not. She takes a fish roll from a platter.

A'lex says "Do you need HELP getting that out of your hair, or did you want to keep it there???"

Sioda gets up and goes to the tray, boldly taking two meat rolls. She snickers on the way back to her seat

A'ser seems thoughtful once more. "I thought I'd put some fish oil in my hair to get it out. Failing that, butter. Failing that, I thought I'd find some /nice/ weavers girls, because they'fe got such deft fingers, you see-"

A bluerider at the Aerie table turns to Sioda and says, "There's some halfway decent Wherry stew on the hearth..."

Sioda looks to the bluerider. "Thanks!"

A'lex frowns, "Fish oil? Eich..."

Aurian pauses before eating, "Why not use the oil that the dragons use, smells better than fish oil,:

Sioda goes to the hearth and, grabbing a bowl, fills it with stew . . . Shards, but she's hungry!

A'ser ahs as he back towards the kitchen. "I would, but Yasinth would never share with me. She's suggest I'd shave bald before that."

Aurian snorts, "So borrow someone elses."

A'ser oos and sets his hands on a bowlful of some slimey, sloppy desert. "What's this? It looks all slidey and oily-"

Sioda walks back to her seat an, sits, and dips her rolls in her stew, munching merrily.

A'lex says "Or get more from stores... fish oil... I don't want you flying upwind of me if you use fishoil."

Ceria raises her eyebrows at A'sers comment. "Don't you dare!" she warns him.

Aurian simply watches the mayhem.

Sioda gives her Flit a roll grudgingly. "Here, o stomach of mine . . . "

A'ser pauses, hand hovering above the food. "B-but. . . " he says automatically. Ceria sounds like his mother. And M'kla. Rolled into one. Oy.

A'lex says "No desert in your hair... use hide oil."

Ceria stands up and sets down her klah mug with a bang. "Don't even think about putting that into you hair," she commands.

A'ser frowns at A'lex. Selfish old beast probably wants the desert for his own hair. "Okay!" he chirps anyways, spinning about and leaving the bowl behind. "Hide oil."

Sioda goes over to the tray and takes a few more rolls, hoping, for the sake of her "second stomach" no one will mind . . .

A'lex sighs, why does he get all the "special" cases. "I'm sure someone here can help with that if you need it."

Sioda slides back to her seat and, after taking a bite of stew, feeds Jinks another one of the rolls.

A'ser stops behind Aurian, leaning forward to sniff a time or two at her hair. His nose wrinkles and he leans away. Wow. You can waft this girl a mile away. He stops and hooks his thumbs in the belt loops of his slacks when he hears A'lex. And he stares. Would A'lex trust any of the people here to preform such a delicate operation? "I think I'll go see if I can't find that oil...."

Ceria sits down again with a sigh and stares morosely into her klah mug.

Sioda feeds her Flit the second-to-last roll . . .

Aurian whips around and grabs A'ser by the wrist, and yanks him hard so he's next to her. She eyes the comb, you know she has memories of a brush stuck in her hair just like that.

A'lex says "Don't break my Greenrider, Aurian."

Aurian smiles sweetly to A'lex, "Oh he won't break, maybe yelp a bit." She stalks off towards the the kitchen, dragging him with her.

Ceria takes note of Aurian's direction and watches her and A'ser warily.

From the kitchen, Nashela walks out of the passageway that leads down to the storerooms.

From the kitchen, Nashela walks into the Living Cavern.

Nashela walks in from the kitchen.

Nashela says "hello"

A'ser looks nervous, stumbling after Aurian. "A'lex? Don't let her do this to me, sir! I'm a valuable human being, sir! Sir?"

From the kitchen, Delina walks out of the passageway that leads down to the storerooms.

You walk off towards the kitchen.

Kitchen

The aroma of herbs and spices is even stronger here than in the living cavern. Bunches of drying herbs hang from cabinets and any overhanging space along with braided ropes of onions and garlic bulbs, peppers of all colours, and dried, jerked meats. The pale, golden skybroom wood of the cabinets and preparation tables glows softly with the dancing light of three huge hearths set into the backmost wall. Next to these are several large ovens, heated from within by the warmth of the hearth fires and spacious enough to hold sufficent bread for a small gather. Low, wooden bins of tubers and sundry beans and other root vegetables line the walls, overhung by gleaming rows of fastidiously polished copper pans and utensils. Shelves line the rest of the free wall space, carefully stacked with dishes and glasses and mugs near the sink for ease of washing. Also, there are many shelves of shiny jars of powdered, crushed, and whole herbs for cooking. Lower caverns women and assorted helpers bustle through the kitchen at most hours, peeling, stirring, basting and checking the ovens. They are not loathe to help underfoot onlookers out with the swat of a broom if needed.

The expanse of the living cavern proper stretches out northeast of the kitchen with the passageway to the storage rooms to the southwest.

Storeroom Passageway Living Cavern

Delina walks into the Living Cavern.

From the living cavern, Delina walks in from the kitchen.

From the living cavern, Sioda nods to the newcomer, sipping her klah.

From the living cavern, Delina says "hello"

From the living cavern, A'lex says "I'll punish her if she breaks you A'ser. Just don't fight or struggle too much."

From the living cavern, Delina says "hello A'lex"

From the living cavern, A'lex nods to Nashela and Delina, "Telgar's duties."

From the living cavern, Ceria nods absently to the newcomers, her eyes still locked on Aurian.

From the living cavern, Maylia just sits in her seat, huddled up with her tea, looking somewhat dazed. Even the odd behaviour of her friend, and A'ser, doesn't seem to phase her.

From the living cavern, A'ser makes a noise that one often hears the wherry make just before someone's dragon steps on it.

From the living cavern, Sioda giggles into her klah and nods to /both/ newcomers.

From the living cavern, A'ser walks off towards the kitchen.

A'ser enters the kitchen from the living cavern.

From the living cavern, Maylia coughs, quietly, into her sleeve, and manages to not spill her tea.

From the living cavern, A'lex says "Poor A'ser..."

From the living cavern, A'lex says "I don't hear anything, is this a bad sign?"

Aurian pushes A'ser against a wall and keeps him there. She reaches down and pulls a rather wicked blade out of her boot, "Now don't move or this could get ugly..." And with that little comment, Aurian reaches close and yanks hard on the come and in the space between the scalp and the comb, her blade moves with lightening swiftness.

From the living cavern, Ceria watches the kitchen for any sign of disorder.

A'ser laughs nervously, clasping his hands together beneath his chin. He giggles, "Oh-ho-ho, by the first shell, I'm going to die!"

From the living cavern, Sioda winces, watching the kitchen's going-ons . . .

From the living cavern, Maylia leans forward, curiosity of the comb and A'ser, as well as Aurian's chance for some revenge, outweighs the cough.

From the living cavern, A'lex hears the SHING of blade being drawn, then A'ser's scream. He stands, "Aurian? No blood..."

*thud* Now there rests a comb wrapped up in hair, and there is the odd circlular patch on A'ser's head where his hair was shorn. Nothing like a little fuzz surrounded by the rest of his whispy hair. And no, not a spot of blood as Aurian puts away her knife.

From the living cavern, Ceria stands up and moves toward the kitchen. "Aurian?" she calls. "What are you doing in there?"

Aurian bends down to pick up the comb, "Nothing. I'm quite done." She tucks the comb into A'ser's back pocket. With that she saunters out of the kitchen.

You walk into the Living Cavern.

Telgar Weyr's Living Cavern(#750RJM$)

This huge cavern is sufficently roomy to hold a large portion of the Weyr's population without feeling cramped. There's always a bustle of activity here. Fragrant dishes are constantly in prepartion for mealtimes: currently for the late meal. Drudges are always present, either cleaning under Pierron's watchful eye, or helping fetch and carry. A myriad of glowbaskets and many ever-lit hearths make the cavern warm and inviting despite its size. The scents of cooking meats, baking breads and pastries, and the pungent aroma of spices hang mouthwateringly in the air. It is little wonder that those seeking to relax nearly always find their way here to do it.

A short tunnel jaunts northward out to the bowl and the merry sounds of cooking, chores, and laughter echo from the kitchen at the southeast end of the cavern near the easterly passage to the rest of the lower caverns. Within the lower caverns is an entrance to the infirmary weyr to care for injured dragons and riders.

A'lex stands waiting near the kitchen door, just in case the Greenrider needs comforting after being some forcibly shorn.

some = so

From the kitchen, A'ser slaps the heel of his hand against the little spot on his head. "Bloody flaming bleeding SHARDS, Aurian, what did you do that for?" Grimacing, he rubs at his head, following her out.

*cough* *cough* From the sounds comming from the greenrider at the Thunderbolt table, newcommers to the Weyr had likely better be careful where they sit, and what they eat. As Aurian returns, Maylia looks up towards her, questioningly. "Didja get'im back?"

He has almost all his hair.

From the kitchen, A'ser walks into the Living Cavern.

A'ser walks in from the kitchen.

Delina looks towards the kitchen, realizing now she can't ignore this and listens intently to what will develope from the recent incident in the kitchen.

Aurian nods, "Oh aye. Turns to do it, but Aye." She drops into her seat and reaches for her wine.

Delina shrugs as Mercury takes flight from her shoulder.

Mercury flies off towards the inner cavern.

A'ser sniffles as he scrubs at his head. "You're a mean rider!" he accuses, hurt. After all, he was shorn along with the rest of the candidates.

Ceria rolls her eyes. "Riders," she mumbles to herself as she makes her way back to her seat.

A'lex raises an eyebrow as he turns to Aurian, "You didn't do that out of VENGENCE did you?" He's got that "Chastizing Wingleader look" going.

Sioda sips her drink.

Aurian blinks at A'lex wide eyed, "Of course not. It was opportunity. After all he did today," She just is a screaming picture of innocence. "Certainly not vengence."

R'val walks in from the bowl.

A'ser huffs and plants his knuckles on his waust so that everyone can see the hole in his hair. "Well, I just hope you're finally satisfied!"

R'val wanders in, heading for the klah pot, "Shardin' sweeps!" He mutters to himself.

Delina says "Hi R'val!'"

R'val grins," Hey Delina." he greets the girl, filling his cup with klah and meandering towards the group.

A'lex looks, "After all he did today? That smacks faintly of Kassima on one of her 'You're a dead Bronzerider' kicks. You people have to be careful that this doesn't get out of hand. There will be NO vengance or retribution or anysuch that involves PHYSICAL damage to a person, hair included... understood?" He turns to A'ser, "You okay?"

Of course standing there covered in flour, A'lex doesn't look that imposing.

Sioda pauses from eating her stew long enough to smile at the bluerider and say, "Hi there" quietly.

A'ser sniffles, now that he has A'lex's attention. "I don't know. Could you yell at her a little more?" But the grin is there, and that says 'well enough'.

A'lex grins and pats the Greenriders shoulder, "Of course. How about I have her assigned to dawn sweeps in the Northern ranges tomorrow?" He winks at Aurian over A'ser's head.

Aurian finds another sharding peppercorn, "He nearly drowns me twice, kisses me, put some hideous green thing on my head, hauls me naked from the springs and drops me in the pickeled vegitable barrels. He was not harmed, the comb had to come out, if I tugged he probably would have ended up in a lot more pain than he was."

A'lex says "But oil could have helped, and saved some of his head... err hair."

A'ser nodnods appreciatively. Maybe he'll hurry up to A'lex's weyr and get rid of all of those nahsty burr weeds he left in the wingleader's stockings.

Aurian shakes her head at A'lex, "Oil doesn't help. It just makes the hair softer and shinier."

R'val blinks at A'ser, "Dear me."

R'val blinks at Aurian, "Question. WHO Did this to you?

"And made half of us gag from the stench of it," Maylia reminds A'lex. Of course, to judge by her voice, she's incapable of smelling anything. Cough. Cough.

A'lex raises an eyebrow, "Well, you could have warned him first and given him the option for pain... some people value their hair more than their comfort."

Aurian points her thumb at A'ser, and whirls on Maylia, "I washed! And washed! You can't smell it! Its just the peppercorns that I keep finding." She glances at A'lex, and says with all honesty, "What's the fun in that?"

Ceria watches the proceedings with mild bemusement.

A'ser turns pinkish in indignation. "Well, I never!"

Maylia blinks, and rocks back in her chair. "Nod you, silly." She jerks her chin at A'ser. "HIm. Wid Fish oil." Hmmm, that tea might be slowing down her coughing, but she sounds like she's getting stuffed up.

Sioda, munching on her stew, watches silently, engaged in the conversation.

A'lex sighs, "I'm going to have to have a talk with Kassima. This is inexcusable. You COULD have seriously injured him if he squirmed. "Fun" with others should not involve Knives or other sharp or pointy instruments that might cause harm..."

R'val glances at Sioda, and smiles, "How're you doing?"

Sioda looks to R'val and smiles back. "I'm fine, sir," she says, "and how are you?"

A'ser nods right along with A'lex, tsking and shaking his head.

R'val grins at Sioda amiably, 'Fine, fine. Considering a soak in the springs. I'm stiff as a board after flying around all darn day."

Sioda nods plaintively, "I don't blame you. Sweepriding must be hard work!"

Aurian glances to A'lex, "If you have a problem with my behavior take it up with my wingleader, Not with Kassima. I'm sorry you disapprove, but he has not been permanently maimed in any fashion."

A'lex shakes his head, "You're missing the point. He *COULD* have been seriously injured."

Sioda munches on her stew . . .

Aurian shakes her head, "He wasn't. I wouldn't have hurt him."

R'val grins at Sioda, "It is, but...I'm also hungry."

Delina finds a wall and leans aginst it and pops her neckwhile listening silently to the conversations in the room *Crack* *Crack*

A'ser gives A'lex a look. Now that he thinks about it, A'lex sounds rather upset that he /could/ have been injured, but wasn't....

Ceria's eyes move between A'lex and Aurian, taking in the conversation.

Sioda laughs, "There's a pot of stew on the fire over there . . . " Pointing to demonstrate . . . "That's where I got mine. If you want some, that is . . ."

Sioda dips her last roll into the last bit of stew and munches on it . . .

R'val grins at Sioda, "You seem to be doing fairly well at least. Stew. Yes, good idea."

A'lex frowns, "What if he'd jerked his head to the side? What if the knife had sunk into his noggin, hollow as it seems some times? All I'm saying is, if you're going for 'payback' don't take chances on something that might cause injuries, okay? Sure, having your dragon flame at someone might be a GREAT way to get them back, but it might get them hurt too, no matter HOW good their control is. I'm just asking that you're careful, that's all..."

Sioda grins back, munching on her meat roll.

Aurian just blinks, "Are you implying that I would have my dragon flame at someone." She folds her hands behind her back, "I think you need to pick another way of phrasing your lecture Sir."

A'ser looks at A'lex. He claps his hands on the wingleader's shoulders, shaking him firmly. "Good show, sir. It's all right now. See? I just look funnier then I did." And as funny as you do, Flourman. "Time to sit down and take a drink, don't you think?"

A'lex smiles at A'ser and Aurian, "Just play nice, okay? I worry about you guys..."

Sioda sips her klah . . . Boring, isn't it? What Sid does?

A'lex moves over to the Skyfire table and opens a skin of wine.

R'val sits, stew in hand, and munches.

Aurian doesn't get the answer she wants apparently and turns about on her heel. She walks straight out of the cavern.

You walk down the short tunnel and out into the bowl.

Southern Bowl(#396RJL$)

Towering above, the bowl wall rises in a curving three pointed arc as it shelters this southernmost point of Telgar Weyr's great cauldera. Sloping down to the north to a slight degree, the floor of the bowl channeled so that runoff might drain down to the lake beyond. There are several strategically placed evergreens that serve to baffle the biting mountain winds away from the southern entrance into the living Caverns. Scattered leaves have tumbled into corners of the bowl, and are stuck in cracks on the edge of the rock. They have bright colors: orange, gold, and brown. Northward, the center of the bowl spreads hugely, leading to the feeding pens, hatching grounds, weyrling barracks and the Telgar Weyr lake. The ground-level weyrs of the queenriders dot the mountain to the northwest. Use '+view queenriders' to view them. The bowl is quiet in the depth of night.

Before you Kvasith's fully grown body is long and sinuous. He moves with an almost serpentine movement. His hide gleams like highly polished hardwood, burnished to a brilliant depth by his rider's care. The rippling tones of umber and sepia run along his neck and back. Dark rich tones of violet wind through the brown. Hints of amber caress his muzzle; the amber is again displayed in the delicate wingsails. Not the largest of the dragons, he is still strong and built agily. He is for the moment in simply made riding straps, even as his rider constantly improves them with new pairs. There is a soft rumble as you examine the desert sands dragon.

Hovering above the southern part of Telgar Weyrs hourglass-shaped bowl, you are surrounding by a three-quarter circle of spiky rock walls. Flat across its east face and open at its northern-most end, the shape is perfect to bring up the chill winds which swirl around you. Below, you can almost make out the bustling of activity outside of the Living Caverns and Infirmary as well as the lower ledges of the Queenriders and Weyrleaders. Far off to the northwest is the gaping cavern of the Hatching grounds and the weyrling barracks. Beast sounds filter across from the northeast as the feeding pens are located there. The other half of the hourglass and lake reach perfectly north, the snow-capped peaks of mountains not far beyond them.

Below, along the lake's edge lie the sands of the Weyr's main beach and to its west is the huge expanse of Telgar's Hatching cavern. Down and then eastward is the Weyr's large pen that serves as the dragons' feeding grounds. Several of the beasts scatter nervously while you hover overhead. Gouges mar the earth below beside the weyrling barracks where, often, you can catch sight of a bevy of young dragons and their new partners doing drills. Reaching farther to the south are the entrances to both the living caverns and the infirmary. While you could gaze over the breathtaking beauty of all these sites, the circling chill of the wind causes you to seriously considering landing.

The view from this ledge is simply breathtaking, it overlooks the Central Bowl of Telgar Weyr. All the activities on the bowl floor can easily be watched from this rocky rim. The mountains to the east are jagged and reach upwards to claw at the sky. The snowy peaks vivid against the backdrop that is the sky. In the morning, the light pours onto the ledge and into the weyr beyond it. At night a basket of glows on either side of the entrance marks the way into the weyr. Dangling near the entrance to the Weyr, attatched to a pole is a windchime, made out of bits of colored glass in various hues and shades. The light reflects and shimmers, as the glass makes delicate breezed composed music.

Aurian's Weyr(#9905R)

This weyr is simple in its fashion. It is one of the oldest ones in the weyr, the walls go up high into an arched ceiling large enough for a dragon to enter when the weather is untoward. An area of the weyr seems set up for such a purpose, against the wall over it is a large tapestry. A large carved armoire rests in a corner, near a rather massive bed. Its mattress is thick and high, stuffed full of rushes, with various pillows of various sizes and multitudes of colors. There is a small vanity in the corner, with a mirror resting upon it. A small writing chest is not far from the bed, hides and ink rest there, even a small collection of parchment can be seen. Resting on the writing chest is a small carved dragon. Attatched to the chest are several knots: a junior and senior apprentice Healer knot, a Fort Candidate's knot, a Telgar Candidate's knot, and Telgar Weyrling's knot. There is a table with a couple of chairs near it, on the table is a small glass vase of green glass. Sometimes it can be seen to have flowers in it. Herbs and flowers are hung to dry in locations about the walls. Their scent fills the air delicately. There is a small healer's hearth in the corner, used for heating water or sometimes adding heat to the cool stone weyr. Baskets of glows aid in the illumination of the weyr, sometimes sunlight filters in. Hanging from the cieling is another set of windchimes, this one much longer than the one out side. It is striking with its vivid colored glass, its tones are pure and gentle to the ear. While when the light strikes the glass, it sends colored shafts of light spiraling about the weyr.

Telgar-LC> A'lex looks at A'ser, "Well, only if I took YOUR knot when I went..."

Telgar-LC> A'ser grins a little. "Want it? Greenrider?"

Telgar-LC> A'lex smiles at the Greenrider, the Baker and the guest. "Are you trying to make me feel better? Well, it's working. Thank you."

Kvasith> Maylia walks though the entrance into the weyr.

Maylia steps through walking lightly into the weyr.

Telgar-LC> Sioda smiles at the wingleader, happy she could be of any service.

Maylia's enterance is preceded by a cough or two, echoing down the tunnel. "Aurian?" The greenrider calls.

Telgar-LC> A'ser continues a grin. "While you're still feeling so well, you can nip on up to see M'kla and explain to her about the ink stains I've gotten all over her floor and table."

Aurian is stretched out on her bed, she is rubbing a gold firelizard lightly, "Over here.." She reaches across and opens a glow basket a touch.

Telgar-LC> Ceria grins at A'lex and then looks over at A'ser. "Ink stains?" she asks.

Telgar-LC> A'lex laughs again, "The WHAT?"

Telgar-LC> A'ser is offended. "they're not /huge/."

Telgar-LC> A'ser twiddles his thumbs. "And it was an accident besides. So. I don't want her to hit me with her cane."

Maylia heads across the room, a concerned look on her face. "Well, if you want my opinion," And her words sound like she's a little stuffed up. "He overreacted. A'lex, I mean. And A'ser deserved what he got."

Telgar-LC> Sioda raises an eyebrow . . . Inkstains are impossible to get out of _clothes_ . . . Wonders what it's like to get them off other materials . . .

Telgar-LC> Ceria blinks at A'ser. "How did you get inkstains in there?" she wonders.

Telgar-LC> A'lex shakes his head, "What were you DOING?"

Aurian chuckles, "Thanks May..." She twirls the tail about her finger, "I didn't realize how many people consider me incompetant before."

Telgar-LC> A'ser stands. "Copy hides, as I have done sinse I was a candidate and I brought my cot in by the serving table to eat." He sniffs. It made sense then and it makes sense now. "And /I/ am going up to my weyr."

Telgar-LC> R'val wiggles his eyebrows, "Dontcha want company, A'ser baby?"

Telgar-LC> A'ser whirls to stare at R'val. "NO!"

Telgar-LC> Ceria simply continues to blink at A'ser. "Oh," she says.

Telgar-LC> R'val pouts, "But..."

Telgar-LC> A'ser backs away slowly, hands raised. "Away, away!" he warns.

Telgar-LC> R'val leers savagely at A'ser, "YOU KNOW YOU WANT IT!"

Telgar-LC> A'lex stares at R'val.

Telgar-LC> A'ser runs. No one can save him now, not even the might A'lex.

Telgar-LC> A'ser walks down the short tunnel and out into the bowl.

Telgar-LC> Ceria widens her eyes at R'val.

Telgar-LC> R'val grins, "I do so love freaking him out."

Telgar-LC> Sioda raises the other eyebrow . . .

Telgar-LC> Ceria frowns at R'val. "Was that really necessary?" she asks.

Telgar-LC> A'lex shakes his head, "Then don't come crying to me when he gets proddy and stabs you for it."

Telgar-LC> R'val fehs, "Been there, done that. And I think he already /is/ proddy."

Telgar-LC> Ceria's frown deepens. "So why do you provoke him?" she inquires.

Telgar-LC> R'val blinks, "I was only teasing, Ceria. It's just a silly game."

Telgar-LC> Sioda giggles a little and leans onto the table, resting her head on her hands.

Telgar-LC> A'lex frowns, turing into father figure AGAIN, "Then don't taunt him! I don't need freaked out proddy Greenriders in my wing..."

Telgar-LC> R'val errs, "Is there such a thing as a /non/ freaked out Greenrider in Telgar, A'lex?"

Telgar-LC> A'lex says calmly, "I like to think so."

Telgar-LC> Ceria shrugs. "Seems pretty pointless to me," she says to R'val. "If you know it freaks him out, it's pretty cruel to keep doing that."

Maylia heaves a sigh, as she sits on the bed. "Oh, sweet, I don't know what he thought he was saying. Nobody thinks you'd be that irresponsible." Her head shakes. "I mean, you're one of the best riders the Weyr has."

Telgar-LC> R'val frowns, "I suppose I shouldn't."

Telgar-LC> A'lex says "I would say so."

Telgar-LC> Ceria nods emphatically.

"You think so?" Aurian looks a bit stunned at that. She leans up on her elbow.

Telgar-LC> Sioda nods also.

Telgar-LC> A'lex sighs, "Well, I best make sure he's okay..." He nods to Sioda, "Hope your stay at Telgar is pleasant. Good evening to you all."

Telgar-LC> A'lex walks down the short tunnel and out into the bowl.

Telgar-LC> Ceria nods to A'lex and stands up with a yawn. "I'd best be getting to bed," she murmers.

Telgar-LC> R'val walks towards the inner cavern.

Telgar-LC> Sioda nods to everyone, "Actually, I should be heading somewhere to sleep . . . I don't know _where_ but somewhere . . ."

Telgar-LC> Ceria smiles. "You'll want to stay in dormitories," she suggests. "Are you planning on making Telgar your permanent residence?"

Telgar-LC> Sioda nods eagerly. "Hopefully, yes."

Telgar-LC> Ceria nods. "You'll want to speak to the headwoman then," she says. "In the meantime, the dorms are just through there," she says, pointing to the inner cavern. "You can't miss them."

Telgar-LC> Sioda nods gratefully. "Thank you Ceria. By the way, I'm Sioda." Sticks a hand out.

Telgar-LC> Ceria takes the offered hand. "Nice to meet you," she says. "Welcome to Telgar."

Telgar-LC> Sioda smiles, "Thanks very much. Good night, then."

Telgar-LC> Ceria smiles. "Good night," she responds, heading out toward the bowl.

Telgar-LC> Sioda walks towards the inner cavern.

Telgar-LC> Ceria walks down the short tunnel and out into the bowl.

Maylia's not coughing much, the medicine must be taking effect. "Of course I do. Knew you were going to be back when Kvasith was still young." she answers.

Aurian grins a touch, "Thanks May, that means something. It really does."

Maylia smiles, and nods. "You two work well together. Don't mind A'lex, honestly." the greenrider shrugs. "I've known him since I was Searched. Sometimes he... well, he just goes a bit too far."

Aurian nods, "I understand why though, A'ser is his wingrider."

"He takes Wingleadering very seriously," Maylia says, nodding. "but if you ask me, that was over reacting, and he'll realize it come morning. You never threatened A'ser's life nor limb, you simply cut the comb out of his hair. Would've had to have been done, in the end."

Aurian nods, "Oil would have done nothing but make it more of a mess."

Maylia laughs, "And smell bad, as he'd've likely used fish oil, not the stuff we use on the dragons."

Aurian laughs, "A'lex would have hated that showing up in his drills more than anything else."

Maylia reaches out to the young golden firelizard her friend had been stroking, offering scritches. "And besides, you know, surely, that Tas'd react much the same way if he heard of A'ser's treatment of you."

The gold sniffs at Maylia's hand curious then daintily turns her headknobs towards the offering. "I suppose so." Aurian grins a little.

Maylia stretches out on the bed, mindful to not get her boots on the covers, and getnly caresses the firelizard. "Same as Kassi'd get after anyone who did that to me - after lecturing me about not letting people push me around."

Aurian nods, "That she would, you can take your boots off if you want." She rolls on her side to continue speaking, "It was just harsh in front of so many like that."

Maylia grins, and pulls herself up to take hem off. Two thunks can be heard as the boots drop to the floor. "There, much better." she says. "And you're right, he should not have done that. And if he has any sense at all, he'll appologise to you infront of everyone."

Aurian laughs, "Yeah right. With that bronzer ego?"

Maylia laughs, shaking her head as she stretches out again. "He might have a bronzerider ego, but he is rather sweet, when you can deflate it." Her nose wrinkles, and she adds, "but you're right. Ain't no way he'll admit his mistake infront of others."

Aurian nods, "Well lets hope he gets to the apology."

Maylia snorts, and shrugs, shifting a little as a young bronze crawls out of her pocket. "I'm just crawling with the things," She comments, jesting. The medicine must be working. "Well, if he doesn't, he'll hear from me. Wingleaders might have some responsibility there, but friends have more."

Aurian points to her jacket in the corner which is crawling with blues and greens, well just five.

Maylia grins, as the little bronze does a summersault. "I think we're both infested." she comments.

Aurian laughs.
