NWA Southwest
Bronco Bowl, Dallas, Texas
June 10, 1999

On Thursday, June 10, 1999, NWA Southwest held their biggest card to date at the Bronco Bowl Arena in Dallas, Texas. On this card, before 680 fans, Cedric of Hollywood pinned Mike Foxx; Action Jackson pinned El Gato Negro; Fabulous Freebird Terry "Bamm Bamm" Gordy defeated New Dr. X with the Oriental Spike; Jimmy James pinned Canyon in an insane match to win the Texas Hardcore (formerly Brass Knucks) title; Kevin Northcutt pinned Redd Dogg Begnaud to win the vacant Texas Heavyweight title; and The Brotherhood (Knuckles Nelson and Rick Fuller, substituting for the injured Erich Sbraccia, managed by the Boston Bad Boy, Tony Rumble) retained the National Wrestling Alliance World Tag Team titles by reverse decision over Team Extreme (Kit Carson and Khris Germany). Some of what I think are the better pictures from that show are right here!--Rob

Rumble and Nelson ready to rumble
Tony Rumble and Knuckles Nelson get into it with some ringside fans at the beginning of the card, when it was announced that Erich Sbraccia would not be there due to injury.

Bamm Bamm poses with fans
It seemed like EVERYONE in the building wanted to have their picture taken with Terry Gordy, right after his hard-fought win over New Dr. X. The line stretched around the ring for nearly 30 minutes.

James and Canyon get hardcore
Time to get hardcore: Jimmy James throws Canyon onto a table.

Going through with it
Time to get hardcore II: James sacrifices himself to put Canyon through the table.

Coming back to the ring
Canyon drags James back down out of the crowd toward the ring.

Double J would be SO proud
James whacks Canyon with the MOTHER of all guitar shots, and gets the pin to win the Texas Hardcore title.

Redd Dogg gets whipped
Kevin Northcutt whips Redd Dogg Begnaud into a strategically placed chair in the corner.

The new Champ
Your NEW Texas Heavyweight Champion, Kevin Northcutt!
