LATE CRASH RUINS RACE FOR STEWART, BIFFLE (NASCAR ONLINE)
BROOKLYN, Mich. -- With 10 laps to go in Sunday's DHL 400 at Michigan International Speedway, Greg Biffle and Tony Stewart were looking at top 10 finishes that would've marked strong come backs.

But after the checkered flag, the pair was lodged in 23rd and 24th positions -- the last cars on the lead lap -- after they tangled in Turn 4 on lap 193 while racing for eighth positon.

DISCUSTED STEWART LEAVES DRIVERS' MEETING EARLY (NASCAR ONLINE)
BROOKLYN, Mich. -- Tony Stewart ducked out of the pre-race drivers' meeting Sunday morning at Michigan International Speedway, apparantly discusted with the length of the meeting.

"Let's go racing," Stewart said as he threaded his way through the crowd back to his hauler

But NASCAR doesn't allow that. Even though Stewart checked in to the manditory meeting on time, leaving is a no-no, and Stewart was sent to the rear of the field fore the start of the DHL 400

STEWART, VICKERS INVOLVED IN POST-RACE INCIDENT (NASCAR ONLINE)
SONOMA, Calif. -- Tony Stewart and Brian Vickers were involved in a post-race altercation Sunday at Infineon Raceway, but know one seems to know why.

"He wrecked me during the race, in Turn 11, then came over after the race and was mad at me. I have no idea why, "Vickers said. :I never touched him.

FINE, PROBATION FOR STEWART (NASCAR ONLINE)
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP)  -- Tony Stewart avoided suspention Wednesday when NASCAR fined him $50,000 and docked him championship points for his altercation with Brian Vickers.

Stewart lost 25 points in the driver standings, car owner Joe Gibbs lost 25 points in the owner standings, and Stewart was also placed on probation until Aug. 18.
