Thank you for your interest in  THE EDGE,  Tales of Suspense.   We are a new magazine interested in well-written,   thought-provoking and exciting tales of suspense.   THE EDGE   is published triannually (January,   May,   September),   and our premier issue is   NOW ON SALE!

We accept stories from 700 to 8000 words in length,   though shorter works have a stronger chance of acceptance.

WE DO NOT ACCEPT ELECTRONIC OR DISK SUBMISSIONS OR REPRINTS.

All manuscripts should be typed and double-spaced.   Please send only one story at a time,   accompanied by an appropriately sized SASE,   a brief cover letter,   an author bio,   and a list of publishing credits,   if any.   If you are submitting a disposable copy of your story please include a number ten SASE for our response.   If you don’t live in the United States please enclose International Return Coupons. Manuscripts without   SASEs will   NOT   be returned.

THE EDGE,   Tales of Suspense,   is geared to an adult audience not easily offended,   and uses a broad spectrum of styles,   subjects and genres, including:   Crime,   Horror,   Mystery/Suspense   (police procedural, noir, private eye, hardboiled),   Science Fiction,   Erotica,   Westerns   (with horror or supernatural element ONLY),   Gay,   Lesbian,   Psychic/Supernatural/Occult,   or any combination thereof.
Regardless of genre,   we seek gritty,   realistic and highly entertaining stories with a strong element of danger and suspense.   We look for taut,   tense thrillers with realistic dialogue,   engaging characters,   strong plots and endings that are both powerful and memorable.   Graphic violence,   sex and profanity all have their place,   but do not be gratuitous or outright pornographic.

WE WILL NOT CONSIDER ANYTHING RACIST,   SEXIST, SACRILEGIOUS,   OR STORIES WHICH DEPICT CHILDREN OR ANIMALS IN VIOLENT OR SEXUAL SITUATIONS.

Response time is generally 1-8 weeks.   Payment is one copy upon publication.
Additional or sample copies:   $5.00   (plus $1.00s/h)   each.
Canadian and overseas please add an additional   $1.00 per issue,
and remit in US FUNDS ONLY.

Purchasing a sample copy prior to submitting is not required,   but strongly encouraged.
