In days of old, a lot of Japanese wrestlers had thousands of championship matches in foreign countries. This week's View From The Rising Sun will show "a piece of the jigsaw puzzle" of Japanese wrestlers' championship matches in the United States and Canada from 1955 to 1999. Of course, my record book is still an incomplete one, because of the difference between pro wrestling and MLB or the NFL. History is being made every day, but we have our past. I'll keep doing my best to keep our past, which we love, as correct as possible.

Haystacks Calhoun Jr. is the current IPW Heavyweight Champion. Phi DeKappa U (Biff & Chaz), who were trained by Dean Malenko, are the current IPW Tag Team champions. IPW has very good junior heavyweight wrestlers such as Chad Collyer, Jeremy Lopez, Jeff Peterson, and Jet Jaguar. And, Cuban Assassin (David Sierra Patterson) and Navy Seal (Rasta Man) are well known to Japanese fans. Abdullah the Butcher will wrestle for two IPW shows at Jannus Landing in St. Petersburg, Florida on February 18, and at the National Guard Armory in Crystal River, Florida on February 19. When Eiji Ezaki (Hayabusa / "H") was wrestling in WWA, AAA, & EMLL in Mexico, and Florida from Fall 1993 to Spring 1995, Ezaki, as Hayabusa, wrestled for Ron's show called PCWF (Professional Championship Wrestling Federation) in 1995.
