THE LOWDOWN:  Nothing new here.  This average Sci/Fi adventure has been done many times before and almost always better.
The low budget status of the picture is obvious throughout.  Most of the actoring is average and the sets hollow and uninspired.
The biggest surprise here is that the film is not actually worse than it turns out.
Though nothing special, it is watchable and the suspense, while not great, does keep things moving along.
     Hardly a step up from
Crimson Tide, but not exactly the embarassment expected.

THE PLOT:  A secret labratory must shut itself off from the outside world when an alien virus takes over.  Those stuck inside race against time to destroy the creature before it's too late.

RYAN'S PART:  Ryan plays Private Ryan, not to be mistaken for the Matt Damon role in Steven Spielberg's monumental Saving Private Ryan.
As one of the young soldiers sent in to destroy the alien enemy, Ryan does seem to rise above the material and standout from the rest of the cast.  A definate sign of things to come.
