| Shooting is set to begin in April 2004 in Philadelphia. This crime thriller stars Academy Award Nominee Helen Mirren and Ryan Phillippe, who both starred in Robert Altman's brilliant award-winning Gosford Park. Wes Bentley, who hasn't been in a good film since the Oscar winning American Beauty, also stars. First-time director Lee Daniels produced the 2004 Sundance hit The Woodsman with Kevin Bacon. Shadowboxer is written by the writer of Monster's Ball. The story centers on a Woman (Mirren) who goes on a crime spree with her stepson, played by Ryan Phillippe. They are pursued by Bentley. The unusual relationship between Mirren and Phillippe turns romantic which complicates their contract killer occupations. |
